Youāve just said the same thing I am thinking. Iām practically worn out over the whole December 2012 Mayan Calendar nonsense, Nostradamus, Y2K, Dan Brown, Tim LaHaye, the Voynich Manuscript, and all the lesser doomsday prophets who frequent the various TV ministries. The last thing I want to see is more fuel heaped on the fire with the āfulfillmentā of a prophecy made in a document supposedly ādiscoveredā (meaning probably forged) hundreds of years after itās namesake saintās death: the election of a Black Pope, Peter the Roman.
Up until now I always interpreted this bogus prophecy of a āblackā pope to mean one with an evil heart. I never considered that it could be āfulfilledā by a righteous dark-skinned man named Peter.
I can tell from reading his bio that Peter Cardinal Turkson is a superb candidate who could be a strong pope, and who (with his background) would likely start his papacy by taking strong action to resolve the Vatican banking scandal. I have nothing personally against this man myself. Iāll also say right now that, with any other pope at the helm, Peter Cardinal Turkson as current head of the head the Vaticanās peace and justice office can still be delegated the responsibility to address that matter.
I just donāt want to spend the next two years watching the doomsday conspiracy theorists take over the media and panic the gullible the way they have for the past several years. Enough is enough.
