There is a new heresy in this modern age, and there heretics here on the forum who think that separating the Church and Jesus is a good thing. Early Christians see the unity of the Church and Christ. For Christ founded a Church. Perhaps, it is because Protestants think divorce is acceptible, they DECIDED to DIVORCE the Bride of the Lamb and Jesus Christ.

I have often heard this phrase by Non-Catholic Protestants, “I DO NOT NEED THE CHURCH, ALL I NEED IS JESUS.”

The Bible NEVER TAUGHT THAT!

Second, how do you explain the countless interpretation from Protestant sects that claim their teaching is the correct one by using the Holy Spirit as the one who taught them that? You claimed, that it contradict Scripture. Likewise, if a Christian Bob (for example) disagree with Christian Sarah on the OSAS. Sarah believes that she cannot lose her salvation while Bob says, you can lose it. Each claim the Holy Spirit told them too.

No wonder you have countless of thousands of Protestant sects all over. Different doctrines…

, since you seem to understand so much, could you please tell me why Paul addressed so many of his letters to Churches (or to people like Timothy, with instructions on how to run the Church)? You referred to the appointment of Deacons, but you missed why this was done. Acts 6:4 says, “But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.” Heb 10:24-25 says, “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some [is]; but exhorting [one another]: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” How do you assemble together with other believers? Finally, 1 Peter 4:17 says, “For the time [is come] that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if [it] first [begin] at us, what shall the end [be] of them that obey not the gospel of God?” If judgment began while Peter was still alive, why does God address the 7 Churches in Rev (and not warn anyone that the Holy Spirit has left the Churches)?=QUOTE]

Acts 6:4 says, "But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word
This is why the 12 Deacons were assembled. Because the petty bickering and the problems that the people had in the congregation, took away from the ultimate point which was to pray and preach for spiritual salvation. They could not be bothered with anything else.

Heb 10:24-25 says, “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: **Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves **together, as the manner of some [is]; but exhorting [one another]: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”

This verse is severly misinterpreted. No where does this say anything about a congregation or a church. The assembly of ONE SELF is you and the bible. If you forsake the assembly of yourself then you will not be prepared for the end, judgment, because no church wants to preach judgment like its real or going to happen. Already this is a wrong path.

1 Peter 4:17 says, “For the time [is come] that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if [it] first [begin] at us, what shall the end [be] of them that obey not the gospel of God?”

this is spread all throught the bible. There are more that tell us the established temple or in otherwords church, will have the most sever punishment because they are teaching unsound doctrine. Gods judgment begins at His house as we learn in the parable of the wheat and tares.

the wheat are the true believers, the tares are those who believe they are saved yet are not. Nobody can discern who is who except the LORD who can read any heart. Gods true church will not have any tares in it, that is, people that spread misinformation, wether by mistake or on purpose for there own greed, by serving MAMMON. The tares will have it the worst because they had the bible, Gods word, and chose to disobey his commands. This is why they are under gods wrath and why it starts at the church.

that is why i said any church, all churches from A-Z will be under gods judgment first, because it is in a church where Satan is now seated, the tares. All churches. Everysingle one of them.

the only remaining church where satan does not rule, would be the spiritual church, the wheat.

These are good questions.
A lot of twisting Scripture there. The Bible never taught that God will abandon his Church.

Mannyfit75:
You Protestants have a bad habit of separating the Church and Jesus.
For the record (and I’ve said it before), Sola Scriptura does NOT deny the authority of the Church to teach. It does hold the Church (Pastors) accountable to the Scriptures, but it does not deny the God-given teaching authority. BibleAnswer appears to be a follower of Harold Camping’s heretical teaching, and should NOT be considered a Protestant (or even a Christian). He definitely should not be considered as representative of someone who truly believes in Sola Scriptura!

I would say that anyone who takes that attitude should not be called a Protestant (I’d be curious to know what Catholic Protestants say :D). Other than that, I say “Amen!!!”

I would refer you back to my comments to PJM earlier in this thread (although you didn’t mention a specific number, so maybe you’ve already considered it and toned down the comment).

At least you recognized he teaches heresy.

Catholic Protestants? Do you mean Caferia Catholics?

