The problem here is that neither party is willing, nor have they ever been willing to do any heavy lifting. The republicans controlled the White House and the Congress from 2002-2006 and they were not willing to do any heavy lifting then, so now we are supposed to believe that they are the party of fiscal responsibility?
Because the Democrats are committed to much higher taxes [expiration of Bush tax rates … which are way too high … uncompetitively too high … PLUS much higher Obama rates PLUS corporate tax rates MUCH higher than competing nations], much more stringent environmental rules [MUCH higher energy costs … $10 per gallon gasoline as in Europe and MUCH more expensive electricity (skyrocketing up, per Obama’s campaign promise) and energy and industrial plants shut down)] … PLUS the hugely high costs of ObamaCare which will hit in 2013.
You can bet that unemployment … 5% under Bush … 9% under Obama … will rise to 15% under Obama II … no sane company will open an office, or a factory or any other facility in the United States … the Las Vegas casinos are all exploring developing their operations in Macao and elsewhere in anticipation of Las Vegas becoming a windblown desert bump in the road. High taxes in the U.S. would be suicidal to any company when lower taxes were readily available elsewhere.
There are Canadian companies, Tim Horton comes to mind, formerly incorporated in Delaware have reregistered themselves in Canada. This is money out of the pocket of the United States.
But, the Democrats are committed to that.
Look at Argentina … it used to be a first world country like the United States. Then it embraced Peronism … and became a third world country.
You can look at Argentina under Peron for the future of the United States.
Look at socialist Greece for today’s example of the future of the United States.
Look at Zimbabwe … It used to be the most prosperous country in Africa … the breadbasket of Africa … when it was Rhodesia … now look at it … it is the basketcase of Africa … rife with thugism. Everyone is starving. Same country … but now under socialist crony management.
The (only) alternative to that socialist future for the United States is the Republican party … and not a phony third party … guided by Tea Party principles which are based on the original intent of the Constitution.
