But, not so much time and energy that you didn’t find the time to disparage other Catholics for their lack of humility, apparently.
I know I have to go to Confession over getting this ‘worked up’ over a priest I never heard of before, and suspect that this will be a recurring theme for me this year of the priesthood.
I am SO fed up of everyone complaining, and publicly bashing priests and bishops, for any reason…and I feel most upset when it is a Catholic that is doing it. That video clip really bothered me! I wish I could listen to his point without all the emotional ‘buttons’… But I did say, that I didn’t mean to just pick on him, it’s just that he was the one doing the presentation on video. Any of us, when we forget that we all make mistakes that are just that -mistakes.
As for priests…
We NEED the priesthood! There is NO other way to get the Sacraments or the Liturgy of the Mass. If on the optional things, they digress, God will take care of bringing them back to order, or at least their bishop. But it is GOD who is in charge of a priest. God is in charge…we can trust Him! We can state disagreement…without all the disrespect though.
If we are offended or worried, maybe offering a prayer for priests would be useful. Temptations come in different forms, some are physical, some are intellectual, but we must stand behind our priests, especially publicly. They are being attacked enough by outsiders that we should also turn on them. WHO absolves us when WE make mistakes?
WHAT do we have to gain from publicly opposing them? WHO benefits from a divided Church? Of course, as long as we are not speaking of matters of doctrine or dogma…and I haven’ t checked the other links, just the one the OP put initially for this specific thread.
I didn’t make any comments on the veracity of Voris’ claims, comments or his credentials.
