That being said, we got tired of having the system help us in this poverty stricken area of WV. My income as an autopainter made it diificult to support a family of six…so what did we do…my wife got a Fed. job. The redtape and bureaucratic bs is so thick and internaly wrapped up that she is assured of “job security” until the money runs out. Wow, what a scam we got in to…Thanks. Finally getting to the point who deserves what?
From Mark Steyn: No bargaining with Barack Obluffer:
“The somebody who has our money is the government. They waste it on self-aggrandizing ideologue nitwits like Van Jones and his “green jobs” racket. How’s the “green jobs” scene in your town? Going gangbusters, is it? Every day these guys burn through so much that they can never bridge the gap. By that, I don’t mean that an American government that raises two trillion but spends four trillion has outspent America, but that it’s outspent the planet. In my soon-to-be-imminently-forthcoming book, I discuss a study published last year by John Kitchen of the U.S. Treasury and Menzie Chinn of the University of Wisconsin. Its very title is testament to where we’re headed:
“Financing U.S. Debt: Is There Enough Money In The World – And At What Cost?”
The authors’ answer is yes, technically, there is enough money in the world – in the sense that, on current projections, by 2020 all it will take to finance the Government of the United States is for the rest of the planet to be willing to sink 19 percent of its GDP into U.S. Treasury debt.”
All things considered at some point you have to take the red pill. Given the relative wealth of the welfare class in the US vs the world and the worlds own issues do you really think the planet will sink year after year into the US 20% of its GDP. And who is the welfare class folks getting:
Government student loans
Medicaid
Medicare
Social Security and Social Security Disability
Government housing
Home mortgage interest deductions
Food stamps
Federal Flood Insurance
Farm subsidies and the ethanol program My personal favorite
The entire VA medical system
Federal Unemployment insurance
And your own middle class welfare Obamacare.![]()
I’m still waiting for CMatt25’s honest answer about this. If he’s so anxious about raising other people’s taxes, why doesn’t he take the lead and set the example?. Is it any wonder that the 75% that pay little or no taxes are enthusiastic about raising taxes on the 25% that due? again one must keep in mind when we hear “progressives” call for shared sacrifice they want to be on the share end of the equation.
He is not alone in this attitude. In 30+ years of preparing federal income taxes I can assure you that every body is absolutely certain about two things: they pay too much in income tax and their neighbor doesn’t pay enough.I’m still waiting for CMatt25’s honest answer about this. If he’s so anxious about raising other people’s taxes, why doesn’t he take the lead and set the example?
Cute!!!He is not alone in this attitude. In 30+ years of preparing federal income taxes I can assure you that every body is absolutely certain about two things: they pay too much in income tax and their neighbor doesn’t pay enough.
I also believe that most people’s definition of “rich” is anybody that makes more money than they do.
Who is paying what. Is it any wonder that the 75% that pay little or no taxes are enthusiastic about raising taxes on the 25% that due? again one must keep in mind when we hear “progressives” call for shared sacrifice they want to be on the share end of the equation.
So, CMatt25, do you have a reasonable rebuttal to this? Why not stand up and put your money where your mouth is? (Quite literally)He is not alone in this attitude. In 30+ years of preparing federal income taxes I can assure you that every body is absolutely certain about two things: they pay too much in income tax and their neighbor doesn’t pay enough.
This is correct.I also believe that most people’s definition of “rich” is anybody that makes more money than they do.
An interesting question, although it would take more than a thread to disentangle. While we are leaving future generations with a lot of debt, we are also leaving them with a lot of assets. The federal government owns assets such as land and gold that future generations have no moral claim to either. Also it depends on the government spends the money. Borrowing money to build roads and schools may be morally defensible because they may result in an increased ability to repay by future generations. On the other hand, making future generations pay for current spending, such as medicare and social security benefits would clearly be immoral. Part of the problem is that the federal government does not distinguish capital spending from current spending. But representing US debt as theft is interesting. I personally see it as fraud; spending un-born generations income today with no intention of paying it back. But I do not have any background in criminal law so maybe somebody can help me out here.
What? That I am not envious but stand for a sense of fairness, some decency, and social justice. Ok I think I will try that when I’m before Him.Try that when you stand in front of Him.
Did you give everything away yet? Or do you just want to give away what others have?![]()
Again what is fair about generational welfare and 40-50% of wage earners not paying any federal tax? What? That I am not envious but stand for a sense of fairness, some decency, and social justice. Ok I think I will try that when I’m before Him.
 You can stand before Him too and explain why you haven’t given everything away.![]()
It is the powerful and the wealthy who can afford to pay more, who are involved in class warfare. The poor do not have the power or the means to start a war.Since the top 25% of earners in this country pay 84% of the income taxes there is no way one can claim that the poor and middle class are carrying the heaviest burden. . In fact, 43% bear no federal income tax burden at all. As is always the case class warfare arguments fall apart when the facts are made known.
.
And you can stand before him and tell him why you preached a gospel of forcing other people to give everything away to support your views of fairness, decency, and social justiceWhat? That I am not envious but stand for a sense of fairness, some decency, and social justice. Ok I think I will try that when I’m before Him.
 You can stand before Him too and explain why you haven’t given everything away.![]()
They can pay more, but what about all the govermental waste? Aren’t they supposed be good stewards of the tax money they collect? It is the powerful and the wealthy who can afford to pay more, who are involved in class warfare. The poor do not have the power or the means to start a war.
Absolutely right.
So how much of the total income tax burden do you believe is fair for the top 25% to pay?It is the powerful and the wealthy who can afford to pay more, who are involved in class warfare. The poor do not have the power or the means to start a war.
Actually the poor have started many wars usually with the promoters of class warfare leading them. The poor do not have the power or the means to start a war.
I’m beginning to think he has no answer for this other than “fairness.”So how much of the total income tax burden do you believe is fair for the top 25% to pay?
. Are you contending that the 75% who pay little or no federal income tax are poor?
Yep. look up the coalmine wars of WV and Mother Jones…My grandpappy was in them.Actually the poor have started many wars usually with the promoters of class warfare leading them.
Other than the French. Resolution, the Communist revolution in Russia, , the Mexican Revolution and just about every revolution in the history of mankind you’re right.I. The poor do not have the power or the means to start a war.
