Dem warning: Obama could lose Wisconsin

Axelrod: ‘We Really Believe North Carolina Is Within Our Reach’
Gallup says polls indicate the electorate will go from democrat plus 8 in 2008 to republican 1 in 2012
New Projection: Romney 52, Obama 47
The bipartisan Battleground Poll, in its “vote election model,” is projecting that Mitt Romney will defeat President Obama 52 percent to 47 percent. The poll also found that Romney has an even greater advantage among middle class voters, 52 percent to 45 percent
54% Favor Repeal of Obama’s Health Care Law

Minnesota moves from ‘solid Obama’ to ‘lean Obama’

Only from thevstandpoint that our Country and it’s citizenry will be suffering to the extent that it will really wake everyone up,especially those who obviously prefer to stick their heads in the sand and refuse to see what awaits us with another term for O. Don’t get me wrong,I am praying mightily that God will bless us with a new president next Tuesday,I just don’t want to fall into a state of despair if it goes otherwise.
I will certainly be very depressed over an Obama victory. The transformation of America under Obama, including the country’s unprecedented divisiveness, has left me cold about my American identity. Even if Romney wins, within time I believe America will inevitably become a secular welfare state. Fair share, fair shot, etc., it all smacks of socialism, wealth redistribution, and secular humanism. The environmentalists, atheists, gays, unionists, minority blocs, socialists, and other liberal constituencies will grab the reins of federal government and dictate all social and fiscal policy. My family and I are not members of the liberal constituency, so I predict a dour personal future. It will simply be delayed if Romney were to temporarily blunt the onslaught of Obama’s vision for America. Demographics will inevitably cause the decline of conservatism and the Republican Party. The decline of America will continue unchecked, including rising annual deficits, an insurmountable national debt, stagnant or rising unemployment, sharp divisiveness among the American populace, a socialist health care system, cap and trade environmentalism, and the decline of American Christianity. Did I leave anything out?

He did give man free will, no doubt.

However, the Battle of Lepanto leaps to mind. 😉
The forces of the Ottomans (Muslims) met the forces of the Holy League (Catholics) and were soundly defeated.

I believe victory had more to do with the superior seamanship and fighting tactics of the Holy League than to bands of angels coming down in its favor.

🤷

:confused:Yes,as I assume most Dems,at least those who believe in prayer, are doing forvObama;)
I pray to accept God’s will and for the good of the country. I don’t pray for a specific outcome.

I don’t believe that God is a pro-Romney or a Pro-Obama individual. He’s got bigger stuff on his plate.

Game Over, Man
Last Thursday, Hugh Hewitt interviewed John McIntyre, principal contributor to Real Clear Politics, for an overview of what all the recent wave of polling data tells us. The transcript of their interview is here.
The two takeaways were this: 1) In the ten most recent national polls included in RCP’s average, one number was remarkably consistent – Barack Obama’s number is pegged at 47%. Asked what that told John McIntyre, he replied, “[Obama’s] likely to lose.” 2) Hugh questioned J-Mac what he made of Ohio numbers that don’t necessarily square with the rest of the national numbers, and John had this to say:
Well look, you know, our Real Clear Politics average had it at about five, five and a half before the first debate. It’s now at two. And these state averages lag the national average. So I suspect that if the national average just stays where it is, to continue to tighten. And then you get a dynamic so it’s like the President’s at 48% in Ohio. But if he’s at 48% on the ballot test, and he’s only up a point in the average? That almost, the edge almost leans to Romney at that matter, because the undecideds are probably going to break, you know, they’re not, it’s very unlikely they’re going to break for the President. So I think with the fact that the state polls lag the national polls, so I think Ohio’s actually closer than two points right now. And you give, you know, the President’s not at 50%. He’s at 48%. I would give, right now, the slight edge to Romney in Ohio.
Now it’s Monday, 8 days before the election, and the lag factor seems to be catching up, according to Rasmussen. Governor Romney now leads the President in the crown jewel of swing states, Ohio, by 2 points. Add to that bit of data a $2.1 million dollar ad buy in Pennsylvania, the fact that Team Obama is having to dispatch Bill Clinton to try and defend Minnesota, and Wisconsin and Iowa continuing to show good signs, I’m this close from uttering the words.

It doesn’t mean I can’t write them down, though.

The wind favored the Muslims at the outset. All of Europe was praying the Rosary. The wind shifted, favoring the Christians. Saved Europe from being another Muslim controlled area.

My point is the good Lord has intervened because of prayer, both regionally and individually.

Yeah. I’m repulsed when some high school football teams pray for victory. Pray that no one gets injured - Yes! pray that your team wins some insignificant game - chutzpah.

But angels are WAY more exciting.

