DeSanto this is YOUR OPINION, not anything stated by anyone. It may simply be the words “taking advantage” are somewhat pejorative. When one “takes advantage” of a sale that’s a good thing. When someone “takes advantage” of lax security to steal it’s not.I fail to see how this addresses my comment. The issue I would like to explore is…
What is the difference between a poor man taking advantage of the system versus a rich man who takes advantage? One receives disdain for their actions the other is applauded.
If someone uses legal measures to minimize their tax expense, I have ZERO problem with their doing so. It is silly to pay more taxes than necessary. If you want to help Uncle Sam you can always write a check.
If a NEEDY person “takes advantage” of social services, government programs or charities that’s fine too. No one has said otherwise.
However if someone cheats the system, note recent story about a woman who has 30 “Obama Phones” or if a store owner takes food stamps in a scam to give a discounted amount of cash back to the food stamp recipient then yes I DO have disdain for those people.
Does this make it clear with respect to my position? Do you disagree and if so why?
