Thank God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit that the USCCB is wrong. Actually quite frequently.

Been reading on Ryan… he made a good pick IMO. Just hope we can get obama outta office… he is by far the worst ‘president’ we’ve ever had.
Yup, my thoughts exactly.

As far as Ryan being a good Catholic, the USCCB’s said is budget proposal failed morally.

Paul Ryan’s world view brings this election front and center as to what kind of nation we are going to be going forward. One still with some empathy for the less fortunate and those in need. Or one that would be willing in such a severe way to balance the budget on the backs of the poor and the sick while continuing to benefit the rich with further tax cuts. I can only say good luck everyone.
His 10 year plan doesn’t even balance the budget and increases federal spending by 33%. If you call that “severe,” so be it. Check the link, go to page 88, turn your head sideways.

My baloney detector blew up on this one.

We have over 100 million (of 320 million) on federal welfare. How many more do you want?

Weaning America off the bottle is what is needed.

You mean your obamaloney detector?

This was not a wise decision for Romney. He needs independent votes to win the election. He already had the Conservatives in his pocket.

I’m hoping he has pulled a “McCain” here.

Not if you listen to conservative talk radio. The majority of hosts and callers have been lukewarm, at best, for Romney.

Do you know that Ryan has won 7 terms in a district where Obama, Bill Clinton and Al gore have won?

Whether people here want to kneel before Ryan and kiss the hem of his garment or are convinced that he’s a bed choice, it’s a done deal.

I agree with this but the distaste for Obama among Conservatives is at a historic high so they would have voted for literally anyone with an “R” behind their name.

I definetly agree with this… had a good job for 16 years… company went out of business… got another job… but only made like 40%of what I used to. Currently looking for work… but… any and all savings has been wiped because of it. I’ll get back there I feel… it’ll take time… but… i’m in my 40’s now… it won’t be easy. ( Not that it was before… but just starting out in my mid teens… I obviously had ALOT more time to save that money ).
Yea, those deadbeats that made minimum wage all their life should be ashamed.

Not necessarily. Many would have just as soon stayed home on election day.

Well, if Planned Parenthood is this much against him, then we know that Romney made the right pick!
To win the election?

As much as we may be concerned about abortion is the general populace?

Ryan will be able to articulate well what America needs to do. He will educate many Americans who do not know. I think he can cut through the rhetoric.

Franklin D Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan, no governor has had foreign policy experience

Here is an interview with the Washington Examiner Ryan did earlier this year where he talks about his foreign policy experience

Ryan has worked on legislation regarding the Middle East in congress for the the last 14 years. He said
Another reason then why Ryan is a good choice. And he has also had experience working with Democrats. I don’t think FDR can really be compared to most other Presidents regardless of whether he had foreign-policy experience or not. He was a dictatorial giant, similar to Churchill. The nation would not have survived without him. Reagan is a case apart: he had an idealistic vision for America’s place in the world and was quite sincere about bringing it to fruition, leaving aside the Iran-Contra scandal. I don’t know whether Ryan is in the same category as either of them, but perhaps he can also eventually fill the shoes of President successfully, as Romney inadvertently predicted.

Not necessarily. Many would have just as soon stayed home on election day.
Maybe, I’m no Rightist so I can only deign what is in their minds from the media and what I read among my fellow forumites here.

I lived in MA and what Iactually like about Romney is what they find the most distasteful. 🤷
