So you have tamed Satan? You are opening Pandoras Box and you should fear it instead of embracing it…I will pray for you.

Megzy:
well i beg to differ lol… it is not a game for people to play w/ and i do NOT recommend anyone doing it unless they KNOW what they are doing because it IS dangerous. i was taught by my mother how to use it because she has supernatural power that she obviously has passed on to me. it’s all fun and games til somebody gets hurt… so DON’T DO IT UNLESS YOU’VE BEEN TRAINED OR KNOW HOW TO CONTROLL IT!!!

Have you ever considered that you are using your God given talents in the wrong way? Is it possible you are being deceived into thinking you are helping people cross over to God? You say that you were able to get rid of a demon that tried to possess you. Have you thought that maybe your talents should be used to help those who are possessed? That maybe the devil knows this and has sidetracked you?

I don’t know the answer to these questions, only you do, but seriously consider that there are many people who are in bondage to Satan. If you are one that has the God given ability to remove such demons, is that what you should be doing? I can’t help but think you are being deceived and are not using you talent the way God wishes. But once again, only you can answer these questions.

One other thing. Do the spirits you contact try to give you any future knowledge or do you ask for any future knowledge? If so, this is not something God wishes you to do since He expressly forbids it.

I have no doubt that you do have God given talents. My only question is whether or not you are using them in the way God intends.

Your sister in Christ,
Maria
absolutely not. they do not have the ability to know about the future and i do NOT hand out information to the future b/c i do think that is wrong… the only concern i really have is if God gave me a psychic ability, why did he do that?? it’s against what he said… that worries me that i’m like evil or something… i love God and everything and idk y he would give me that ability…

Satan can empower people with God like abilities…FYI

CCC 676 “The Antichrist’s deception already begins to take shape in the world every time the claim is made to realize within history that messianic hope which can only be realized beyond history through the eschatalogical judgement. The Church has rejected even modified forms of this falsification of the kingdom to come under the name of millenarianism, especially the “intrinsically perverse” political form of secular messianism.”

You act like i’m claiming to be God! i know i do not have the power to show people to heaven! but i DO have the power to be in touch with the spiritual rhelm. i can’t help that! and how is this i know?? because i have experienced many things that you will never know and many unexplained things have happened to me. my mother is a psychic and a healer. god gave her healing powers. she’s a catholic also. now, she doesn’t go to stupid carnivals and read a bunch of teenagers palms for 10 bucks but this is something she knows and is something God has told her. Also she has been told that these abilities have been passed on to me. it isn’t like it’s a choice of mine, to choose my abilities. And if by chance i help someone in the process of developing these abilities then i guess that was meant to be.

Megan,
This is not going to be as helpful as I’d like since I do not have the title author or anything. Several years ago I saw a book in a Catholic magazine talking about the spiritual and psychic things from a Catholic perspective. It said it is not as simple as the Protestant view. I did not have the money then and have not been able to find it since. But I think a book like this might help you to define things.

One thing you can do is this. Tell God you do not wish to offend Him. Ask Him if you are misusing these gifts from Him or if they are not from Him at all, remove them. If they are gifts from Him but you are misusing them, help you to see how to use them properly. Pray it now, pray it daily and pray it every time you use your gifts. He will answer you.

May God bless you and keep you safe,
Maria

Catechism of the Catholic Church
2116
All forms of *divination *are to be rejected: recourse to Satan or demons, conjuring up the dead or other practices falsely supposed to “unveil” the future.48 Consulting horoscopes, astrology, palm reading, interpretation of omens and lots, the phenomena of clairvoyance, and recourse to mediums all conceal a desire for power over time, history, and, in the last analysis, other human beings, as well as a wish to conciliate hidden powers. They contradict the honor, respect, and loving fear that we owe to God alone.

If you are Catholic you are not allowed to do this. In the examination of concience paphlet I have from out parish using the Ouija is listed as a sin. This is the church teaching period. You can rationalize it anyway you want to, but Jesus founded the Church and gave it a authority. As a Catholic you are bound to that authority, and it for our own spiritual good.
Did God come and tell you he gave you these “powers”? You do not know where this is coming from but if it’s against Church teaching than it is not from God. What you “think” does make it so. The answer is a solid NO you can not use a Ouija board for any reason, nor can you involve yourself in any practices involving the contacting of spirits. That is the devil’s play ground and you have no business there.

I have always considered that God gave me an ability of discernment. I tend to sense places where evil has been done or evil people.

For Example. Whenever I drove by this one spot, I just hated it. It felt wrong. When I shared this with my friends, they told me that about a year before I moved to town, police found what appeared to be skinned cats that had been used in some sort of Satanic ritual, in the spot I had always hated.

