What an ignorant post.President Busha nd his friends are rolling in big bucks.Texaco has higher profits than in its entire history. Americans wil be chilly this winter in homes they can’t heat because President Bush won’t curtail the excess’s of his buddies. Many Americans who voted for The President are about to get a very Rude awakening.
Oh no, the sky must be falling! Run for your lives!!!President Busha nd his friends are rolling in big bucks.
Profit is not bad. In the US oil companies have had their hands tied by the various environmental groups. They cannot spend their profits on drilling new wells, or building refineries – which would help with the supply of oil and lower the cost. The oil companies are making tens of BILLIONS of dollars profit a year, while poor Americans (and Europeans) are struggling to fill their car with fuel and keep their businesses running.
That can’t be right.

Profit isn’t bad at all, but greed is; and I think oil companies are the greediest ones on the face of the earth.Profit is not bad. Seeing profit as bad is the thing that can’t be right.
Why don’t you just quit supporting the greedy oil companies then? People all over the world are self sufficient in their energy needs. They walk wherever they want to go, gather firewood for heat, carry water from the river. You don’t have to contribute to the energy companies. If you think the prices are too high, don’t buy.Profit isn’t bad at all, but greed is; and I think oil companies are the greediest ones on the face of the earth.

Exactly. Whatever one’s views on profit, excessive profit is just greed, and tens of billions of dollars while millions of ordinary people are struggling to make ends meet is greed, to put it mildly.Profit isn’t bad at all, but greed is; and I think oil companies are the greediest ones on the face of the earth.
Who was complaining back in the 1980’s when oil went bust and those same oil companies were LOSING billions each year? The oil companies are making tens of BILLIONS of dollars profit a year, while poor Americans (and Europeans) are struggling to fill their car with fuel and keep their businesses running.
That can’t be right.

Is this in regards to plane crash in Texas that led to all the problems?Who was complaining back in the 1980’s when oil went bust and those same oil companies were LOSING billions each year?
The government isn’t a black hole. It spends that money on programs that benefit us all.I am always amazed by the fact that so many people whine about oil company profits and greed but none of them direct any anger at the real beneficiaries of gasoline sales…THE GOVERNMENT. If you look at a breakdown of where your gas money goes you find that the government gets more revenue from taxes than the oil companies receive in profit and they do not even do anything to get the gas to us.
That tax money is used for the highways and interstates.I am always amazed by the fact that so many people whine about oil company profits and greed but none of them direct any anger at the real beneficiaries of gasoline sales…THE GOVERNMENT. If you look at a breakdown of where your gas money goes you find that the government gets more revenue from taxes than the oil companies receive in profit and they do not even do anything to get the gas to us. There is the real greed and price gouging.
I have my own opinion on thatMaybe we should just socialize the industry.
I don’t understand your question. Is this in regards to plane crash in Texas that led to all the problems?
My memory is fuzzung, but back in the 1980’s there was a plane crash in Texas that killed several oil big-wigs. Caused all kinds of financial problems, etc.I don’t understand your question.
Peace
Tim
So who gets to decide what reasonable is? Wouldn’t that be the consumer?I have my own opinion on thatbut nevertheless there is certainly a point when profit crosses the line from reasonable to excessive. The oil companies are very far on the wrong side of the line right now.
