I no longer consider this country America, and so if this government is providing aid to those who behead priests, then it is time to defeat that country that calls itself America.
I agree. 😦

What kind of people could do such things to another human being??? So sick, the work of the devil.

Oh dear God. This is just awful. Lord, please make a place for your servant. :signofcross:

If this country had simply stayed out of it, Assad would have crushed the Jihadists a long time ago.
At what cost, though? We’re talking about a man who sees no problem levelling entire cities with civilians inside, who until 2005 were considered enemies to the United States. Sure, he lets the Christians live on his sufferance, but what if they become inconvenient, as Christians eventually do to these sorts of secular dictators? The UN should have stepped in a long time ago.

So you would, HansTrappist, have us back a murderous thug to stop another bunch of murderous thugs. You know, this is what got us into this mess in the first place.
“Murderous thug”?? Who told you Assad was a “murderous thug”?? Oh, that’s right: the lying Western Media - you know, the ones who originally reported that Assad was behind the massacres at Daraa, Homs, Houla, Tremesh, etc. when in fact we now know that it was the American-funded “Syrian Rebels” who have been behind all the big massacres right from the start. Why just last month these American-funded “Syrian Rebels” burned to the ground the Christian village of al-Duvair on the outskirts of Homs where these demonic “Syrian Rebels” massacred women and children before Assad’s Army intervened on behalf of the Christians. These same “Syrian Rebels” have kidnapped two Syrian Bishops in Aleppo at the beginning of the year. They are still missing. These “Syrian Rebels” just slowly tortured and murdered Father Francois Murad and another innocent person with a kitchen knife.

You need to get your facts correct, Cojuanco. The only “murderous thug” worth talking about is Barack Obama who not only supports Murder (aka Abortion) on Demand here at Home but who also has been supporting, funding, and now arming the “Syrian Rebels” who are killing, torturing, and displacing Catholics in record numbers across the Middle East, especially in Syria.

When this war broke out, my Syrian Christian neighbor told me it was a bunch of al quaeda and Jihadists and he asked for prayers for peace and that the rebels be quashed. Now most of his family (Christians in Syria) have been killed by the islamist extremists.

Our country is doing nothing but arming murderous thugs and extremists

I am ready to start a protest of this but not really sure how.

I have always been proud to be an American. This year I cannot put out a flag on the 4th. Sadness fills my being. We need God in America again.

I used to be proud to be an American but I can’t say that I am any more. With this government’s attacks on our freedom of religion, unjustified spying, the IRS scandal and more, I just can’t say that I am very patriotic at all anymore.

That said, this priest is a martyr. I am sure he is in Heaven now praying for us.

That was the worst thing I have ever seen. What has this world come to when people kill priests and all the people there cheer and take picture? I don’t even know what to say except Lord our God take these two souls into your peaceful arms

I saw the video and it really alarms me. But I am not naive to world affairs and varied cultures and their beliefs. I do not clearly understand yet, but I am researching, what drives each side(s) in that area, but it is truly tragic that the priest and others were ritualistically beheaded gang-style.

From what I know, the extremist position is one that cannot be turned with logic or reason. I’m sure America’s government is certainly adding to the problem and lines are drawn, bringing RC’s into the foray, because it’s easy for ignorance to permeate when hatred needs an outlet.

I don’t know what the answer is, nor does anyone I fear, but I am praying for those caught up in the anti-Catholic hatred. St. Stephen is my patron saint for the sole reason that he stood up for what he believed in and prayed for those who would eventually take his life - as he prayed for God’s mercy, them not knowing what they do. It is a small solace for my opinion that the next century will continue to bring much religious war.

I will continue to pray for both the Catholic priest and beheaded victims, as well as enlightenment for those who follow a religion that condone killing of Jews and Christians.

We could at a minimum refrain from backing either. But if we must back one, let’s avoid backing the cannibalistic Catholic killers.

Don’t anyone hold your breath waiting for a statement from Obama condemning this.

and this morning my parish’s new assistant said in his homily that Islam/Muslims are not our enemy. Well, some of the ones that FOLLOW Islam are…especially when they execute innocent people!

I hope this priest is declared a martyr. 😦

As sad as this persecution is, I have faith that there are some here who would have volunteered to be martyred in his place or to joint him in his martyrdom. May Fr. Murad always stand in the presence of Almighty God.

Sounds like someone may have bypassed the tree of truth to pull an apple from the tree of political correctness.

As the saying goes, 'With friends like these . . . ’

Am I to assume that parish priest approved the homily?

if Obama is giving these animals weapons to fight along with aid.

does this mean he is actually backing terrorism?
That’s what it means if he is indeed giving arms and supplies to these barbaric savages.
