Trump, like most politicians (Rep, Dem, and/or Ind), believes that abortion is okay in the case of rape, incest, or when the health of the mother is at stake.
This is where our differences lies. I am not assuming the government has nefarious purposes so much as to protect people and property from the bad apples in the bunch. It only takes a small spark to inflame a powder keg. When that happens it must be stopped. These actions are not against free speech, but those of violence. However, the police are using the cry “violent protesters” to attack largely peaceful crowds.
…the government can not limit those rights for it’s own convenience or nefarious purposes.
Trump’s purpose, which he stated many times, was to “dominate” the protesters. Is that what the individuals on the ground thought? Probably not. This is where our differences lies. I am not assuming the government has nefarious purposes so much as to protect people and property from the bad apples in the bunch.
I do distrust everything Trump. But I would not support the things he does if another President did them, either. I was against Obama’s misuse of Esecutive Orders, as I’ve said before. But this attitude speaks to your distrust of anything Trump, but at least your post clears up why you think that way…even though I disagree with it.
I think, even though they were “just following orders” , the clearing of Lafayette Square was wrong. If they wan’t to do that, shey should have done it in the morning when few people were there. It was inept. The police were not wrong, and the protestors were not wrong.
I agree the violent people hijacked the protests. The bad apples masked hidden within the group are the ones needing to be addressed.
No it is not. This is total hogwash!
It’s not a matter of “who”, it’s a matter of “what”. If, as a German in 1938 you knowingly voted for a Jew-killing Nazi, that vote was an act of evil. And so it is today in voting for a pro-abortion candidate. The person isn’t important. You’re voting for evil and bear responsibility for that evil for having done so.I really don’t think someone is evil because of who they vote for
Not at all. Compare a politician who supports the death penalty versus one who supports killing all the Jews. Besides, actions are what count. Trump has not done a single thing that promotes abortion. He has done much in opposition to it. Words are of little consequence. Action is what matters most.He is a supporter of abortion. That then blows that argument people put up to support him, no difference to other politicians
“Supports” is probably too strong a word. “Wouldn’t ban” is probably closer to the rreality. I disagree with him either way, but it’s still far better than a total supporter of abortion, which Biden is.#1 Trump personally supports abortion in those cases.
For sure. I might go to hell for any number of reasons, but voting for the abortion party won’t be among them.#2 We each have to justify to God, not to each other why we vote the way we do.
The president isn’t “cops or military.”To me, when cops or military talk about “dominating” the scene or action, they mean controlling what happens, not simply reacting willy-nilly to what others force upon them.
It’s really different when some of the opposing actors are very much attempting to “dominate” the scene in order to loot, burn, kill, etc. If ever an abortion clinic picket turns violent (and I’m not sure if any have) I would expect the police to “dominate” the scene as quickly as possible.
But does he? You’re assuming a lot here.If a person , any person, in any way supports abortion,
NEVER did I say that. Never. You tell me how abortion is not abortion if a baby is a rape victim.
Well, he’s the commander in chief of the military. But lots of people use terms peculiar to other fields. “Straight shooter”, “good soldier”, “cowgirl up”, “goat roper”, “hearsay”, on and on. If Obama had said it, nobody would have criticized it.The president isn’t “cops or military.”
But you have no problem calling pro-choice folks ‘pro abortion’.“Supports” is probably too strong a word.
@PaulinVA And this strategy has worked. The protests are still going on and the riff raff has been “dominated”To me, when cops or military talk about “dominating” the scene or action, they mean controlling what happens, not simply reacting willy-nilly to what others force upon them.
Wolf said: “Can you imagine [what would have happened] if we had not done anything, if we had not increased our police presence in the D.C. area and in cities across the country?
“So I think we took the right action, and what we’ve seen is we’ve seen governors deploy the National Guard. We’ve seen governors and state mayors call the federal government asking for support. And that’s what we’ve given them. And I’m happy to say it’s worked.”
Interesting question why the protests have become peaceful. Are the riff raff in jail? I don’t know.@PaulinVA And this strategy has worked. The protests are still going on and the riff raff has been “dominated”
At least 10000 have been arrested.Interesting question why the protests have become peaceful. Are the riff raff in jail? I don’t know.
