I enjoyed Father Z’s rant on the subject, too, by the way:

What the President did was vile. Even though everyone knew that was his position, how vile to hear it framed in that way, publicly given voice.

He is an embarrassment to the United States. He is actively tearing at one of society’s most important social bonds. What he did is harmful to our country and to every citizen of every age, even those of same-sex attractions. It was NOT a reflection of either charity or the Golden Rule in any Christian sense. The Golden Rule does NOT mean “you do what you want and I’ll do what I want”.

Pres. Obama MUST be voted out of office.

Well, it’s out in the open now ((though anyone with half a brain knew that he supported
this all along and was lying about being undecided, simply because he wanted to wait until he felt the political winds were firmly in his direction.

But.
This is the man who was the ONLY legislator in Illinois to take the Floor and actively, vehemently oppose the BORN ALIVE INFANTS Protection Act. This was to prevent the practice of some abortionists of killing the live newborn AFTER it has emerged from the womb fully alive. In other words, this diabolical individual supports not only full term abortions but actual infanticide, the killing of born-alive infants.
That was public knowledge, but it didn’t stop
55% of so-called “Catholics” from voting for him ((things like minimum wage increases
and the fate of snail darters were much more imporant issues, don’t you see. The man advocates the legality of the murder of newborn babies? We can live with that and receive communion too. “We” are “modern day” Catholics, “American” Catholics,
“democracy-believing” Catholics and no Catechism or Magisterium is gonna tell us who to vote for.))

And this latest non-surprise won’t stop probably 55% of Catholics giving him the vote again this November, either, along with a growing chunk of the once solidly-pro-life
Evangelical voting bloc too.

I sincerely believe that any Christian who knowingly votes for men and women who hold and who publicly proclaim that they hold, these positions and are going to enact them into law if elected or re-elected, are quite possibly committing the sin of Judas Iscariot and maybe even the sin described at Matthew 12: 31, 32 and Hebrews 6: 4-8 and Hebrews 10: 26-31. They are definitely betraying their faithful Catholic brothers and sisters who have spent years and sometimes tens of thousands of dollars a piece, fighting for pro-life and pro-family, pro-traditional marriage. With “friends” like this, seriously, who needs enemies? This isn’t a matter of belonging to a different party or voting for a different candidate with different economic views only. This is about voting, deliberately and knowingly, for men and women who out and out advocate the killing of babies, who out and out advocate forcing the church to PAY for these demonic things ((which therefore is treason against the church of Jesus Christ to support such people, it really is, when you think about it, for they are going to persecute Christ’s Church for not complying, you just wait, they’ve even SAID that they are and that the huge fines are a’coming…real soon )).

Unless there is a massive, nationwide repentance on the part of the majority of the American people from supporting these people and a firm determination on their part
to never vote for any of them again for any public office at any level,
then this Nation is absolutely Finished, and the wrath of God supernaturally falling upon
it and upon those who helped bring all this about, will not be long in coming.
Our Lady has been warning us for two centuries now, that these times were rapidly approaching. Well, they have arrived, and, appallingly, with the help of a huge
chunk of Catholic and other Christian voters.

**C) I do not recall His Holiness or any of my last 2 Bishops ever telling me I could/couldn’t vote Mr. Obama. Everything else is a personal opinion and is not binding. **

Then, if that is the case, both of them failed to correctly inform us.

But that isn’t so. Catholics and all Christians and all people, Catholic or not,
are forbidden by God almighty to deliberately cooperate in the planned commission
of Evil Acts. The Church clearly teaches this, whether the holy Father or your or my bishop ever explicitly address the issue in the framework of discussing presidential or congressional elections.

This man and nearly all the running congressional members of his party, advocate the killing of the unborn, advocate forcing the church to pay up to support all of it or else, very soon, start paying gargantuan daily huge fines, advocate calling same sex unions for the purpose of committing sodomy, “marriage,” which is blasphemous as GOD, not society, ordained marriage way back in the mists of pre-history. And, being 51 and having watched liberals in action in my former denomination, the PCUSA, I know how they operate. They assure you that they “only” plan to go “just so far,” and then once you allow them to, they then go MUCH FARTHER than they promised you they would, and they intended to all along. These people, committed liberal Ideologues, are pathological and willful liars who act with the malicious intent of overturning all the moral codes of God, both IN the church as well as OUTSIDE the church, in society and politics and law.
Any time they tell you that they only plan to go “just so far and no further,” do not believe it, they are lying through their teeth. I watched them, in action, destroy a once-great protestant denomination, the mainline Presbyterian church. Their doctrinal and moral pronouncements that now emanate from their annual general assemblies, are sickening and revolting. They, just a few years ago, gained total control of the also once-great ELCA and have turned that denomination into a vehicle for the antinomian agenda.

So, whether the pope ever specifically addresses the U.S. elections, or a local bishop does or doesn’t, is beside the point. These polticians advocate abortion, infanticide, overturning god-ordained marriage, blasphemously re-defining the family unit, and a host of other extremely wicked things. To knowingly vote for them, is to knowingly help them achieve these satanic ends.