Is this clarivoyance? Is this something I need to denounce? Or is this different?

Is Megan’s gift not a gift? Even though she does not consult for future knowledge?

Your sister in Christ,
Maria

This is not a gift. IF these experiences are truly happening they are from evil. Remember Adam & Eve? How did the Serpant tempt them? By telling they would become like God. The only Spirit we need to be talking is the Holy Spirit.
I know some may think I’m being extreme here, and usually I’m not this absolute on issues. But the devil is dancing right now. Spirits can not “chose to wait for someone to talk to before they go with God.” You have already chosen that path when you are alive after you die you have no choices to make. If this girl is really having these experiences they are not from God, this is a trap by Satan. I fear no matter what we say she is not hearing us. She needs the prayers of many, and her mom does too.

Megzy:
Are Ouija Boards considered “tools of the devil” if they are used for good (such as helping spirits to forgive so they can move on with God)??? Because in the past, i have contacted many good spirits that just needed a little bit of help or that were scared. And after i helped them, they went with God. I don’t think that can be bad if you use it for the right reasons… Some spirits even choose to stay behind to wait for someone or talk to someone and when they talk to them or get their message across, they go 2 heaven with God.
i just want some thoughts on the situation.
~Megan
Megzy…you asked everyone’s opinion and most have told you they feel the ouija board is not a good idea and have shown how Church teachings are clearly against such devices…however, it seems that you have made up your mind on this issue no matter what anyone here has to say, and unfortunately IMO it looks like you will continue to use the board…if you are a Catholic, perhaps you should speak to your parish priest about this.

Megzy I also noticed that in another thread you have a VERY difficult time with confession and that priests “really, reall, really” scare you…could it be that your “encounters” with spirits and your issues with priests and confession are related???..could it be that there are spirits in you, or in contact with you that don’t want you to go to confession or be close to a priest???..this just seems logical to me and I really feel a talk with a priest could benefit you greatly, and perhaps a Benedictine crucifix along with a novena to St. Benedict to protect you from evil…please consider this and may God bless you.

sorry, but i don’t think trying to help is bad. i don’t use it for bad purposes and i have powers that were given to me BY GOD so why can’t i use them. i have alot of power and i’m very in touch with spirits. That’s a God-given gift and i’m sure i have it for a purpose.

Megzy:
I’m actually quite sure of myself and i know how to use it right. I’m very experienced

Megzy:
i take my abilities as a blessing…
Then why are you asking?

my I ask why you think you have powers given to you by God?
The reason the Catholic Church condemns all forms of spiritualism, contacting the spirits by means of tarot cards, crystals, ouija boards, astrology etc. is that it breaks the first commandment, and abrogates to a human powers that belong only to God. The only powers granted to humans by God are those given by Jesus Christ to ordained priests and bishops in succession to the apostles, and they can exercise those powers only in union with Christ and His Church through the sacraments He ordained.

CCC: Superstition

2111 Superstition is the deviation of religious feeling and of the practices this feeling imposes. It can even affect the worship we offer the true God, e.g., when one attributes an importance in some way magical to certain practices otherwise lawful or necessary. To attribute the efficacy of prayers or of sacramental signs to their mere external performance, apart from the interior dispositions that they demand, is to fall into superstition.41

CCC: Divination and magic

2115 God can reveal the future to his prophets or to other saints. Still, a sound Christian attitude consists in putting oneself confidently into the hands of Providence for whatever concerns the future, and giving up all unhealthy curiosity about it. Improvidence, however, can constitute a lack of responsibility.

2116 All forms of divination are to be rejected: recourse to Satan or demons, conjuring up the dead or other practices falsely supposed to “unveil” the future.48 Consulting horoscopes, astrology, palm reading, interpretation of omens and lots, the phenomena of clairvoyance, and recourse to mediums all conceal a desire for power over time, history, and, in the last analysis, other human beings, as well as a wish to conciliate hidden powers. They contradict the honor, respect, and loving fear that we owe to God alone.

2117 All practices of magic or sorcery, by which one attempts to tame occult powers, so as to place them at one’s service and have a supernatural power over others - even if this were for the sake of restoring their health - are gravely contrary to the virtue of religion. These practices are even more to be condemned when accompanied by the intention of harming someone, or when they have recourse to the intervention of demons. Wearing charms is also reprehensible. Spiritism often implies divination or magical practices; the Church for her part warns the faithful against it. Recourse to so-called traditional cures does not justify either the invocation of evil powers or the exploitation of another’s credulity.

I believe that answers the question.

Using occult objects for the specific reason to contact spirits is extremely dangerous. Exocists always relate accounts of familiar spirits that take advantage of these activities in ways that are known to the practitioner.

Journeys down the wrong path are taken one step at a time.

I beg you to rid youself of this evil.

Chuck

Megzy,

There is an ample time for you to denounce this activity. It’s not your fault that your mom is a psychic and that she “passed on” her ability to you. Satan and all evil spirits don’t pick on anyone whether one is a catholic, baptist, muslim, etc. He hates every human being because we are all made in the image and likeness of God. He will fool you to believe that those psychic powers comes from God. Is not Satan have powers, too? That’s the nature of angels. They have supernatural powers that were not given to human beings.

Now, with regards to quija boards and your reasoning that you aren’t playing but using your gift(?) to help others, all I could say is God will grant gifts but these gifts are clearly written in Sacred Scripture:

(1 Cor 12) “There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit;there are different forms of service but the same Lord; there are different workings but the same God who produces all of them in everyone. To each individual the manifestation of the Spirit is given for some benefit. To one is given through the Spirit the expression of wisdom; to another the expression of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit; to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit; to another mighty deeds; to another prophecy; to another discernment of spirits; to another varieties of tongues; to another interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit produces all of these, distributing them individually to each person as he wishes.”

These gifts are given for the building up of the Church. Pray for discernment from the holy Spirit.

Pio

Megan,

I can only assume that deep inside you question whether or not you are doing the right thing. You would not have asked this question otherwise.

I recommend you read* An Exorcist Tells his Story * by Fr. Gabrielle Amorth. He is very familiar with the supernatural world and knows well the source and dangers of this.

“Do not go to mediums or consult fortune-tellers, for you will be defiled by them. I the Lord, am your God.” Lev 19:31

In I Samuel 28 Saul consults the witch of Endor to conjure up Samuel. Samuel tells Saul of his impending doom & Saul fell into despair.

Bottom line is that:
  1. God has told us NOT to practice divination.
  2. the Catechism states in 2116: All forms of divination are to be rejected. . . all conceal a desire for power over time, history and in the last analysis, other human beings, as well as a wish to conciliate hidden powers. They contradict the honor, respect and loving fear that we owe to God alone.
  3. It has been observed also, sorry I can’t remember the source, that divination opens us up to evil spirits and closes us off from God.
Your previuos posts state that you just want to help. Maybe there are spirits out there that want help, they shouldn’t be seeking it from human beings who are limited in ability and perception (as compared to other beings, such as angels, didn’t want you to think I was saying you were limited;)). Its not your job or calling to help them. God would never call you to something that contradicts His Word.

Most of those CCC paragraphs qare based on Deut 18:10-12. Please read that passage. Then, if you’re posts are serious: Pray!

Perhaps God gave you this ability, but not to go against His laws.
the Catechism states in 2116: All forms of divination are to be rejected. . . all conceal a desire for power over time, history and in the last analysis, other human beings, as well as a wish to conciliate hidden powers. So let me get this straight:

God gave you a gift to use a Parker Brothers product to contact the spirits of the dead, (who by the way are too scared to go Heaven), so that you can help them “get into Heaven”.

Do I understand you correctly?

So then you come here and ask for opinions regarding said power, and Parker Brothers product, and then get angry when you receive those opinions, scriptures references, and teachings of the Church according to the CCC.

I guess I just can’t really take this too seriously.

First, let’s take a look at the history of the Ouija board. It developed out of a combination of two parlor games. The first involved a planchette shaped like a heart with a hole through large enough for a pencil. It was believed that a medium could hold the pencil/planchette, and thereby “channel” messages from the dead. The second game was a dial like board with an indicator that rotated in order to point at particular letters. The makers of the Ouija board combined both games to form the Ouija board. Eventually, they sold their patent to Parker Brothers (around 1966).

So, how does a Ouija board really work? About 1852, William B. Carpenter, developed a theory called ideometer action. This theory suggested that muscular movement can be initiated by the mind independently of volition or emotions.

Scientific tests by American psychologist William James, French chemist Michel Chevreul, English scientist Michael Faraday, and American psychologist Ray Hyman have demonstrated that many phenomena attributed to spiritual or paranormal forces, or to mysterious “energies” are actually due to ideomotor action. Furthermore, these tests demonstrate that “honest, intelligent people can unconsciously engage in muscular activity that is consistent with their expectations” (Hyman 1999). They also show that suggestions that can guide behavior can be given by subtle clues (Hyman 1977).

Now, with all that said, it is entirely possible that Satan can make use of such games for his own diabolical ends. My father used to tell me that just using the devil’s name alerts him to you.
