Carry on with your assault on the poor and middle class. I’ve made my points and I’m now done on this thread.
I’ve not judged you on how much you give. I made a simple, accurate statement. Voting to tax someone else requires no sacrifice whatsoever. Do you deny that? If so, what is the sacrifice required? A paper cut when putting your ballot into an envelope?

Yeah…that is where the judging comes in. Nice. 👍 Maybe you should give the rest of Matthew a read…like Matthew 7:4-5. 🙂

What I am contending is conservatives want an unequal share of the burden to fall upon those less fortunate by means of spending cuts. Without a willingness to increase the revenue side in any meaningful way. And don’t bother with that tired and old and now failed argument about how we can’t raise taxes on the rich because they are the job producers. They’ve had their tax cuts and we still don’t have the jobs. They can afford more but the problem has now become greed. While oppression of the poor is a sin crying to heaven for vengeance.
You keep claiming that the burden is unequal yet when confronted with the fact that the top 25% of earners already pay 84% of federal income taxes your only response is that its"not fair". . So how much do you think they should pay? And are you willing to see your income taxes increased?

This debate has turned into nonsense when you and Computer Geek, and Rig, et al, start judging how much I give of what I have and can afford.
It’s incredible that you don’t see the hypocracy of your statement.

Me Computer Geek and RL judged what you can afford?

You mean like you judge about those who you deem “rich”?

I’m (we’re) not judging how much you give and what you can afford. I’m (we’re) just pointing out that before you pull out the plank in your neighbor’s eye, you should look at the speck in your own eye.

You’re the one doing the judging about the “rich.”

I am curious as too why this is unfair as well.

In all of the analysis I have seen, you could tax all wage earners over $250K at 100% and still not have enough money to cover this years Federal Budget. This would indicate that taxes aren’t the problem (but may have to be part of the solution, but that is not the problem at hand).

Correct. . To paraphrase John Dillinger ". Why do we need to tax the middle class? Because that’s where the money is

  Why are you waiting? I’ve already answered. :okpeople: I honestly do not have millions of dollars a year. Not even a quarter of a million dollars a yr. If I did, I could afford to set the example.
But The IRS accepts any and all contributions, from what I could find out. I don’t think the IRS would refuse any amount.

I’m almost positive, if you put a note on it saying something like this, " Here is my extra money to help with the debt crisis like Mr Obama explained". ---- Well, I’m almost certain it would generate press coverage and be used as an example.

Thank you for the link. But, it seems the liberals have lost in the debate in this thread. 😉

With that in mind how many press releases like that have you ever heard of? Kind of lets you know how many people are willing to open their own wallet to help out after castigating everyone else for not paying their fair share.

How many tax cheats are employed in this White House?

Lost in the debate? Probably more along the lines of being too bored to bother.
Perhaps you can answer the question. We have been trying to get answered for quite some time and help alleviate your boredom. . The top 25% of earners in this country party pay 84% of all federal income taxes. . How much do you think they should pay in order to pay their fair share? . Are you willing to pay more income taxes given the fiscal problems this country is in?

I have followed this thread almost religiously…Actually, looking for a logical argument presented - If I missed one of their arguments that holds a logical premise, I’m sorry :o

Maybe, you could point it out, for me?

I have heard every argument from WWJD to The Vatican… in an effort to support their views - BUT they don’t hold up to logic. 🤷

I’m barely paying attention and don’t really know what is going on…

Hi Samson01,

Some posters want to force the rich to pay more in taxes, when they already pay the brunt of the taxes. And even if we taxed them at 100%, there would not be enough money to fund the budget. They don’t understand this fact.

Let me summarize it for you iIn a nutshell. Those who claim to support shared sacrifice either disappeared or feigned boredom when asked if they wanted to join the sacrifice side of the equation.

I’m waiting as well. 👍
The way I see this debt problem is: It was the “Feel Good” positions that created the mess in the first place.

“The Bush did it” …I don’t buy.

Congress had the Democratic seats for the most of that era and most of Mr Obama’s.

It hasn’t stopped - it’s escalated.
And “Feel Good” isn’t the answer.

If they are serious - Audit the Fed and balance the budget - First
