Actually its the libs/dems/cnn/msnbc/nbc etc… that do not support Jesus. You know abortions… late term abortions… supports homosexuality etc. I’m not sure how you could get it all turned around.

And yes… I am pro life. Conservative Independent
You can’t be pro-life only as far as getting people out of the womb alive. A person who was literally doing nothing wrong was shot and killed. He was doing nothing wrong and now he’s dead! Where is the compassion that everyone has for the unborn in the case of this innocent person? At some point, you have to pick between politics and being a Christian. The GOP and Fox News do not represent the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Martin was pounding someone’s head onto the pavement. That is doing something wrong.
Yes, he was. The dispatcher said that he didn’t need to leave his car and that they were on their way.
The dispatcher said that he didn’t need to follow. At that point Zimmerman said, OK and started to return to his vehicle. Zimmerman was never on the phone with the police. He was on the phone with a dispatcher. Zimmerman is under no obligation to listen to or follow the instructions of the dispatcher.

Juror B37 did an interview with Anderson Cooper.

Sorry…there isn’t full video. Bits and pieces of interview here

The jury’s verdict was correct.

The FACTS supported Zimmerman. The EVIDENCE supported Zimmerman. The LAW supported Zimmerman.

What would support a different verdict other than emotion and feelings? The jury got it right
It is tragic that a young man died and another young man’s life has been changed forever,
Thank you Swizzle for posting this quote. But how can we not have emotion and feelings? We pray for peace for this young boys family and loved ones. Carlan

Perhaps this was a technically valid and necessarily constricted verdict given the stand-your-ground law for civilian patrol in the state of Florida. But in several other ways, including apparent racial profiling and active pursuit on the part of George Zimmerman, as well as little consideration of the context preceding the actual confrontation between Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin, the verdict was, in my view, a travesty of justice. The legal system is far from perfect, not being color-blind but one of its problems; and a six-member jury, one of whom was evidently prejudiced from the outset, did not help matters either with regard to the increased pressure exerted on the dissenting jurors, who, during the first vote, were either in favor of manslaughter (2 jurors) or second-degree murder (1 juror). Further, the prosecution, likely disadvantaged from the start by the delay in the arrest of George Zimmerman, was unusually inept in their presentation, based on what I observed.

I think we need to accept the verdict. I think we should pray for the Martin family to find comfort and peace and healing. I think we should pray for the Zimmerman family too. Lastly, I also think we should pray for our American family. I hope we can heal after the damage done due to this case, the media’s divisive handling of this case. I really do.

Maybe this verdict was “as good as it gets …” per justice.

Zimmerman: Not guilty. Free. Still getting death threats though. Made bail he could barely afford. Had bail his $150,000 revoked and a $1 milliion dollar bail put on him after political pressure was brought. A defense fund raised bail money for him. His wife gets asked about it, says she doesn’t have the money (technically … is this true or not?) but when George again makes bail, threats of her being prosecuted for perjury rise up.

So Zimmerman suffered with a cloud over his head when it looked like local law enforcement wasn’t going to prosecute him because they didn’t have a winnable case. The “new” prosecutors bring in a vastly expanded charge - and lost. Their fall back position … manslaughter, in Florida, could have had Zimmerman in jail for 30 years. They did not even try a lesser charge that they might have won.

But Treyvon Martin is dead, a firearm was discharged and if the case was big (if not valid) it may serve to curb the excess zeal of Neighborhood Watch volunteers who pack guns.

And kids may also re-consider the “coolness” of the gang-banger look, which is more dangerous in the proximity of actual gang-bangers if one is (say) wearing the wrong color in the wrong neighborhood.

Had Treyvon Martin been shot by a kid (or an adult of Zimmerman’s age) of his own ethnicity … is this even a story? Would the wounds on the shooters head be seen as justification for self defense THEN … and any prosecution be seen as racist?

And would this all be worse if George Zimmerman looked a lot “whiter” and didn’t have a hispanic ethnicity himself?

Had Zimmerman been found guilty of murder two would the press be running to any outraged hispanics they could find to prove that “America is racist” anyway?

