Obama ‘Abruptly’ Walks Out of Debt Talks

And yet congress is the one who starts any budget bill and the best we could do is allow two former members of that group that voted on those measures to be the leaders of our country…obama and Biden were senators and should deserve blame just like all the congressmen for our problems…just as much as the citizen should take blame for our over spending and debt we have taken to cause the issues…it didn’t happen overnight and there is enough blame to go around…the million dollar question is

At what point does the blame game stop and someone stand up and say let’s fix it?

Right now I see both sides still blaming each other to score points bc they think it will help them win. But what’s the point of winning if what you get is a broken country?

Yes and what also amazes me is they seem so certain he will not be. I keep hearing Tea Partiers saying when “we” keep the House, take the Senate and the Presidency next yr. Like it’s all a done deal 15 mos before the election. No one knows of course. But I find it amazing they base so much of their hopes it seems on the electorate that turned out for one midterm election in 2010. When just 2 yrs before that, look at what the results were. And in 2012, 2010 will be 2 yrs before. Two completely different electorates between a 2010 midterm vs what might be in a 2012 Presidential. I expect it to be much closer than 2008. But again none of us know the outcome 15 mos out. Only time will tell.

“Whut” I think Ringil might have meant, bbarrick, is many Americans are forming an opinion of the Tea Party and are liking less of what they are seeing. I know for instance a poll in FL showed not long ago buyers remorse with regard to Tea Party darling Rick Scott being in the governor’s mansion. And FL isn’t exactly a liberal state.

Rask, you don’t see this forum as represenative of most American voters? I have to agree. In truth I’m thinking most are probably somewhere inbetween this forum and, well, me. 😃

And are you saying that someone making $30,000/year with 2 children (below the poverty line) can’t afford even a 1% tax rate? With the deductions for children we are talking perhaps a total tax bill of a couple of hundred dollars for the year. I knew college kids that were getting money more back from Uncle Sam than they paid in, yet had a cell phone, cable television, and a car (my wife was one of them). Is this paying their fair share?

Well a couple hundred can mean a great deal for some families. A cell phone, television, and a car are not exactly the lap of luxury. There are many rather cheap prepaid cell phone plans nowadays for instance.

Do you really think they have any business watching TV when they could be out “picking themselves up by their bootstraps.” You know, working “by the sweat of their brow.” 😉

Well except on the original Bush tax cuts and the Iraq war which I was talking about, Obama was not a US Senator. He even spoke out against the Iraq war as a state legislator in IL. Now as far as him cavng into Republicans and extending them, yes you can blame him. I blame him for that too except I understand the Republicans were holding hostage benefits for the middle class if he did not go along with extending the Bush tax cuts for the rich.
