I have to disagree here. Mormons have a lot of doctrine and practices that are NOT in there scriptures. Mormon doctrine is all about continuing revelation and priesthood authority. The Temple is an excellent example. you will find the sacrament prayers in LDS scripture but not the temple ceremony. Mormons teach that the current prophet is the most relevant guide to God’s will and scripture is the way it was at the time it was written. They believe God continues to reveal NEW things that sometimes supersede scripture. polygamy, united order, racial restrictions on priesthood. Sometimes the changes Are made to the scriptures (although sometimes it takes a long time) and sometimes they never put the changes in scripture.
Where do you get this stuff? I’ve been a Mormon all my life and if anyone tried to teach what you claim above, they’d immediatley corrected for promoting bizarre doctrine.

You are focusing on the wrong thing. The thing that you need to focus on is that the LDS Church is true. It is led by the Lord, by revelation, by real prophets and Apostles today, as it was in the early days. The Book of Mormon is true. It is a revelation from the Lord; and a book of scripture like the Bible. The early Christian church did apostatize, and God has now restored His true Church on earth as prophesied in the Bible. Joseph Smith was a great prophet, and an instrument in the hand of the Lord through whom that restoration took place. please… it was openly taught for years. read the writings of your prophets like “the teachings of the prophet joseph smith”, “doctrines of salvation”, “answers to gospel questions”, “mormon doctrine”, “the Journal of discourses”, “modern day prophets speak” and many other works written by LDs “prophets, seers and revelators”. why don’t you go to www.lds.org and search the curriculum library for “eternal progression”. Then again you could just read D&C 132, or go to the temple and see what the endowment teaches.Perhaps you are too young to remember the hardcore version with penalties but even the 1990 version backs this up.
The two witnesses in Revelation 11, wearing sackcloth symbolizing lamentation and repentance, cannot readily be identified. Do they represent Moses and Elijah, or the Law and the Prophets, or Peter and Paul? Most probably they refer to the universal church, especially the Christian martyrs, fulfilling the office of witness. There are two of them because of Deuteronomy 19:15 (“One witness alone shall not take the stand against a man in regard to any crime or any offense of which he may be guilty; a judicial fact shall be established only on the testimony of two or three witnesses.”) and because of John 8:17 (“Even in your law it is written that the testimony of two men can be verified.”) Also, Jesus (in Mark 6:7) “summoned the Twelve and began to send them out two by two and gave them authority over unclean spirits.”
Because the Gentile members of the community enable it to stand out clearly from Judaism.
Just because person A wants to learn of person B doesn’t automatically make person A a disciple of person B. Even Wikipedia recognizes that Christians believe that Jesus offers the only path to salvation, and that it is only possible because of him; and that Christians identify themselves as monotheistic, believing that there is one God; and that the doctrine of the universal, visible church was first made explicit in the Apostles’ (and later the Nicene) Creed. So, the Nicene Creed has a lot to do with who is a Christian!

And what it means to them?I recently learned that Mormons display occult symbols in their temples.I’ve always welcomed those who have knocked on my door. I love informing them of what catholics believe. This makes me very nervous though. I don’t think they realize the evil they are messing with, but satan does. Could I be letting in evil spirits that are attached to the missionaries because of their attendence at these temples? Should I bless my home with holy water before a visit? I hate to tell them to not come back. If anyone is knowlegdable about these things please let me know.
Go and read the Book of Mormon and pray about it, and you will gain a testimony that it is true.

They just please the man and have babies” and asked where you got this stuff. The best you could do was cite 37 volumes of source material and other stuff you expect me to look up? I call your bluff because I’ve read all the books you cite above except for “modern day prophets speak.” (sic) I’m also very familiar with D&C 132 and the endowment. You couldn’t give me a citation from any one of those works supporting your claim above. What’s the matter, don’t you think the truth is a strong enough weapon to counter Mormonism and so you have invent stuff as well?