Evidently you have decided you don’t need the church…at least the RCC. I find it interesting that you exercised your private interpretation and chose to accept that which the Catholic church teaches and apparently now after excercising your private interpretation again have decided that maybe the EO is the better fit for you.

I guess you no longer believe the Holy Spirit is leading the Roman Catholic church?

This was a grin on your comment “I have often heard this phrase by Non-Catholic Protestants” (bold added).

Sola scriptura [WIKI](Latin ablative, “by scripture alone”) is the doctrine that the Bible is the only infallible or inerrant authority for Christian faith, and that it contains all knowledge necessary for salvation and holiness. Consequently, Sola Scriptura demands that no doctrine is to be admitted or confessed that is not found directly or logically within Scripture. However, Sola Scriptura is not a denial of other authorities governing Christian life and devotion. Rather, it simply demands that all other authorities are subordinate to, and are to be corrected by, the written word of God. Sola scriptura was a foundational doctrinal principle of the Protestant Reformation held by the Reformers and is a formal principle of Protestantism today

Hello,
Sola Scriptura is also a document explaining a principal. That is all well and good, as it seems to imply that I only take the docrine from between the two covers of the bible. This would be a true statement.
However the bit about recognizing “other” authorities governing Christian life and devotion is false. There is no other governing authority to teach what Christian life is and should be, and also devotion. I do not believe in that statement and so I do not believe in Sola Scriptura.

The reason why Church was instituted was explained by Christ here in Acts 1:8 But when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you will receive power and will tell people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Now you call me heretic which is laughable. However this is my point concerning NEW information and NEW understanding; from laymen just like me.

God says this in Daniel 12:4 “But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and KNOWLEDGE SHALL INCREASE.”

Rev 5:1 And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. [4] So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it.

This implies that information was locked and sealed and no Pope or priest or prophet could define it, not even the multitude in Heaven. This was happening until the two witnesses were killed. Once they were killed, Satan was loosed, and the seals were broken. 1900 years later. Read on to see. Then we read the seals are finally broken.

Rev 5:5 But one of the elders said to me, Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Rood of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.

This is now, it just so happens to be now. The proofs are the NEW INFORMATION being ESTABLISHED by GOD through HIS WORD.
In other words NEW BIBLE INFORMATION.

1 Peter 4:17 “Judgment must begin at the house of God.”

Therefore we can know that the corporate external church known as congregations and denominations have no assurance that they are safe from the wrath of God.

Since the true believers within a congregation cannot come under Gods wrath, this warning was particularly leveled against the corporate or external body. Even as the seven churches in Revelation 2 and 3 were judged and were completely removed, so any and every congregation can come under the judgment of God.

Gal 6:16 speaks of the New Testament church as the Israel of God.

Lev 26:30 And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcasses upon the carcasses of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you.”

Ezek 6:3,4 And say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord God; Thus saith the Lord God to the mountains and to the hills, to the rivers and to the valleys; Behold I even I, will bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy your high places. And your altars shall be desolate, and you images shall be broken: and I will cast down your slain men before your idols.

Daniel 7:25 God prophesied: And he shall speak great words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

The he God is talking about is SATAN. not man. ONLY spiritual things remember. The enemy of GOD is SATAN. When Satan is being referred to in a masculine noun, it is lower cased. Satan shall speak great words against the Most High, and shall where out the Saints of the Most High, and think to change times and laws… Satan is spiritual just as God is spiritual. Satan corrupts mans minds. Satan most definataly has this authority.

Daniel 8:11.,12 the Bible declares: Yea he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down. And a host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practiced, and prospered.

This is referring the DEVIL magnifying himself to Christ stature, so he was cast out of Heaven. By reason of transgression, a host, that is people who believe in God and the Devil, was given to the DEVIL, to throw down the truth and pollute its meaning, and practice and prosper false doctrine unbeknown to you generations later. The CATHOLIC CHURCH or any church is not infallible to the WORD OF GOD.

Revelation 11 the Bible speaks of the two witnesses who represent the churches as they bring the Gospel to the world, such authority was given to the apostles. In Rev 11:7 we read And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit and shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

This is talking about Satan killing the two witnesses, who are symbolic of the church, and making war against them, that is the church.

