Nobody said they completely do. However, some are more in sync than others. And some are disproportionately out of sync.

No one with any decency will post pictures of complete strangers who are African American on a thread that is discussing the policies of an African American president unless they are trying to make a statement about their cell phone usage that in some way disparages all African Americans.

Matthew 17
22When they came together in Galilee, He said to them, “The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men. 23They will kill Him, and on the third day He will be raised to life.” And the disciples were filled with grief.
24After Jesus and His disciples arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma tax came to Peter and asked, “Doesn’t your teacher pay the temple tax?”
25“Yes, He does,” he replied.
When Peter came into the house, Jesus was the first to speak. “What do you think, Simon?” He asked. “From whom do the kings of the earth collect duty and taxes—from their own sons or from others?”
26“From others,” Peter answered.
“Then the sons are exempt,” Jesus said to him. 27“But so that we may not offend them, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours.”
It would seem that Jesus was ok with paying even what he would consider an “unfair” tax, at least if all one had to do was go fishing.

Does it make you upset to be labeled a Christian also? If you promote big government, nanny states ideals, regardless the reason, you are a liberal. I choose not to look at government as an extension of our Lord and Savior in hopes that it will get me to heaven a little bit quicker.

It had nothing to do with race until you brought race into it. It’s not very Christian of you to judge what’s in other people’s hearts now is it? Now, considering you are the one who decided to recognize skin color and change the direction of the thread for your own personal agenda, I must wonder just exactly who the real racist is.
Is racism hating someone because the color of their skin? Or is it also treating some different based on the color of their skin? I think it’s both. You responded because they were black. Hmmm…

I have absolutely no idea whether or not you are liberal, nor does it matter in the least to me if you are.
It makes absolutely no difference what you are to the fact that there is a liberal point of view—which lacks perspective, much like Lot did in the biblical example that you happened to bring up.
I am talking about the liberal point of view then, and not the view of you or any other anonymous poster here. We are in a forum dealing with news and politics, and to not be able to use words like ‘liberal’ and ‘conservative’ would be like entering into a sex forum without being able to use the words ‘penis’ and ‘vagina’.
Suffice it to say that to have to limit ourselves in such a way would be absurdly difficult in order to discuss the topic at hand.

Ezekiel and the Sodom quotation in the New Testament are both further commentary on the fuller veersion of the story in Genesis. As I noted, this story in itself is a double in which similar events happen to Abraham, and then to Lot. It very much has to do with how outsiders are treated, which is particularly instructive in a thread in which you are smearing someone here as a racist to the outsider, much like the proud, arrogant and fat people of Sodom.
Like Lot ought to have, people who support Obama as he sells out our children’s future to unsustainable debt, likewise must ask themselves; if it is truly *compassion *that would have them sell out on their next generation’s fiscal future, or are they trying to show off just how good they are like Lot did, and losing all perspective in the process?
And are the conservatives that oppose Obama truly like the xenophobic people of Sodom, or are they more like Abraham, believing in greeting the stranger with all the personal warmth and magnaminity that a people made in the image of God merit, yet in no way offering their daughters virginity in the bargain?
Biblical quotes are not out of place in any Catholic forum, but don’t think for a moment that the richness of God’s word can ever be reduced to a blurb.
Compassion for the poor is one thing. Compassion that impoverishes the next generation through unsustainable debt so that we ourselves can have bellies full of bread is moral imbecility.
It is also the leftist point of view.
Hopefully, it is not your own. But that is neither here nor there, as it is your issue that I am addressing, and not you.

Jesus commanded us to help the poor and the sick. He never told us how exactly to do it - whether through private charity or the government.
