Really. You wouldn’t let a liberal pontificate about who is more Catholic for a second, would you?
We conservatives have been listening to liberals degrading us because of an election choice. Over and over and over. and in the meantime also being accused of having no morals and no principles… I believe there was also disbelief that we could call ourselves Catholic…

I guess you could say those stupid conservatives thought they were voting for a movie star because his “private language” that was made public sounded just like the movies and TV shows that our kids are watching these days… Just because you keep saying DT is racist doesn’t make it so… so
It sounds more like YOU are saying that stupid conservatives thought they were voting for a movie star because of media coverage. I know that me saying DT is a racist doesn’t make it so - his words and actions make it so. Plain for all to see if they don’t stick their heads in the sand.

Remember the free air time they gave him. They were sure he would hang himself (THEY HAD DAMNING EVIDENCE) and the vote would go to HRC… Didn’t work this time. HRC was the more flawed candidate… no plan, no change, nothing good for deplorables… which I guess most of us are.

I don’t know if President Trump is a racist or not. What I do know is that he has a knack for saying (or tweeting) things that make it appear that he might be a racist.

I think the very real problem with Trump is that he went into this job with no real understanding what the duties and powers of the presidency are, and no grasp of how to surround himself with people who could actually help him be an effective president. I mean, Bannon, Scaramucci, Jared Kushner, Conway, Flynn, Gorka? Mnuchin, after all that ranting about Goldman Sachs and Hillary Clinton’s ties to Goldman? It’s ridiculous.

The biggest problem with Trump, I’m sad to say, is that I just don’t think he has the temperament or the intellectual horsepower need for the job.

You are the one with blinders on. You only listen to the part of the story you want to hear…

I can understand your misgivings. And I really appreciate that you didn’t call me names because I voted to give DT a chance. Lots of us voted to give a Junior Senator, virtually unknown… a chance, the chance to bring change for the good… now we see we need a different change… as that last one didn’t work out so well for me and my neighbors.

Yep, the Republicans saw him on the main stream media that they don’t trust and said, that’s me. And here we are. Sorry, still looks like you are trying to give the people that voted for him a pass. They own it. He represents the Republican party.

Well, if one says racist things, when is it ok to say he is a racist?

I think it is what you might see in a business man of Trump’s type. He only trusts family and everyone else is an interchangeable part.

He doesn’t, but that was clear before the election. Now we get to go on the self-destructive ride that half the country apparently wants.

If you want the truth it was the MEDIA, MSM to be more specific. They were prepared to trash all 17 GOP runners in the 2016 election but they thought they had the better “evidence” against DT… so they threw all their support on a candidate who cheated Bernie, a candidate who refused to come up with a campaign other than tell what a terrible candidate DT was. She HRC had no plan that she expressed other than continue with the policies of BO. She purposely stayed out of the lime light, having debates during NFL games and on Sunday evenings… She purposely stayed off the campaign trail for extended periods of time, she purposely refused to talk to the press… I know I’m just taking the “bait”. Sorry if you readers are tired of the rehash. I guess I just can’t get it out of my deplorable mind…
I’m not sure how this makes any sense. It’s the media’s fault that the Republicans nominated and voted for Trump? The same media that the right hates with a passion? I’m sorry, I still think it’s the Republicans’ responsibility and they need to own it.
Trump is doing a great job. Just because you don’t like Trump, don’t deny the rest of us the right of supporting him and praising him.

Don’t mix up the talking points.

It’s the media’s fault that Hillary lost, not that Trump was nominated. The media was definitely not pro-Trump during the Primary season. It’s fair to say he was nominated in spite of the media.

First time I had ever heard the word “deplorables”.

Couldn’t believe my ears.

Really, you thought of these. It looks like some others, grinding a polemical ax, decided to play these up, and you, uncritically, followed along.
Well, she thought to google “Hillary racism” and then posted whatever came up. The verbal gymnastics some on the right will do to keep from confronting their own racism and the racism they support politically is amazing.
Actually, I was aware of a couple from various sources, i.e., Youtube and Politico to be exact, but if you don’t believe Slate and/or the Washington Post, you can do your own search.

But there’s another side to Trump, one that appeals to some very dark elements in America, and that’s what worries me.
I suppose that would be true. But it would be true of Clinton as well. Lots of dark elements in her history and, seemingly, her beliefs. We can’t judge a candidate by the worst of his/her supporters.

How do you base he is dong a great job? He hasn’t signed any major legislation. He isn’t building the wall. He has ticked off a lot of the US’s allies. He hasn’t locked up Hillary. Help me out here.

Well, you better explain that to Petra than because he seems to think that the media is the reason Trump got nominated. I think it was the Republican’s who voted for him that was the reason.

Well, youtube is owned by Google, so I think I am close enough.

The media was a big part in getting him elected, but it wasn’t intentional.
