I’m going to apply for pharmacy school this year. I wanted to be a doctor, but I’d be in my early thirties by the time residency is finished. I want to be able to settle down soon enough to have a nice sized family.

No it’s him. He has some sort of anti-NFP agenda.
Not at all. If you wanna use it, knock yourself out.

Just don’t kid yourself by saying “I’m still open to life” when you employ a contraception method that, when performed flawlessly, is equally “open to life” as all other forms of contraception.

It’s no secret that I think the overwhelming majority of Catholic sexual norms are via bald fiat than by rationale. I wouldn’t have a problem if traditional Catholics would just be willing to admit this. But they’re not. And since logic is any man’s game, here I “play”…

If it helps you, I share John Paul II’s skepticism of NFP.

The sexual revolution in the 60’s plus no-fault divorce destroyed marriage, the very foundation of a healthy society
I may sound harsh but the truth is that sexual liberation transformed many women in unpaid whores.
Correct.

Why don’t you all admit that your intimated by women.instead you call them names I won’t say let alone type…Stop labeling women
The Truth hurts sometimes.
Sure does.

This post deserves all the likes.

I get why you have reservations about it. However, I don’t see why apologetics on NFP are all wrong.

For me, a 17 year old high school student, my only option is to have children and teach them the church’s teaching. We cannot uproot the bad. We must seed more good.

It’s newspeak really. “Sexual freedom” really means sexual slavery because people are enslaved by their addiction to disturbing and vile acts. Those actions pervert the intimate relations that belong exclusively in marriage between a man and a woman. The only intents that belong behind these relations being bonding the spouses and bringing children into the world, and those two reasons must never be separated ever.

Contraception is always wrong no matter what. That’s why I’m suspicious of NFP. In fact, my secularist biology class mentioned the legit name for NFP in one chapter, that being the “rhythm method.” The fact that a secularist biology class mentioned something like that makes me suspicious. If you don’t want kids, abstain. End of story.

If I recall correctly, you’re a young male high school student. Would share how the sexual freedom movement has impacted you and what steps you and other faithful Catholics of your generation are doing to turn the tide? I think the ship has already sailed with the over-40 crowd having much influence in changing the hearts of those in this culture, so maybe the youth can have some influence in getting it done.
Yeah, I’m 14. (Please don’t ban me mods). I know nobody, even the scummiest of people who are “intimidated” by women. Nor do I know anyone who denies women’s rights and support gender equality. I think the stereotype that men are jealous or some would even go as far to “hate women”, is absurd and in itself against everything these “modern Church warriors” try to teach. The sexual freedom movement is embraced by a wide number of our youth, probably 80%. So much pre-marital sex that is happening is unbelievable. Literally everywhere. Here in California, they give out 10 free condoms, lube, and a bunch of “equality” propaganda to everyone over the age of 12. Really, 12 years old and they expect us to be having sex. Boys are starting to fall to feminism and the LGBT agenda. Wherever you go in a school you always hear people making the joke “Did you just assume my gender?!”. I mean, it’s really freaking annoying. Not only that, but people are being hostile to religion, especially Catholicism. Even some people who I would consider friends try to tease me because they know I am really into Christianity and might become a priest. Sometimes they rub their hands together and say “Hail satin hail satin hail satin” a bunch of times. Usually I will just make the sign of the cross over them and walk away. I said satin instead of satan in effort to give him no glory whatsoever. Anyways, I hate this whole sexual freedom movement and think it should go to you know where.

So, does anyone else find themselves kind of wishing that World War III would just happen already so that we can rebuild society from scratch? I’m getting weary of what seems like a slow downward spiral.

I don’t want to get into a whole big debate on this, at least not on this thread, because I think it would be getting off track. But if I may add my 2¢…
With respect, if you don’t want to get into a debate, then don’t start. “I don’t want to debate the point, but here’s my presentation on it…” is an unfair position to take.

But since you don’t want a debate and you’re a rather pleasant presence on these forums, I shall honor your wish and decline rebuttal…

Although I don’t want innocent people to die, or anyone to die for that matter, especially in a war, the idea of starting over from scratch seems good. Maybe find an uninhabited island. 🙂

But then again, God started from the beginning, like, twice. And we still ended up bad.
Yeah, inherent problem with this whole “free will” thing…

I would like this post except I’m all out of likes.

Btw I’ll pray for your discernment!

The scariest thing is whether we could even start from scratch after WWIII or whether the whole planet will become a radioactive wasteland. We need to hurry up and find a way to colonize Mars.

So yes, because all apologists advocate for it on the basis that it’s not artificial contraception. But I ask: Why would God create woman with a cycle if He would declare it sinful to use?

Lawyers don’t typically get PhDs, at least in the United States.

I don’t know and it’s a logical fallacy to try to draw some positivist claim or conclusion from “I don’t know”.

On the flip side, why did God give man the ability to synthesize hormones if he didn’t want us to use the ability?

Same kind of question…