It is almost surprising some radical hispanic group hasn’t taken up the cause and started crying “lynch mob” as it appeared outside forces were brought to bear on law enforcement (the city Chief of Police in Sanford was forced from his job - when it appears now he did nothing wrong, especially since the superzealous people who wrested the case from him have come up empty.

And in the story before the story the mainstream media has ramped up the possibilities of race riots once the verdict would come down. And any incident anywhere that claims a connection to the case makes page 1 or leads the broadcast.

Meanwhile they get to run their messages again about racial injustice, gun control, etc. etc.

So now Eric Holder gives an “it’s not over …” kind of speech that promises to revise history with the power of his office soon.

And the office has substantial powers. Holder has not approached the heavy handed hubris of Janet Reno so far, but an all out full court press on George Zimmerman might be the biggest insult to hispanics since the “Justice Department” flexed its muscles and showed Elian Gonzales’ relatives a thing or two.

youtube.com/watch?v=AgaacrxsS4c < The entire clip is accompanied by a graphic that says “rescued Elian”. While the reference should be to Donato Dalrymple the man who plucked the drowning boy from the sea - the incident led by Reno’s heavily armed troops seems to get the benefit, as if their home invasion were a “rescue”.

I will always remember Dalrymple’s speech here, even as MSNBC’s reporter repeatedly tries to get him to take blame for the incident or help them spin and justify what happened.

Holder will have quite a ways to go to beat this kind of treatment of an innocent person who is in the way of an administration goal. But he should do nothing. Interestingly Holder’s boss, the POTUS, is making “it’s over” kind of speeches now … so between them, they seem to have every angle covered. 🤷

it is a misconception that this was based on the stand-your-ground-law. It wasn’t. There was no racial profiling that is being promoted by racist. Pursuit brings up imagery different to me than following but I guess it could be characterized that way. Although I believe to do so is to inflame what it was. Just like to say that it was a travesty is an over statement. I don’t know what you base your opinion on concerning the jury. I haven’t heard much of what the jury has said. The fact is no matter what happened in the deliberations, the outcome was the verdict that he was not guilty. Considering that there were six jurors it seems far fetched to say that much pressure was exerted especially considering the rather short time that they came to their decision. I wouldn’t say the prosecution was inept but that the evidence wasn’t there and should never have been brought to trial in the first place. That it was brought to trial due to political pressure is the true travesty.

Sad to say, sounds like things are starting to get ugly out in LA, South Central.

We apparently disagree on all counts! Guilty as charged…

Do they even need a reason to riot out there? There doesn’t seem any love lost between the police and some of the citizenry out there.

NB’s Bozell: Race-baiting Media Responsible for Any Post-Zimmerman Verdict Violence
The race-baiting media owe George Zimmerman an apology. A jury of his peers has spoken. Zimmerman was acquitted, and that’s that. Any continuation of the media’s unrelenting, divisive, hate-mongering coverage is an absolute disgrace," NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell argued in a statement released this afternoon.
This is amazing here:
Monday morning, appearing on the Tom Joyner Show, **Al Sharpton suggests George Zimmerman was not prosecuted on the merits of the Trayvon Martin case but more because of the political pressure Sharpton placed on Florida officials with protests and media attention.
**
REV. AL SHARPTON: "Let’s not act like we got in the Florida case because of the merits, we got there by rallying, by protesting and by raising the issue.
TOM JOYNER: That’s true. That’s right.
Have to pray no one is hurt in all this and those who are inciting this trouble, are held responsible.

Penn University Prof Says Zimmerman Let Off Because God Is a ‘White Racist’

thegatewaypundit.com/2013/07/penn-university-prof-says-zimmerman-let-off-because-god-is-a-white-racist/

From the article:

[snip]

University of Pennsylvania religious professor Anthea Butler put blame on God for the Zimmerman verdict. Butler says its because God “is a white racist.”
This woman teaches religion.

She is referring to the god as defined by White Americans, not G-d. Although I can understand her point, I question why she needs to bring G-d into the discussion on racism in the first place since this can easily be misinterpreted.

Which white Americans are these, who have defined God differently? And how have they redefined God?
