Mikhail Saakashvili, an opposition leader, was stripped of his Ukrainian citizenship because he led an anti-corruption campaign. The police, the health system, the education system, are all corrupt with Ukrainians reporting that they have to pay bribes to get anywhere. Many Ukrainian politicians are multi-millionaires although they officially report salaries which are quite low. And Hunter Biden, the youngest son of American Vice President Joe Biden, has been appointed to the board of directors of Ukraine’s largest private-gas producer.

When you mention about superpowers , do you mean Russia and the United States? but the U.S. can support the countries in democratic choice, and then the people of this country should control the new government.
The US is trying to help in the fight against corruption, but still many of the processes in the state should be monitored by the citizens of the countries embarked on the road of democracy.

Many ex-colonial, ex-dictatorial, post-Communist countries who embarked on the path of democracy are so much infected with corruption, opportunistic mentality, laziness and fear, that they need many years to learn to experience the value and power of freedom and democracy.

In the so-called pseudo-States of the LNR and the DNR, the economic and humanitarian situation is much worse than in Ukraine.
Much worse is the situation with payment of salaries, paid work, social services, pensions, not to mention with safety of life.
The citizens of these pseudo States with the nostalgic dream remember the past life, but unfortunately they have become hostages of the new occupational regimes there.

Dude, you cant sell to me cold war era propaganda. We saw how many wars USA started and imposed to get it’s hands on resources and geostrategic positions. The only capitalist countries (Ex-communist) that turn out to be good are in Europe (Not all of them), because it was the will of the EU, and thanks to the EU, not the US. US only makes troubles in Europe. And those countries are Poland, Czech, Slovakia and Hungary, all other countries are used as colonies for the western corporations and cheap labor force for Germany, America and others. And Ukraine is a war zone thanks to CIA funded protests against Yanukovich.

I agree that the national wealth should serve the people and not overseas mega business corporations, but let’s look at the context of the situation. In another case, if the main important strategic properties will lay in the hands of the KGB , it is much worse.

The mobilization of nationally conscious elements in the impoverished multi million country is very important in the context of the situation, but we do not have revolutionary independent leaders-intellectuals like for example Victor Orban or Yanis Varufakis( (although rumor has it that these individuals are promoted with the help of the Kremlin, as well)and despite the fact that a lot of people are sympathetic to Saakashvili , I think that among the opposition candidates we LL not see the Ukrainian Georgie Washington’s, for the reason that oppositional candidates are not independent politicians. It seems to me that behind the scenes capital which is invested in these politicians pursuing not the primary the welfare of the citizens of Ukraine but other profitable goals.

First, the state relatively not so long ago began to develop a market economy, secondly, on this side of the planet, the oligarchs are associated with those who hold in the occupation and stagnation the whole nation just for the sake of increasing the personal wealth.
Thirdly, there are for example some fears of nationalists on the allocation of investments in the food dealings, including for example agricultural sector. Not to mention the technologies that care more about speed and quantity of the product than its quality, and these technologies are gradually being introduced.
Here, fears for the survival of the small farmer, and generally in the regulation of quotas for each country.
History knows the cases when in the countries richest in resources, with rich agricultural lands, millions of people died of hunger , and the example is Ukraine(Holodomor) in the past century.

Therefore, on opinion of Ukrainian extreme nationalists Ukrainian citizens are constantly been robbed and destroyed. Тhey are quite sure that Ukrainians are living in the Jewish occupation, but it creates the illusion that the state with its resources is Ukrainian and is supervised by Ukrainians.
Incidentally this view was literally made by some respectfull in Ukraine personality, who doesn’t even belongs to extreme nationalists, the venerable politician- Stepan Khmara.

While some lay people advocating for prayers for victory over the enemy, some Ukrainians from Galicia so concerned about the fate of the people that they offering as proposition for the Churches of the Byzantine tradition to introduce into the Litany the petition:
"Still pray that the anger of God came from heaven* for those who were interested in the deaths of the “Heavenly hundred”( the youth were killed on Maidan), who started the war in the East of Ukraine and is interested in its endless extension! Let them not escape!** "
(Roman Catholics can add this invitation in the prayers intentions that are announced after the gospel reading. )
Just imagine to what extent people’s soul hurts for what happens on this war, and for the fact that almost every day, coffins from Donetsk and Lugansk, by the “load 200” are sent to different regions of Ukraine…

Some countries have agreed to split up to prevent violence between two differing regions and to promote peace. For example, Kosovo split from Serbia. One solution to the Ukraine situation would be to divide the country in two and separate the warring parties.
