Obama took Ohio by 2% and Florida by 1.5% against McCain.
Raise your hands if you believe that Obama will do better than 2008 in those states.

Obama supports abortion
Obama supports infanticide (have you heard of partial birth abortion?)
Obama wants to redefine religion
Obama wants to redefine human rights
Obama wants to force Catholic employers to finance abortion, contraception, etc etc.
Obama is certainly not a friend of the Church
Are you?
He has provided them fantastic rhetoric and plenty of envy and hatred for those who are doing better than they are.I still havenāt see how high employment, a record for lower median family income, a devalued dollar, and record deficits that enable record cumulative debt helps the poor?
The wealthy survive both democrats and republicans in the White House; very few others have that luxury.
What am I missing about Obama helping the poor and middle class?
Itās not fair. I live in a state with a conservative legislature and a Tea Party governor elected in the midterm wave. But who polls suggested within a yr voters were having 2nd thoughts about putting into office⦠At any rate he seems uninterested in working with Obamacare. And Iām just grateful to God we will have federal guidelines then. Because itās not fair the good people of a state like yours are not denied and others are. Thatās why I donāt believe everything can be left to the states. No need to apologize. You are perfectly within your rights to believe what you do.
I just happen to see things differently and do not buy into the scenario you describe. I live in Massachusetts where people who make up to 130% of the poverty level get free healthcare through Medicaid. Those who do not qualify get subsidized coverage based on their income level. Nobody pays a tax unless they refuse to pay into a system that is there for them when they need it. That is reality.
Iām sorry that Romney, who has given all of this to us through Romneycare, would deny it to the rest of the nation by repealing Obamacare. It just doesnāt seem fair to the poor, sick and elderly who happen to live in states where the ruling party thinks access to food, housing and health care are not life issues.
What is ānot fairā about your elected representatives doing the will of the people in your state? Perhaps a move to Massachusetts would be a better idea for you?Itās not fair. He represents the stateās overall interests. What is unfair about that? You think every person in every state gets their way?Itās not fair. Sorry, I misread it as Romney will do better.
I think he will do worse
- Catholics swinging Romney
- Itās Romney, not McCain
- Student turnout will probably be near 10%, not near 18%
Agree with all the above. Students are apathetic this year.

Perhaps but there are many reasons why not everyone just pick up and move. What is ānot fairā about your elected representatives doing the will of the people in your state? Perhaps a move to Massachusetts would be a better idea for you?
I do think though that if you could text your vote and based it off of who had the better singing voice, Obama would win.Agree with all the above. Students are apathetic this year.
Realistically, most people donāt move. The point is there is much that goes on in state legislatures and in the US Congress that doesnāt match every desire of every citizen. That is hardly new or unfair.Perhaps but there are many reasons why not everyone just pick up and move.
I am voting for Romney b/c I canāt turn a blind eye to the slaughter of the innocent, AND b/c I have not forgotten the past century littered with socialist and Communist economic failures which have led to unfathomable human carnage. Socialism always fails, although supporters manage to rationalize it and tell themselves that NOW we have the right people to try it.I agree with CMatt also, but as Meltzer said, be prepared for the onslaught.
I would like to add that though I am pro life, I have discussed my choice extensively with my pastor and have read the USCCB Faithful Citizenship bulletin, and my personal feeling is that voting for Romney and Ryan and all they stand for would be a serious enough grave evil to sway my vote despite Obamaās pro choice stance. Thatās my feeling and my opinion, having read, thought and studiedāplease donāt attack it and I wonāt attack yours.
If you gotta go you might as well have a good view on the way out. . .So, you desire to die by being pierced through the heart by a fallen limb from a tree? I could think of better ways to go.
I moved from California, and wild horses couldnāt drag me back there. Iāve turned down a few job opportunities, because I have a good memory. The higher pay sounds enticing, until you look at the cost of living, taxes, schools, etc. Even though my state and area arenāt as conservative as I am, it is 20x better than that!Realistically, most people donāt move. Itās the heat that gets me, not the cold. And Vermont winters can freeze the buttocks. My sister lives in Manchester Center. :snowing: :snowing: :winter:
