This brings up an interesting point. Since you are a self-professed biblical literalist, then why does creation even matter? Under the literalist view we can chuck almost the entire bible, put our faith in Jesus, and be done with it.

I support the godless because they’ve actually gone through the slow, difficult process of discovery…of course, by your definition, Pope Benedict, John Paul II and many others are godless. I’m in good company, and completely unworthy of the honor.

John
Your just putting words in my mouth to create a counter argument. I didn’t say the whole bible and every single word in it was literal. I said Genesis is literal and was meant to be literal. So my argument for the bible is either God is a liar or the bible is wrong, which is it? Also, I was referring the Godless as the Scientist that promote evolution as origins because they are materialistic and have no other explanation even though it’s a fairy tale. Just because you believe it that doesn’t make you Godless. I never insinuated that. I imagine you would like to chuck the whole bible because you obviously doubt the historical accuracy and the authority of the bible.

Guys.
This argument is pointless.
Nobody is going to change their mind.

Also, for the sake of clarity and truth, you DO believe the earth is flat, right? That’s the only view consistent with a literal view of Genesis, so I assume you do. I also assume you think that the sky is a sphere and outside it is infinite water. If I’m wrong about either assumption, I’d like you to correct me so that I don’t misunderstand your ideas. Would you do that, please? Just confirm or deny that that is your position? Thank you! 🙂

Where do you draw the line on literal, and what is your authority for that? Still waiting on that Church doctrine on a literal Genesis.

Your argument…that you repeat so often, is an attempt to simplify to the absurd a very difficult question…and if the scientists are godless, then it follows that all who hold out the possibility for evolution must be godless.

You have stated nothing but your view…and that’s fine…faith is a good thing…just don’t try to pass it off as fact.

Finally, do I doubt the historical accuracy of the bible? The bible, when it was assembled, was not intended to be a history text. It was gathered from many sources by the early church fathers in an effort to explain their view of the new faith and to serve as a foundation for the instruction of the faithful.

Is the Earth flat? I am wondering why you refuse to answer the question.

My friend Evolution is a Faith. Yet they try to pass it off as fact. I’m not following your logic about how everyone that believes evolution must be godless, in fact I never said that. My logic is this, the Evolution Scientist are Godless and since they are Godless they are full of deceit. They have the Spirit of Deceit and openly lie to you right off of the get go. They openly claim God doesn’t exist (Whoever denounces God is of the Anti-Christ). Now are you going to tell me this doesn’t hurt their credibility? For one they lie and two they have the spirit of deceit.

Why should I believe them especially since they have no evidences that we came from a rock and that we evolved. Better yet why do you believe them?

Stepping off of that for a little, was I correct?
I’m going to think about what you’ve said. If I DO reason that the literal view is correct, I want to make sure I’m not leaving things out. Do you believe in a flat earth? The universe outside our atmosphere as water?

Thanks, I just want to clarify and not mischaracterize you to myself.

Is the Earth flat? Why won’t you answer the simple question?

Evolution is a scientific theory…and there are many scientists who adhere to one of many faiths. God does not come up in their writings because God is a matter of faith, and has no place in a scientific discourse. God’s existence is not testable or provable.

Science confirms the Bible. In fact Jesus loves Science and he should he invented it.
Anyways check this out.

John 20
27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and see my hands, and bring your hand and put it into my side, and do not be unbelieving, but believe.”

Please Ishii, wait till my question is answered. I don’t want it buried again. Let’s all just wait for an answer.

Were my assumptions right? Thank you.
Assuming “water thing too” - I don’t follow. Please advise.

Jesus invented science? Interesting…I’d bet that the Egyptians and others who preceded Jesus on earth would have something to say about that. Now, as one part of the Trinity, and therefore God, it could be argued that Jesus indirectly created just about anything.

Your quote from John’s Gospel is also interesting. I’m not certain what you are trying to say.

Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega. Jesus invented all things including science. Why is that hard to understand?

One with a literal approach would also believe that the sky is a firmament that keeps out a bunch of water, and that the rest of the universe is water.
6 And God said: Let there be a firmament made amidst the waters: and let it divide the waters from the waters.
7 And God made a firmament, and divided the waters that were under the firmament, from those that were above the firmament, and it was so.
8 And God called the firmament, Heaven; and the evening and morning were the second day.
Different translation:
6 Then God said, “Let there be a space[c] to separate the water into two parts!” 7 So God made the space and separated the water. Some of the water was above it, and some of the water was below it. 8 God named that space “sky.” There was evening, and then there was morning. This was the second day.