IMHO, the Rosary had nothing to do with it - the victory, that is. Good to pray that fewer men were killed or crippled, yes! But, it’s presumptuous and perhaps blasphemous to attribute a military victory to God. It reminds me of tee-shirts of the 1950s that read, “Kill a Commie for Christ” and showed Our Lord gripping a bayoneted rifle and driving the blade into a dying Communist’s heart.

Your call, okay, but I disagree.

Nope,I think you pretty much covered it.Having said that,I am so grateful to be a person of faith,if ever it was needed, the time is now and in the future.

Our Lady of the Rosary/Our Lady of Victory… The Rosary is very important. I need to get mine said, as well as the special Novena I am saying starting today until Election Day.

His Holiness of Blessed Memory Saint Pope Pius V disagrees with you 😉
Back in Europe countless Catholics were praying rosaries at the request of Saint Pope Pius V for the success of the Christian fleet.
At the hour of the battle, and this fact is very well attested, the Pope was talking to some cardinals in Rome. He abruptly ceased the conversation, opened a window and looked heavenward. He then turned to the cardinals and said: “It is not now a time to talk any more upon business; but to give thanks to God for the victory he has granted to the arms of the Christians.” So that Catholics would never forget Lepanto and the intercession of Mary, he instituted the feast of Our Lady of Victory. .

That’s what the re-education camps will be for. To make you see the error of your thinking and to fix your selfishness and conform you into a person who thinks more about the greater good of society than your petty ambitions.

Your call, okay, but I disagree.
Pope Pius V would not have agreed with you.

On October 7, the Roman Catholic Church celebrates the yearly feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. Known for several centuries by the alternate title of “Our Lady of Victory,” the feast day takes place in honor of a 16th century naval victory which secured Europe against Turkish invasion. Pope St. Pius V attributed the victory to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, who was invoked on the day of the battle through a campaign to pray the Rosary throughout Europe.
The feast always occurs one week after the similar Byzantine celebration of the Protection of the Mother of God, which most Eastern Orthodox Christians and Eastern Catholics celebrate on October 1 in memory of a 10th-century military victory which protected Constantinople against invasion after a reported Marian apparition.
Pope Leo XIII was particularly devoted to Our Lady of the Rosary, producing 11 encyclicals on the subject of this feast and its importance in the course of his long pontificate.
In the first of them, 1883’s “Supremi Apostolatus Officio,” he echoed the words of the oldest known Marian prayer (known in the Latin tradition as the “Sub Tuum Praesidium”), when he wrote, “It has always been the habit of Catholics in danger and in troublous times to fly for refuge to Mary.”
“This devotion, so great and so confident, to the august Queen of Heaven,” Pope Leo continued, “has never shone forth with such brilliancy as when the militant Church of God has seemed to be endangered by the violence of heresy … or by an intolerable moral corruption, or by the attacks of powerful enemies.” Foremost among such “attacks” was the battle of Lepanto, a perilous and decisive moment in European and world history.
Troops of the Turkish Ottoman Empire had invaded and occupied the Byzantine empire by 1453, bringing a large portion of the increasingly divided Christian world under a version of Islamic law. For the next hundred years, the Turks expanded their empire westward on land, and asserted their naval power in the Mediterranean. In 1565 they attacked Malta, envisioning an eventual invasion of Rome. Though repelled at Malta, the Turks captured Cyprus in the fall of 1570.
The next year, three Catholic powers on the continent – Genoa, Spain, and the Papal States - formed an alliance called the Holy League, to defend their Christian civilization against Turkish invasion. Its fleets sailed to confront the Turks near the west coast of Greece on October 7, 1571.
Crew members on more than 200 ships prayed the Rosary in preparation for the battle - as did Christians throughout Europe, encouraged by the Pope to gather in their churches to invoke the Virgin Mary against the daunting Turkish forces.
Some accounts say that Pope Pius V was granted a miraculous vision of the Holy League’s stunning victory. Without a doubt, the Pope understood the significance of the day’s events, when he was eventually informed that all but 13 of the nearly 300 Turkish ships had been captured or sunk. He was moved to institute the feast now celebrated universally as Our Lady of the Rosary.
“Turkish victory at Lepanto would have been a catastrophe of the first magnitude for Christendom,” wrote military historian John F. Guilmartin, Jr., “and Europe would have followed a historical trajectory strikingly different from that which obtained.”
Neither would Pope Leo XIII:

My point is the good Lord has intervened because of prayer, both regionally and individually.
What intervened to give the Christians the advantage was their numerical superiority in artillery for one - the Christians had 1,815 guns, while the Turks had only 750 with insufficient ammunition. And secondly, the Christians had arquebusier and musketeer forces, while the Ottomans had only composite bowmen. Guns vs arrows? More than 2 to one in cannons? You do the numbers.
