People cutting in line

Pfft. Don’t. People know how to form lines. If it were a club or a movie theatre they would’ve been different

I’m honestly more curious about this healing thing. I’ve only ever heard of healing meetings like this in the context of the Protestant movement. Is the expectation that anyone who meets the priest will be healed?? And do people normally get healed?

People need to learn manners. No more cutting in line. No more dressing with your butt hanging out in mass. We are in mass!!! People are savages

The Vatican approved Catholic Charismatic Renewal is what this healing service was.

Where someone who has the Vatican Approved charism of healing, lays hands on everyone one by one, praying in tongues. God in His providence does work miraculous healings to those whom it is His will to heal, at such events.

Thanks for the clarification. I was pretty confused as I’ve only heard of such things in the Protestant churches. So the belief is that some might be healed but not all?

Doubtful. If the attitude is truly “me first, the heck with you”, why would their behavior be any different because of venue?

Some people got there an hour or more early. They sat in the front in order to go first. The people in the back were cutting people with crutches and others in wheelchairs. Why are you defending them

This video exerpt above is from the Vatican Doctrinal Commission DVD , about the history of the Vatican approved Catholic Charismatic Renewal.

This year was the 50th anniversary of the Catholic charismatic renewal, Which is overseen by the Vatican itself, and approved by the Popes, the Vatican, and by the vatican’s Doctrinal commission, who oversees the Catholic Charismatic renewal throughout the world,

See their website for the Vatican Doctrinal commission’s approval of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal :

I’m not. Why do you think I am? I’m simply saying there’s more than one way to look at things. You’re getting a tad testy over people with bad manners. I experience it every day, but getting angry or returning the attitude in kind rarely helps matters.

Someone was rude to me in traffic today. I chose to ignore because engagement would have accomplished nothing.

I am defending them because just because they were in the back does not mean their pain was less. I am defending them because where is Catholic charity and love? I am defending them because getting so upset because someone got in line first seems a little… misdirected.

God heals where He wants, how He wants. Your mother and others needn’t have been at the front to receive the healing grace of God. To think you must be touched by the priest to receive God’s grace is what led to people cutting in line in the first place.

The people at fault here are those who organized the event in such a way that not everyone could approach the priest (since that is obviously the expectation).

You know in Benny Hinn events there is no line. He simply picks people out of the crowd? Maybe, while I don’t agree that he’s a true healer, that’s how these events should be conducted in future to avoid such budging in line and bitterness.

I’m mad because my mom actually needed the healing. She’s very sick.

Waiting your turn is ‘patience.’

‘Patience’ is a virtue.

The guy in the healing ministry should have brought a healing ministry team with him (which is also done in my country) so that no one was left without individual prayer ministry.

In my country at Catholic Charismatic Renewal events, everyone who waits until the end of the event will be prayed over. No one is left without individual prayer.

This is the normal way Catholic Charismatic Renewal healing services are conducted.
Jesus never turned anyone away.

Totally I agree with this.

I’m sad to hear they didn’t plan accordingly and that so many were left disappointed because they felt they couldn’t be ministered to.

I’m not entirely clear as to why an appointment with the priest couldn’t be made for a personal visit for your mom though?

Dude my mom waited an hour for this guy. He’s a visiting priest. Idk it’s not even my parish. My mom wanted to go.

Well, I pray that God’s Will be done in her life. And in yours.

Anyway, I’ll leave it at that.

You asked what you should do in future… I suggest praying for those who budged in line and not letting anger over take you. You don’t want such meetings to become an occasion for sin. Hopefully others will weigh in to offer you more guidance that perhaps you’ll be more willing to take.

Where are you from?

Go online, Every state has a catholic charismatic renewal website where you can see regional healing services/ retreats throughout the year in various locations in your state, and the locations of weekly catholic charismatic renewal prayer groups near you,

If God desires to manifest a physical healing in your mother, 2,000,000 people cutting in line could not stop Him.

Not the point. People shouldn’t cut. Especially in front of Jesus exposed in the blessed sacrament

I seem to recall some folks who literally cut, took their sick friend up on the roof, cut a hole in the roof and lowered their sick friend to Jesus. Jesus did not chide them for “cutting”.

I’m sorry your mom didn’t get a chance to see the priest. That would have annoyed me too. I don’t mind so much just me being shut out, but we want the best for our moms. Is there any way you can call him and explain the situation, maybe take your mom for a private healing visit?

I agree with you the big events could be planned better, but in my experience they’re often short-staffed and the volunteers aren’t very good.

I would also suggest checking around for a smaller, less publicized healing Mass. There are many parishes in this area where a priest does such a thing on a fairly regular basis for parishioners. Sometimes it’s done after a weekday Mass, sometimes it’s done once a month at a special time. Granted, you won’t be seeing a big name charismatic preacher at these small Masses, but I believe the Holy Spirit works just as well through His priests who are not celebrities.
