We need to stop this type of senseless violence! Carrying concealed weapons needs to be outlawed. Where are people’s Catholic virtues when we Catholics condone such senseless violence in the name of self defense? We are headed to an era of wild gunslingers.

I support the individual right to bear arms, but they may want to reconsider sending amateurs out on watch. A little bit of supposed authority can go to some people’s heads. In my area some Deputy Wildlife Conservation Officers (Part-time Game Wardens) have gained a less than sterling reputation for their tendency to draw their weapons all too frequently.

The Second Amendment disagrees with you and i’m glad to live in a state were concealed weapons are legal.

If you want to be mad, get mad at all of the murders that takes place in Chicago, a city with some of the most strict gun control laws in the nation.

Are you also glad that an innocent 17 year old is now dead due to the irresponsibility of GZ? Again, where are people’s Catholic virtues when it comes to a senseless killing?

And I suppose that the violence in Chicago would magically come to an end with gunslingers bent on being vigilantes? What are you getting at here?

We could argue till we are blue in the face about GZ or TM. However I would like to ask you if you think that all guns should be banned? Can’t people have them to protect themselves from rapists or murderers?

Television then and now, children have grown up watching “GunSmoke” and heaven knows what they are exposed to these days with even more violent crime shows not to mention the new fangled video games. and the perversion that is shown on unsupervised television. Peace, Carlan

Christ said if you don’t have a sword you should sell your cloak and buy one. The apostles traveled with two swords.

I agree. I don’t know who you define though as “dangerous criminals.” Anyone we perceive to be a dangerous criminal? Was TM a dangerous criminal; or someone
who walked home in the rain unarmed and was aware he was being followed?

Was TM a dangerous criminal or was he walking in the rain recognizing he was being followed? Unfortunately we could label someone a suspect in our mind who had done nothing wrong whatsoever to warrant our suspicion.

Are you inferring that the high crime rate will be magically eliminated by allowing gunslinging vigilantes the right to carry concealed weapons? The crime rate will only escalate, with innocent people like TM being shoot dead. Calling the TM case self defense is a misnomer. It’s manslaughter.

27 year old George Zimmerman killed a kid, by the time of 25 years old, he was brought up on charges of Domestic Violence, likely beating a woman, 2 different times, shoved a cop, sounds like a felony, got a reduced charge if he got alcohol treatment. His father as I said earlier, was a low level judge in the system and Zimmerman conceivably may have gotten some favors.

Does this sound like a responsible gun owner?

We don’t have a magic wand though always as to who is a dangerous criminal. I don’t believe TM was a ‘dangerous criminal’ at the time he was being followed. He was walking
in the rain and labeled by GZ as “suspect” when he was doing nothing wrong.
