Was Z found not guilty specifically due to justifiable homicide or simply failure to convict?
They failed to convict him because they found him innocent of the charges of murder. He killed TM, but he didn’t premeditate it which is what murder is. If there would have been a real case against him they would have convicted him. No one should be convicted on imaginary evidence or just to satisfy a lynch mob.

they didn’t find him innocent. he was always innocent. they found that the government didn’t prove him guilty.

Right. A lot of people seem to have thrown the concept of “innocent until proven guilty by a court of law” out the window. We have two choices, either justice by court or lynch mob justice. And now, ironically, the ones who say they are fighting for civil rights are the ones who are fighting for lynch mob justice.

I accept the verdict, however I do believe jury’s can be wrong and in this I do not believe Trayvon received proper justice.
It’s a lot more likely that you are the one that is wrong since you are the one who didn’t hear all of the facts.

It is so, Can’t win for losing in a crowd such as this!🤷
I don’t know what crowd you’re referring to. the jury’s verdict trumped your opinion. you’ll just have to accept that fact of life.

To me the overwhelming tone in this thread has been accusatory of a young boy simply walking home from the store
I think the response from the right in the Media is shocking, fancy praising the Lord for this tragic shooting of an innocent young teenager who had been profiled as being a suspect of someone up to no good.
Peace, Carlan
Do good young men bash in other people’s heads?

Zimmerman was PRESUMED INNOCENT. It was up to the prosecution to first attempt to convict him of 2nd Degree Murder (a real fool’s errand) and when that failed they tried Manslaughter and finally tossed in “Child Abuse” as a Hail Mary pass. The judge DID allow consideration of manslaughter and clearly the jury considered this but their decision was there was not sufficient proof to meet the standard.

So he wasn’t found “guilty” of self defense, he was found not guilty of the charges brought.

Actually, there were 6 people on the jury
I stand corrected.

I originate from California where they routinely seat a jury of 12.

Boy…this Zimmerman trial was one weird gig! Just goes to show what happens when justice gets*** POLITICIZED***.

I think it “backfired” on the Washington lawyers who were tampering with it.

You don’t?:hmmm:
Yes, they certainly did, and I do accept that fact of life , however, I cannot be happy about it and rejoyce that a young teenager is dead from a gunshot. Peace, Carlan

do you know anyone who is happy he’s dead?

He killed a human being. Zimmerman racially profiled someone, carried a gun with a permit which had given him the confidence to chase Trayvon that scare the *** out of Trayvon… That boy was scared and was angry to be stalked. Trayvon Martin’s life was in danger and acted in self defense. He didn’t know that this nutbag had a gun.
GZ was on the phone with the police. TM was on the phone with a girl. How scared was he exactly?

No one here is rejoicing that he is dead from a gunshot. Many of us are happy that justice was served by the jury though.
