If a former Catholic clergyman, who abandoned the Catholic church, parrots the MP party line, that person is also being dishonest. I will pray for Fr. Simon.
Fr. Constatin Simon, SJ, was Doctor of Philosophy and professor of Slavic and Russian History in the Pontifical Oriental Institute (Rome) and he was the vice-rector of the Pontifical Oriental Institute in Rome, and advisor of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian unity.
He gave lectures around the world on Church history.
Some of his books:
Russicum: Pioneers and Witnesses of the Struggle for Christian Unity in Eastern Europe: Leonid Feodorov, Vendelin Javorka, Theodore Romzha: Three Historical Sketches, Volume 1
Rome: Opere Religiose Russe, 2001
Russicum: Pioneers and Witnesses of the Struggle for Christian Unity in Eastern Europe: The First Years 1929-1939, Volume 2
Rome: Opere Religiose Russe, 2002
Constantin Simon, S.J.: Pro Russia: The Russicum and the Catholic Work for Russia. Rome: Orientalia
Christiana Analecta 283, Pontifical Oriental Institute, 2009
His mother was a Ukrainian Greek Catholic. His home parish, St. Mary’s was a UGCC.
Some posters here go around with their insults, suggesting that he is a dishonest priest, but I doubt that they have the credentials on Eastern Christianity that Father Simon has. I wonder if they have read anything that he has written.
