No, the ones the Israelis have been almost perpetually carrying out against the Palestinians for seventy years. The degree of your naivete is startling. Are you aware that the number of Palestinians killed by Israelis since 2000 is over four times the number of Israelis killed by Palestinians? It seems the Israelis are (and always have been) doing the vast majority oif the shelling.

And even the strongest apologist sof Israel’s actions, such as Joan Peters, concede that Arabs remained in what would become Israel in large numbers. West bank and Gaza, for example, were always predominantly Arab. Galilee was as well before 1948, and contrary to the immigration theory proposed by her, in fact the immigrants were largely expelled by force or moved under duress. You ma yas well at least read her book. The read her sources. Her accounting of demographic changes as recorded by the Hope-Simpson report (a British report on immigration in Palestine) do not add up.
Being called naive from some college kid who has yet to see the world is rather amusing. Startling is the fact he has the gaul to do so.🤷

So you wouldn’tve minded when the German government started shipping Jews and Gypsies off to the camps? “Their countr, their rules”? What about the Chinese governments oppresssion of Christian Churches? Still “their country, their rules?”
Did they leave and wait for the annihilation of the remaining citizens?🤷

The fact you ignore points which you can’t find a response for (the position of the Church on Palestine, the indisputable existence of an entity called Palestine prior to 1948 etc.) is far more amusing. Enough of the petty, irrelevant, ad hominem arguments.

I’m not obliged to consider the Church’s position on Palestine.

Are you Catholic? Do you understand what obligates Catholics?

So, who was President of Palestine in 1947? Can you point me to their constitution? Flag? National Anthem?🤷

the purpose of the UN is twofold. Pass resolutions condemning Israel and find ways to spend United States money promoting causes that are against the interests of the United States.
That pretty much sums it up.

Again, this nonsense. I must be wrong because you’re older than me. Tell me, why doesn having live dlonger than me give you special insight into the Israel-Palestine conflict? Explain it to me. Enlighten me with your wisdom. What, in your work and life experience, makes you so much more qualified than me to make these generalizations that you like to make?

And have really never met a person older than you who disagreed with you? If you did, would you just concede to them?

How ironic that you compare Jews with Nazis.🤷

Palestine existed as a nation under a British mandate. It existed just as much as Canada or India existed prior to full independence.

I am a Catholic, and I’m not saying that we must expect an exact political line from the Church, nor follow it to the letter if it did exist. I do however believe that as a matter of respect, we should consider the opinions of our brothers and sisters in the Holy Land, and those appointed by Rome to care for our Holy Places.

You do recall that you were the one who called me naive?

There’s your wisdom son.😉

On the issue of Israel-Palestine, I think you are. One could live 500 years and would still be naive about some things. Young people can, believe it or not, be right on occasion, even, once in a while, on occasions when their elders are wrong.

So, I take it you won’t be telling me who was President or linking me to their National Anthem or flag?🤷

So, if I think you are young and haven’t seen the world enough to form a solid opinion is different from you thinking I am naive…how?🤷

What did the American flag look like in 1765? What was our anthem in 1765? Who was our president? Or did we not exist then? In which case, I suppose the British were justified in waging war against our nonexistent forefathers.

I don’t think your naivete on the matter is because of your age.

I imagine, if we werre talking about abortion, you wouldn’t be saying the same thing, though. A college student surely can have a strong pro-life opinion, no? And would they be unjust in calling an aged pro-choicer naive? Would you dedfend Gloria Steinem if I were to call her naive for one of her views, because of her seniority?

There wasn’t one. No, we didn’t exist as a nation. We took a colony away from the English.

Tell me, when did you last take a stroll through an Israeli checkpoint?

You do know I made the age comment because of the naive comment?

Ah, the “you’re not entitled to comment because you don’t live there stunt”.

When’s the last time you were in India or Canada prior to their independence?

That was a direct response to your ‘haven’t seen the world enough’ remark. 😛
