(Virtually) always a JD. Some might get a PhD later but not typical

You’re incredibly confusing but what I’m hearing is that it’s the exact same as the condom or birth control pills. Why is it widely advocated for in Catholic teaching, including by the USCCB and even Pope Francis?

It is probably the worst time in the world in be a teenager in the US. People thought there was peer pressure in the 70’s.
Peer pressure hardly exists these days. Hardly anybody forces you to smoke a cig because everyone smokes weed. An acquaintance I have who is a real gangster, has and sells guns, weed, cigarillos, etc, doesn’t even do much. He doesn’t pressure anyone into smoking or sex. The problem now is the pre-marital sex and whole wave of modernism.
I’ve come to believe that while the faithful may be less in number in your generation, they are more resilient and will keep their faith.
I pray we will still have a good amount of Catholics! If we don’t, that doesn’t change the fact we are Christ’s Church and have the truth, not to mention we have a great opportunity to be saved. As you have said though, the few will likely have an unshakable faith.
You continue to be one of those and bring some more into the fold with you.
I try evangelizing, but most of the time people are to hard headed to listen to me. I’ll state a zillion Bible verses and tell them why their interpretation of a verse is wrong, and they will be like “Well you still are wrong!” This is especially true for my JW grandma. I heartily believe she is brainwashed, I have done so much extensive research on them and gave her so many examples of how their religion is corrupt and why she should convert. Funny story, I was debating with an anti Trinitarian non-denominational prot and it was hilarious. She called me a dumba** for believing Jesus is God. She literally said “God didn’t die for our sins, that doesn’t even make sense!” Why must protestants be like this.

She called me a dumba**…
As someone who engages in apologetics for fun very, very often take this advice;

When it gets that heated, there is no more progress being made by any side. When the yelling or insults start, the discussion is over.

Thanks! Great advice.

Name calling is a offense that can be flagged, and the same goes for Spyridon. CAF is not the place for this.

Virtue is attainable. God would not ask us to be perfect and not give us the means to do so. It is only the first few wrenches of the will that hurt! (to quote Servant of God Frank Duff)

Is anyone else really just angered by these? I’m reading about the birth control movement and sexual liberation movements of the early 20th Century in my American history class, and it makes my blood boil. Does anyone else feel this way when the topic is brought up? Or is it just me?
According to the Blessed Mother at Fatima, sexual sins are at the top of the list of sins that people go to hell over.

"1. “More souls go to Hell because of sins of the flesh than for any other
reason. " Sr Lucia, the last living Fatima seer, said this refers primarily to sins against
chastity, also called sins of impurity. The reason for this statement is not because sins
against chastity are the most grievous sins, but the most common and, as Sr Lucia stated,
"because of conscience, " since sins of impurity are less likely to be repented of than other
sins. Why? 1) because the sense of injustice committed, which is the primary stimulus to
repent of one’s sins, is not strongly felt when engaging in them, with the exception of
adultery; 2) there is a greater sense of shame when committing certain impure acts and
hence greater difficulty confessing them in the sacrament of confession, or even repenting
of them in one’s heart; 3) sexual activity of all kinds is presented by our post-Christian —
even anti-Christian — popular culture as natural and good, and sexual abstinence is even
taught to be unhealthy. The sixth commandment, relating to chastity, has always been
called “the difficult commandment.” Today, with pornography everywhere and women and
girls dressing more immodestly than ever, it can almost be called “the impossible
commandment.” However, Jesus assures us: “What is impossible with men is possible with
God.” (Lk 18:27) We may add that all who invoke the Blessed Virgin Mary for help in
overcoming sins of impurity, will receive the grace to do so, as she herself has revealed to
St Bridget of Sweden and various other saints. And those who strive to live chaste lives
know from experience, when sins of impurity are humbly repented of and confessed, a
great burden is removed from our consciences, and we experience that peace of soul that
the world and carnal indulgence cannot give.”

There’s no shame in having a small family. Not everyone is called to a large one. What isn’t morally acceptable, though, is having casual sex repeatedly while denying the procreative or, even worse, marital purpose of sex. The increasing acceptance of such perversion is why we are angry.

I always enjoy his opinions.

Here’s another from the NCBC, which is likely more authoritative.
Question 1.
Isn’t the avoidance of pregnancy through NFP contraceptive?
Reply:
The intent, at the time that marital consent is exchanged, to use NFP to avoid children throughout all of married life clearly is contraceptive.
Obviously Catholic thought on the issue is less than cohesive.

Throughout all of married life. Clearly, NFP shouldn’t be used for selfish reasons like not wanting more kids. However, if a couple reaches a state where they are currently unable to procreate due to circumstances out of their control, it seems to deny the unitive aspect of sex to disallow them from engaging in marital relations.

You are not alone. We, the church, have missed or are missing, how to have society live in purity.
Just think— if you died right now, would your outfit help get you into heaven?? Now we don’t have to wear Burkas or long veils but it makes Spiritual common sense, that we measure our outfits by our spiritual standards. Women are a treasure. We are princesses that the prince should climb a glass mountain to surrender the prize of 3 golden apples. A difficult quest. Our virginity is a precious commodity to show our love is worthy of our purity.
We have turned in to sex objects. Dress saucily to catch the prince. He doesn’t have to climb the mountain. We throw ourselves at his feet. Summer Break, Fraternities and Sororities—- Party animals.
Now, I don’t know why Mary doesn’t up grade her outfit. We have long beautiful dresses. This a funny thought. When I had it, I thought,”My goodness! Are we suppose to dress as she dressed? Groan’”
How do we dress going to church? I wear pants. Recently saw a directive by the Pope in 1960’s? Wear dresses to knees. Cover thorax and upper arms. I have that. One sweet teen that was going to church(hallelujah), had low cut jeans on and when she kneeled, you could see her thong.
I did comment w a thank you for going to church. God loves you. But did you know!?!!
Look in our closets. Think like God.
I don’t know. The church has strongly come out against abortion! Yet we vote for Baby killers. Then, there’s the argument of single issue politics. BUT, the Pope says NO ABORTION. We are a proud ppl. We have it our ways.
HUMBLE OURSELVES IN THE SIGHT OF THE LORD AND HE WILL RAISE US UP.
In Christ’s Love

Throughout all of married life.
Right. It’s not contraceptive if you plan to have kids at some point in the generic future.

Trying to present that as a rational distinction is either tragedy or comedy and I can’t decide which…

If that’s the case, there is no such thing as contraception since pretty much everyone either had or plans to have kids at some point in the future…

The idea I’m getting is that you don’t think unitive sex exists. You seem to believe that all sex should be procreative.
