I agree with this but the distaste for Obama among Conservatives is at a historic high so they would have voted for literally anyone with an “R” behind their name.
Not necessarily. Many would have just as soon stayed home on election day.

Ryan will be able to articulate well what America needs to do. He will educate many Americans who do not know. I think he can cut through the rhetoric.
Another reason then why Ryan is a good choice. And he has also had experience working with Democrats. I don’t think FDR can really be compared to most other Presidents regardless of whether he had foreign-policy experience or not. He was a dictatorial giant, similar to Churchill. The nation would not have survived without him. Reagan is a case apart: he had an idealistic vision for America’s place in the world and was quite sincere about bringing it to fruition, leaving aside the Iran-Contra scandal. I don’t know whether Ryan is in the same category as either of them, but perhaps he can also eventually fill the shoes of President successfully, as Romney inadvertently predicted.
Maybe, I’m no Rightist so I can only deign what is in their minds from the media and what I read among my fellow forumites here.
Glad to hear that Planned Parenthood does not like Romney’s VP selection. That just reinforces it for me.