I know two priests, one a Dominican professor, the other a Jesuit teacher. Both voted for Obama. In separate conversations with each -over the course of about the last ten months- both have expressed disappointment and dissatisfaction with the Obama Administration’s lies to the Catholic Church, especially in its HHS’s Mandate. Both priests have stated they will not be voting for him again.

While remaining understanding and open to homosexual persons, marriage is a sacrament. It is a sacrament between a man and a woman.

Obama continues to overstep.

It seems, and it is my hope, that those Catholics who tend to be more liberally minded will rethink their positions, and those that had originally voted for Obama will not vote for him again in November.

We must continue to pray.

**He’s not Catholic, so the CCC would not apply and I don’t recall him ever denouncing the Catholic faith. **

There is a widespread gross misconception among many that if one is not “Catholic” then one is not BOUND by God to obey the natural Laws of God. That is utterly false and pernicious. When the judgement comes, we are all going to be judged by those laws that are, in fact, written on the heart of each and every rational human being without exception ((even on the hearts of those who rebel, and promote rebellion, against those laws)).

Obama doesn’t have to say, flat out, “The Catholic Faith Stinks” in order to denounce the Catholic Faith. He has denounced it in a variety of ways, including with his and his apostate secretary’s wicked HHS Mandate.

There is more than one way of saying “5”
You can flat out just say "5).
OR
You can say 1 + 4.
Or you can say 6 - 1.
Or you can say 7 - 2.
Or you can say 2 + 3.
Or you can say 4 + 1.

All mean the same thing. This man’s advocacy of disregarding nearly every moral law of God,
in and of itself,
constitutes a denunciation of the Catholic Faith.
And those Catholics in the administration and Congress who support these things,
are Judases who have committed, and continue to commit, treason against that Faith
and against the crucified and risen Christ who gave It to the world and against all Catholics who are striving to live faithfully according to the Holy Spirit and the Magisterium, both of which the politicians are blaspheming by their rebellious, treasonous, disobedient actions.

And those who knowingly vote for them, knowing what they
publicly stand for ???
If others want to “risk it” and do things like that, that is their choice.
I for one have enough to worry about than to add THAT to the things I’ll have to answer
to God for in the Judgment. I will not delude myself into thinking He is going to smile
at those things. I believe that if I voted for those people, then on Judgment Day, when I met Him and saw His countenance, I would be stricken with a degree and kind of absolute terror that the human mind cannot even begin to conceive of. He is NOT to be mocked.

I agree fully with the Moderator that this thread is not about Abortion.

However, with this Man, this latest fiasco is part of a huge anti-god, anti-family
“package deal,” which most definitely includes that.

I’m kind of perplexed as to why we are always reminded to be charitable when
discussing anti-God politicians, but those who attack the Catholic faith and etc, often viciously, are not reminded of this in general. I do find that a tad curious…

And as for Marriage,
the government can re-define it all it wants.

These unions will never, in reality, be marriages,
any more than CHOCOLATE will ever be Vanilla.
A thing is, what a thing IS,
and Marriage, defined and ordained by God since the beginning of human time,
is, and is only, the lawful, covenental, and for Christians, sacramental, union
of a male and a female. Period.

I wrote this a group of Obama supporters Facebook wall: I wish to be removed from this group. The same sex marriage issue, the women and children contraception coverage… apparently President Obama holds nothing sacred. I am sorry I ever supported him, I wish he was never president, and I think he has done a shocking job as a leader and hope he won’t get another term.

Nice job, Rayush. …and, welcome to CAF!

i bet nancy prays she will be voted in as pope one day.
She would be the pope of cafeteria catholics, with a hairnet instead of a tiara or miter.

Someone put that image into my head a few years ago on these forums and I have never been able to think of our ex-speaker without a hairnet since. Will Obamacare provide therapy to rid me of that image?

Well…I guess I will just write in Our Lord for president. 👍

I cannot vote for Obama and I cannot bring myself to vote for Romney. 😦

Cardinal George took alot of heat for a certain statement…the ground work is being set for it.

Please consider voting for Romney, otherwise you are in effect casting a vote for Obama.

God created marriage. I understand that people who sin want to do what they want to do. But that doesn’t change Truth. It was true in Noah’s time and it is still true today. And that is what this nation should be teaching its children.
President Obama is part of a long line of politicians in the tradition of Pontius Pilate. He may ask the question, “What is Truth?”, but he really is not interested in hearing the answer. For a list of other politicians of this ilk, see Bishop Jenky of Peoria.

I pray you will vote for Romney. Not voting is like helping Obama. We need every vote on the other side to beat Obama. If we have one vote less on the opposite side of Obama, it is one vote less. One vote is critical. If you don’t want Obama to be re-elected, please consider to vote for Romney. Anyone but Obama.

What is interesting is the basis whereby Obama based his support of “gay marriage”.

He stated it’s an equality issue between consenting adults.

Well if it’s all about equality and consenting adults…

Why doesn’t he support someone wanting to marry his sister, his brother, his father, his mother, two women or two women and three men?

What is different in these examples and “gay marriage”?

What logical basis is there?

You certainly can’t argue nor morality. Nor even history or culture, which is replete with incestuous and polygamous marriages.

In fact I would argue there is more sound basis in supporting incestuous and polygamous marriages than “gay marriage”.

Hopefully this will just have the opposite effect that he intended it to have and turn more people away from him.
