If only it were so simple as just one cause we’d have a hope of fighting it. The saddest cases are the ones where children pray on other children.

I think it has a lot to do with access to pornography and bad parenting, i.e., not enough vigilance, especially in light of the fact that children are now armed with phones with data plans. I also know of kids as young as 12 who have facebook accounts when they shouldn’t. There was a story not so long ago, of young boy, I believe he was 12 years old, who raped his sister after having watched porn at a friend’s house.

Porn is definitely a contributing factor, but this has been happening long before porn was readily accessible.

I remember when a local gay man that everyone knew, he wanted to chat to everybody, when he was arrested for having thousands of pictures of boys (the illegal kind), everybody’s response went like this…

1# Did you hear about X? He was arrested for child porn on his computer?

2# But he’s gay!?!

And everyone responded the same. People always think man/girl never man/boy, people make out that all gay men are shrinking violets who couldn’t harm a fly.

Well, most people aren’t well versed about sexual abuse is, who the victims are and who the perpetrators are. It seems I read misinformation on this forum (including this thread) and in the comments on other sites far more often than I read something that is correct.

I know a local gay man who adopted a couple of boys; they were little but not babies when they were adopted and interracial so not the first choice for many couples. He’s a good dad.
 
I recall from my courses pedophilia may be a hardwired sexual preference.

Studies with penile plethysmograpgy (apparently blood flow doesn’t lie) show these men are only aroused by children…apparently similar studies done on men attracted to animals show similar result.

I totally agree, it is ridiculous, and something needs to be done.

I believe they dont really do anything substantial in stopping this because most of the ring leaders are major major players in US politics, very large corporations, high level people in the entertainment industry and similar people in high positions, they hold so much power, they can bury just about anyone that dares come after them. Thats why I think we really only see lower level pedophiles being targets of police.

I still cannot understand why pedophiles prefer young children… I mean…Their bodies are not even matured enough for sex…seems to me it would be very uncomfortable for the man (Im referring to older men having sex with young females, but the same could be said about young boys as well I guess)

Although Ive read in more than a few places, its not really about the sex act with these guys, its more about the power over the kid, and the idea of taking their innocence…especially if they themselves had be abused sexually as a kid.

You are right something needs to be done, its clear law enforcement is not gaining much ground in this territory, as it seems to get worse and worse as the years go by, Maybe the church or some group needs to come up with an alternative plan to halt this ****?

Whatever is done, it will have to be extreme, as with the internet, this thing has exploded and grows each day, I cant believe the number of people that are into this either!!! My God, how low our society has sunken!!

Not sure why you focused so much on Israel, but child pornography/pedophilia is everywhere, the latest case I heard was a bust in Canada (where I’m from):

Toronto police said Thursday that 348 people, including 108 Canadians, have been arrested in an international child pornography ring that was largely centred around a Toronto-based film company that distributed images and videos across the globe.

Police said the three-year investigation included Canadian and international law enforcement agencies. Dubbed Project Spade, police said the effort resulted in 386 children being saved from exploitation.

Do you have stats? Last I checked parts of South East Asia, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East were also major human trafficking centers.

That was not my question, i.e., I’m not denying that human trafficking is a problem in Israel, I just don’t understand the poster’s inordinate focus on Israeli human trafficking when there are so many places in the world that are just as culpable, and possibly more so.

P.S. What do you think they do in Saudi Arabia, i.e., use their own women?
