Whoa! Theyâre only government funded because the people who demand quality programming and complain about the sex and liberalism on regular TV donât support them. If those who want quality would support PBS, there would be no need to beg from the government. Iâd think good conservatives would give everything to have them succeed and wipe the demon of commercial TV of the screen. ?
Uh no, good conservatives believe in letting the market dictate what is shown. So you think that someone at PBS knows better than Joe Viewer what he
should be watching? And what makes you think everything PBS/NPR produces is quality? Itâs just your opinion.
Frankly I think much of what we see on TV now is idiotic. Note I spend time on this forum

instead! But if someone wants to buy toothpaste or cars to support âFear Factorâ or other silly program so be it.

One show??? You are condemning everything for one show??? So donât listen to him. I donât agree with many of his ideas either but its pretty boring to live in a one sided world. I hate Rush Limbaugh and ask why would any Christian, Catholics especially, fund a station which promoted Rush Limbaugh? He is disgusting and yet I listen to stations he is on because they have other quality programming I enjoy.?
I donât think anyone condemns a network because of one show. I watch Fox for some things but believe me I change the channel in a New York Minute when they start into âcelebrity gossip is really newsworthyâ mode. If Rush is on a channel you listen to for OTHER programs, surely you simply donât listen when he is on right? So surely you donât think all the rest of us are so stupid we wonât watch any PBS just because we donât like Moyers. Most of us pick and choose stations depending on the programming. The problem though with PBS is that itâs incredibly slanted and slanted the wrong way

IMO. I find very little of interest anymore although maybe the coast is clear now that the election is over.

I never said anything about âother employeesâ but maybe they believe in quality programmingâŚ
This has something to do with quality programming? We canât have any educated people talking to us, can we? Or is this just another swipe at the one program you disagree with. Is ignorance now a conservative value? ?
'scuse me but why are you under the illusion that the ONLY quality programming is on PBS? That the only educated people appear on PBS? Is that all
you watch? You really need to get out more
patg:
I couldnât have said it better. Do you always judge multidimensional, multifaceted objects based on a single thing you donât like. I bet youâre not marriedâŚ
Sorry you have such a hard time with it - just what is it you like to watch?
FWIW I like A&E but I think the Gotti series has to be about the stupidest thing Iâve ever seen. I like the History Channel but think they spend too much time on WWII. Again, I have not heard anyone claim that they donât watch PBS on principle because they donât like one thing about it. The reality is that itâs quite elitist, quite leftist with a âmommy knows bestâ attitude that frankly grates on those of us who have a few brain cells. There are many things to dislike on these stations, and that my tax dollars are going to support something like Buster the Bunny meets the Lesbian Maple Syrup Girlzzzz just puts me 'round the bend.
