**Well then, think of taxes as donating to charity. **

And yes, of course I pay income tax. I am self-employed so I pay more tax than most on this board.

I’m not at all worried about next Tuesday (Obama will win), but should Paul Ryan win in 2016 (let’s hope America isn’t that stupid), your children would be forced to give birth after a rape and also would be faced with a coupon in a certain amount of dollars to cover ever rising medical expenses.
Taxes aren’t charity. Paying what you are required to pay by law is not “giving.”

As far as giving birth to a child after a rape, what is it you prefer? Do you believe the child deserves to be killed?

Ok, then walk us through the causal link.
Clinton had the benefit of the dot.com bubble which created overnight millionaires and also more start up companies than the country had seen in a long time. Clinton also helped to create the housing bubble, which during his tenure as president, made things look good as home prices were rising due to people who would not have qualified for loans previously getting in the market. Unfortunately, someone else was left holding the bag when the check came due. A not insignificant portion of the mess we are in now can be traced directly back to the policies he pushed on home ownership and loan qualifications.

Get out! Really?
Thank you both and God bless you both for your service.
All very true, except that my service was lack-luster to say the least and I spent most of my Air Force time in the gym, of course He Man did too, hence the name.

Ask him about the “sock” incident. Better yet, don’t ask.

A child conceived in rape is innocent!!!

And Paul Ryan is an authentic Christian.

The same people who want to cut defense want to ramp humanitarian aid and want us to get involved in places like Darfur. Both will cost billions. So it comes down to “fight for the causes we support” in the end.
Try gutting the intelligence and laying off tens of thousands of workers, and see what that does the unemployment rate, and rate of successful terrorist attacks as well.
Somebody has to get laid off in the end. That’s why either we all should suffer and show solidarity, or nobody should and we ride this debt thing out and see what happens. Certainly the defense budget is very important but it’s also the biggest and needs to be slimmed down like Gov. Christie.

Obama said himself his policies are going to be based around fairness, not actual success. Which is what liberals strive for - fairness. Reality and facts don’t stop them from promoting fairness.

And when companies like Darden and Sears cut all full time workers to 38.5 hours/week to avoid the cost of healthcare, what then?

Entrepreneurs generally became successful because they were pretty clever folks. They aren’t just going to sit back and not adjust when obstacles come their way. They generally always win, unless we have a society where their business is forcibly taken from them.
This is exactly what has happened to my two younger children. Both work for national chain stores, and they are cutting just about everyone’s hours back to just under 40/week. This is the reality of today’s business world, which is global.

You speak in generalities. How would you know what people on this board pay in income taxes:confused:

As far as your outrageous comments about Paul Ryan, all I can say is mean spirited and false:mad:

We will become a country of part time workers, struggeling to make ends meet,if O gets another term:mad:

What kind of person would want their grandchildren killed, regardless of how they came to be? What have these children done to deserve the death penalty?

I would rather my daughter heal from the rape and not add killing her child to her problems.
The first she had no control over, the second she does. Talk to post abortive mothers who
aborted after being raped.
You have a very distorted view of the solutions to our healthcare problems to come up with
the comment about a “coupon”
We don’t even know the half of the ramifications of Obamacare, but many of what we do
know will result in lesser services for all especially the poor and elderly.
And, of course, we have the HHS mandate. I have yet to see you respond to this.
Obama was a mystery to some, even many, in 2008. His experience in the Illinois senate
and the US senate consisted of mainly “Present” votes and running for president.
We now know he is gravely serious about promoting abortion and wildly inept in dealing
with the economy.

I agree with your point that the defense budget should be examined for possible cuts. However, when you say “we all should suffer and show solidarity”, I assume you mean we should all pay extra taxes to eliminate our national debt of $16 trillion. Okay, fine. I want *everyone *drawing income to pay their fair share of taxes. I don’t even mind retaining a progressive federal income tax code, so long as everyone has skin in the game. All potential voters will thus pay something, rich and poor alike. For the half of the country who currently pay no federal income taxes, It might affect their outlook on elections if they themselves have to pay for the services they so dearly cherish.

Four years after he was elected as a self-described ‘hopemonger’ promising a new post-partisan era, President Barack Obama is trying to claw his way to re-election with an ugly, divisive campaign in which he is playing the role of fearmonger-in-chief.

I hope Americans see this as clearly as our British friend sees it. Obama is showing greater desperation by the day. From a newly minted 20 page glossy brochure illustrating a ‘plan’ for his second term to constant misrepresentations in advertising and television interviews, Obama is throwing everything at the electorate to retain the presidency.

Gallup say party affiliation will be plus 3 republican in 2012. It was democrat plus 12 in 2008

Gallup noted:

Romney currently leads Obama 52% to 45% among voters who say they have already cast their ballots. However, that is comparable to Romney’s 51% to 46% lead among all likely voters in Gallup’s Oct. 22-28 tracking polling. At the same time, the race is tied at 49% among those who have not yet voted but still intend to vote early, suggesting these voters could cause the race to tighten. However, Romney leads 51% to 45% among the much larger group of voters who plan to vote on Election Day, Nov. 6.

If this information is true (and I say if), a Romney victory by at least 6 percentage points is indeed possible, if not probable. Obama can pack his bags, return to Chicago, and spare America further damage.

It is my understanding that he is going to Hawaii and has already purchased property there (or someone has done it for him) near the University of Hawaii.
