What part of logic is eluding you?The new bill actually says nothing about conscientious objection to abortion. As I said before, there is no mandate to force anyone to either have an abortion or to perform an abortion.
It’s a total misinterpretation that Catholic hospitals or doctors would be forced to sponsor abortions. They may be required to refer patients to other facilities, but they are not forced to perform abortions.
My guess would be that the bill will be revised to contain a conscientious objection clause with the caveat that patients receive information on referrals.
re this: “Catholic hospitals or doctors … may be required to refer patients to other facilities, but they are not forced to perform abortions.”
Hello?
We are Catholics.
We can’t and DON’T do that.
Nor would I refer your sister to the mob to contract the murder of your parents or you.
Nor would I refer your uncle to services of prostitutes and escorts.
We DON’T refer for abortion.
What are you thinking?
