Oh yes. I am not talking about the current flap. This was during the time that the Libyan ground forces were moving on civilians. Mr Obama’s military advice was to join the British and the French to enforce a no-fly zone. When he asked the generals what that would accomplish, they shrugged, and looked like idiots at each other. So, he turned to the field officers on the perimeter of the room (i.e… colonels), who would normally not speak in such a meeting. He asked their opinion on options which would actually accomplish something. Then he told the generals to think about it more, and come back in two hours with a plan of action which would actually save lives.
Now… the conservative press had Mr Obama on a pillory for not taking decisive military action while all of this was taking place. Once the plan was announced, they crucified him for taking military action. And I mean… these were exactly the same voices. They reversed tack on a dime.
So, always keep in mind that the media spins every action by every politician to their advantage. Which means, maintaing their market share by spinning facts in a disingenuous way.
