If its “charged” then the best thing to do is bury it. or at least bury it in salt before throwing it away.
i will warn you that charged items (and any stones, really due to water and air pockets) have an unfortunate tendency to throw sparks and or shatter explosively when burned.
If the wand was made and blessed by a HP then the ideal thing to do would be give it back to that person. failing that give it to whoever is their heir within that religion. the thing that has helped me to move more smoothly away from such paganism without “fits” from others is to respect any items as “someone’s religion, just not mine” and treat them like i would treat any other religious object.
It wasn’t just blessed, there was an invocation placed on it as well, specifically for me. I think the wand is the hardest thing I’m going to have to get rid of, because I know how much work went into it, and it’s finely crafted, but again, it’s not worth my soul ya know.
My thread and questions aren’t meant as a disrespect towards anyone else’s beliefs at all, they are meant for clarification on how I can get these out of my house, based on what I know about these items and the fact that I’m having some very unusual things happening in my life at the moment that may be because they are here.
if that isnt possible for you, then i suggest you pick a time when hubby isnt home. and carefully dis-assemble it.
The way it’s crafted it won’t be possible to disassemble it.
i would strongly suggest that you tell your husband that you are needing the space on your bookshelf, and asking him which of your books he considers he has any interest in… (thus derailing a “fit” … after all, you just need some bookshelf space, right?)
then take the rest to “Goodwill” (except don’t. take them to recycling or the dump, but he will likely freak less if you say its going to a used book store or something)
This is a great idea, thanks! I probably just won’t mention I’m taking it anywhere, maybe just let him assume. I don’t really want to lie.
a Ouija board? oh. oh wow… that needs to GO! even most of the traditional and hard core pagans wouldnt like one of those in their house… never dial up that which you cant hang up on! having one of those is like publishing your home address on an internet chat and yelling “free booze”.
Well, it’s not really a ouija board, it’s a channeling board, again, handcrafted, blessed, and charged. Same concept though, the difference is it’s wood, handmade, it also has nordic runes on the back as well as the standard alphabet on the front, but not in the same pattern as the ouija type.
Yea, as far as what you said, I agree, major open door. It was given to me years ago and I only used it like twice, had some very strange happenings and put it up ever since.
other than that i suggest you consider which items may give you temptation, and which items have a … darkness… clinging to them. get rid of them . the other items can be handled slowly over time.
I understand what you’re saying here, I just assume to get it all out in one shot though. After I got home from the hospital when I knew I wasn’t supposed to be pagan anymore (another long story and you can find it here if you search my other threads), I put everything up, so it’s all in a central location, I just have to get it out.
and pray for your husband. i will keep you both in my prayers
I do, daily, and I pray for my kids too. My old lifestyle has them spiritually all messed up. 4 kids- 1 protestant, 1 atheist, 1 dabbling in satanism, 1 just not sure what he believes. I’ve seen God moving in both my husbands life, my daughter who’s protestant, and my atheist son’s life (when I first started RCIA, he was the only one supportive of me, go figure lol)
i do feel for you. i ran a new age store for years. i belonged to a very Traditional wiccan group. i still am slowly removing things from my life.
I was in a few different covens, one traditional, one eclectic. I used to run local classes for those that were curious about the pagan lifestyle, and wicca specifically. I guess I’m lucky because God made it very clear to me that I shouldn’t be doing all of this in 2005 and it was easy for me to just stop. Of course I went through 4 years of wondering what I was supposed to believe then

It was last Aug I got my answer, very clearly, that I am supposed to be Catholic… which was the last thing on my mind to be lol.
i advise STRONGLY that you get in the habit of the daily rosary. i also suggest you buy a good scapular. they dont all come laminated with itchy paper ! i got mine from the nuns of st Carmel and its soft and comfy and all fabric…come to think of it i need a new one since i gave my best one away.
Part of my conversion had to do with a strong urge (out of the blue) to learn the Rosary. I learned it with a Rosary site online and prayed it looking at my computer screen lol. Since then, I’ve acquired quite the collection of Rosaries here

I’m not sure exactly what a scapular is just yet, I’m learning as I go though
