Thanks Lisa. This is an observation. In my day you took a beating and when home, we didn’t try to kill each other, I know I took a few beatings and learned that I wasn’t a tuff guy. I guess I’d be dead now days.
Dead either way now.

If the attacker happens to be of whatever race the media favors at the time, you could be vilified for making a successful defense. The lives of you and your family would be endangered, and you most likely will discover any reasonable chance at a normal life after to be gone.

We all must answer to God’s judgement.
Some will find it more problematic than others when that happens.

It’s not all down to a “scary appearance”, facts are facts. This does not excuse Zimmerman if he did indeed, profile someone but it’s still a part of this situation:

It’s not hard at all to find some heinous crime a black youth has been involved in, a convenience store being knocked over and the list goes on and on. Don’t you think this is a contributory factor??
If you re-read my comment (#2404), you’ll find I addressed the reality of what you state in it.

Heh. Do you remember a little over a year ago when many claimed: “We just want to see charges brought against Zimmerman, and to have his day in court!”?

Funny how those goalposts move when the verdict doesn’t match the predetermined outcome.

Yep. What they wanted was “justice”…aka vigilante justice. Since the mob didn’t get its way, they continue to vilify the man and call anyone who supports the verdict racist. Fun, isn’t it?

And no one on the left seems to notice that in the process of doing that they are putting women down since it was an all women jury.

I guess that for the left race trumps feminism. And come to think of it Democrats had the chance to choose Hilary but chose Obama instead.

I think the left would have disagreed with any verdict that did not go their way no matter what.

Black caucus appears undecided on call for Florida boycott, asks for broader discussion on race

Members of the Congressional Black Caucus appear undecided so far on whether to support a call for a boycott of Florida over the Trayvon Martin case, with Maryland Rep. Donna Edwards saying Sunday such a move could be “devastating” to some communities in the state.
Edwards, a Democrat, told “Fox News Sunday” that she has yet to fully examine the call to boycott, as proposed by civil rights leader the Rev. Jesse Jackson.

I don’t really know what they hope to accomplish with a boycott of the state. Usually boycotts happen when someone wants something to happen. The trial is over, and decided. It’s not like the state of Florida had any say in the jury verdict. And it can’t be retried or over turned, so what’s the point?

An interesting observation.

There are some news items you just completely avoid since you only have so much attention and gray matter.

I avoided this one. So I voted “I don’t know.”

But generally speaking, I’m a bit frightened at the idea that a mass of whipped up people can simply demonize someone they don’t like.

From what I can tell, the whole matter was pretty ambiguous, and hardly fits at all within the Great Storyline of “white racist attacks innocent black guy.”

This said, I’m sympathetic to the racist concern. . . while recognizing that racism is hardly the worst crime one can commit.

As a friend of mine said, “Only in America could a brown guy kill a black guy and everyone blame a white guy”.

My apologies in advance if this was already said on the thread, but I thought the most significant public remark so far, regarding the entire case, is the defense attorney’s contention that had Zimmerman been black, this case would not even have gone to trial, let alone received the publicity it did.

Yes Captain, but it is up there on the mortal sins list.

Yes indeed. I* too* am very concerned regarding the horrific and* socially sanctioned racism that is now being practiced against Caucasians in the Public Media, by the New Black Panther Party and by the race baiters of the* Democrat** Party.

It is now undeniable that Caucasians, especially male Caucasians, are the target of the Democrat led Liberal Media Machine, IMHO.

AMEN, my thoughts from day one. And he should have been arrested from day one.
