The state has funds available so that their star witnesses can be dressed appropriately at court. Whether that was the case here remains to be seen.

Martin can’t claim stand your ground when he is the one that beat the **** out of Zimmerman. No one saw the initial confrontation and Martins girlfriend is not credible. Additionally Zimmerman had obvious and documented defensive wounds on the back of his head and face but no evidence of offensive actions such as bruised knuckles. Unlike Martin. Even if Zimmerman did follow him, that isn’t against the law.
Wait, I thought Martin hadn’t any bruised knuckles and/or evidence of offensive actions? That’s why Zimmerman’s claim of an attack doesn’t seem likely. Is that what you understand or am I mistaken from the trial/reports?

I’m curious as to your opinion on the fact that they didn’t find evidence of Zimmerman’s blood on the sidewalk. Even though it was raining, there still would’ve been residue on the microscopic level.

So would I.

I am giving no opinion on this trial as that’s not how I will spend my time on CAF but regarding appearance- I hate to see kids dressed casually when they go to court- or adults dressed casually for that matter.

If you don’t dress up at court when would you dress up I have to ask. 🤷
Exactly. So, I would think she probably dressed in her best clothing to testify, but what I think is of little value since I don’t know.

She doesn’t know any better. And probably her parents don’t either.

Not everybody can afford to go buy an outfit (or several) because they have to testify in court. I know I certainly wouldn’t. I would have to wear what I have in my closet which isn’t much. I usually try to have at least one suitable outfit appropriate for Mass but it’s certainly not “dressy” enough for court.

I will pass judgement on this girl for lying and changing her story, but not for what she wore to court. She made an effort to dress as nice as possible.

I don’t remember anything about lack of blood on the sidewalk when was that presented at the trial maybe I missed it?

Having said that though:

What’s your theory as to how Zimmerman got a bashed in head in the back and a broken nose?

Well it’s not my theory, but the conspiracy folks are claiming that Zimmerman ruffed himself up after he shot Martin to try to make it look as if he was attacked by Martin. But, when they showed the pictures of Martin’s body, they did not reveal any evidence of offensive actions. The only thing the defense is trying to use to show that Martin wrestled with Zimmerman is that there was gun “residue” on Martin which came from a scuffle before he was shot. That’s a pretty far-out claim. But you would think if the defense wanted to show that Martin attacked Zimmerman that they would present evidence of Zimmerman on Martin like his blood or hair or skin cells under Martin’s fingernails or something.

I think I have read that Martin’s injuries were bruised knuckles and the fatal bullet wound.

I have read that Zimmerman’s blood on the sidewalk was washed away by rain and I have seen photos of Zimmerman’s injuries the night Martin died.

But, it has been awhile since I’ve read or heard much about the case, so I may be remembering injuries incorrectly. Maybe Zimmerman had bruised knuckles. Anyway, we had several long discussions here at CAF, but it was a banned topic for awhile because it got so heated.

Well it’s the prosecutions case at the moment. The defense is limited to cross examining the prosecution witnesses on the statements that were already presented. Their time to present the defenses complete side of the story will come later.

That’s right, I forgot it was raining that night.

I think the biggest thing that might damn Zimmerman is the fact that the police dispatcher told him not to pursue Martin but to wait for police to arrive…which he didn’t do…that might be seen as confrontational…as for what actually took place I guess only God and Zimmerman know.

It’s so sad all the way around. Two families, one with a deceased love one and another
with a loved one on trial. Not to mention the friends of both .

Let’s pray for justice to be served no matter if the outcome is what we might think with our own mere human understanding.

Mary.

Zimmerman claims he was going back to his truck when he was confronted by Martin. Had he not gotten out of his truck to begin with, it wouldn’t have happend at all.

This. Although, forensic evidence is pretty amazing today, so who knows, we might yet get the truth without spin.

OMGosh…the attorney’s lack of knowledge of Twitter is hilarious! :rotfl:

This may be true, however, if he decided to go back to his truck, and it was Martin who initiated the fight, and Zimmerman was having his head smacked against the ground, then he did have the right, at that point, to use his gun, if he thought he was going to die. Otherwise, someone would have to say he was supposed to lay there and take a beating.

Yes, if he hadn’t gotten out of the truck to begin with, it wouldn’t have happened, but getting out of a truck and trying to get back in a truck to back away from a situation you probably should have avoided, is not against the law.

I agree with all your points.

I don’t know to what you are referring.
Sorry…

At the very tale end of testimony today the attorneys (both prosecution & defense) were claiming that the neighbor testifying was following Zimmerman on twitter. They thought that the people following her were the people she was following. And she was trying to explain it to them even though she said that she doesn’t know much about twitter. I think everyone was confused by the end.

I get a kick out of attorneys sometimes. 😃

I can’t believe the testimony today. The girlfriend testifies that Martin referred to Zimmerman with the N word and as a creepy *** cracker. Then she admits that her first interview with prosecutors was in the presence of Martins mother and the Martin’s family attorney Mr Crump and that she edited her statement because his mother was present. Then we get a tape back of that interview where she is asked a question by the prosecution and instead of answering the actual question she says “you want that too?” implying that she is being coached. She confirmed under cross examination tthat she did say " do you want that too".

And so much for claims that her English isn’t adequate to understand the lawyers because she testified that it was good, that she understood everything the defense attorney asked her the day before and today and that she grew up speaking English from childhood along with Creole and Spanish and that she was born and raised in Miami. She also said cracker and the N word are commonly used by the people she knows.

She also testified that she doesn’t know who threw the first punch when cross examined bty Zimmerman’s attorney.