2 Thes 2:3,4 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

Also similarily,

Matt 24:15,16 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophen, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand,) then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains. (Flee to God Ps 12:1)

Whoso readeth, let him understand, is pointedly saying look deeper, find the spiritual meaning, dont read this like a book it will make no sense at all. The man of sin, the man of perdition, the abomination of desolation are all talking about the DEVIL. The bible is spiritual, it doesn’t concern itself with some politacal Damien, or a person to corrupt the church. People dont do that, it is SATAN. SATAN was given this authority.

This is why it is important to read the bible and not trust a church. Wheat and tares,

Wheat and tares

2 Thes 2:3,4 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, **except there come a falling away first, **and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God

oh yes, the falling away i was refering to earlier. this would be the HOLY SPIRIT leaving the church, now that SATAN has established himself as ruler. The HOLY SPIRIT works through HIS WORD only, the bible, not a congregation pr any denomination. Only by not foresaking the assembly of ourselves, that is you and the bible, will you know right from wrong

See how comparing scripture to scripture opens up a whole new world.

Not really its. A world created from your personal interpretation of Scripture just one of the thousands of alterante ubiverses created by those who believe they are the arbiter of what Scriture says

So, the two witnesses (isn’t this Enoch and Elijah?) are killed in Jerusalem, their bodies are left unburied for 3 1/2 days, then they are raised to life, taken to Heaven, and an earthquake strikes Jerusalem. When did this happen (please give details)?

Just curious, what do you think is going to happen on May 21, 2011?

Hi Bible Answer;

1 question for you to start;

which Canon do you use (Protestant/Catholic/ or some Orthodox Canon)?

Gen 5:21 Enoch lived sixty five years, and begot Methuselah.
Gen 5:23 So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty five years.
Gen 5:24 And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.

Enoch was translated into heaven by God. Enoch never physically died, as is written here in the bible. Nothing about 3 1/2 days is ever mentioned.

Elijah was taken up into heaven by a chariot of fire. He was also translated into heaven. He never died physically.

There is nothing about a 31/2 or anything similar that has any spiritual significance concerning these two.

The bible is spiritual, concerning salvation, That is the battle between heaven and hell, Christ and the devil.

No the two witnesses are church. the representative of Christ. Now it is dead. And we are to flee for the spiritual church, that is in the bible.

The other guy still doesn’t get that besides the thousands of denominations, they all have different truths because there doctrine is based off of church teachings. Church teachings are based off of the bible we know, i know,

but as i quoted scripture above, there is a falling away and a pollution of the truth. Catholic church, ANY DENOMINATION, protestant included, are under the authority of church, and the church is under the authority of the DEVIL.

That is from the bible that isn’t even that parabolic to be that confusing.

The reason why the judgment begins at the house of God, is because people like me, preach the truth, and the people that hear it, do not want to hear it, so punishment is magnified because you are openly rebelling against God, by choosing to not listen to the bible but the church. This is clear as day.

okay so the Protestant Canon. 66 books. Why?
The Protestant Bible, is the Bible that identifies with the Old testament Hebrew text and the New testament Greek text. The “extra” books that are in the Roman Catholic bible, which they call the “Apocrypha” or “hidden books” were written one or two hundred years before the time of Christ, are not part of the Holy Canon. they are not the Word of God.

As you become more knowledgeable about how God wrote the bible, it is easy to determine what books should be in the Bible. When you read any part of the tru Bible, and look for the Gospel message, you find a consistent statement as to what the Gospel is. It might be hidden, it might be found only when we see the spiritual meaning of what God has written, but when you look at these other books, you do not find the Gospel in every part of them. The Gospel message is not found there because they were not written by God.

There is no church that goes back to the time of Moses. God began to write the Bible in the days of Moses3500 years ago, July 1447 BC exactly. No denomination that exists today, except the Jewish religion, had anything to do with the books of the Old Testament, which is more than half of the Bible. Thus a church might claim that they decided what books were to go into the Bible, and they decided that Peter was the first pope, and they decided that the church began in Rome, and they claim or decided a whole lot of things, but that does not make the things true.

We have to let the Bible tell us, God wrote the Bible. the bible is His Word; He decided what books were to go into the Bible, How He did that is immaterial; He obviously used men at some point, but the mechanics of it makes no difference. God was in charge. We read in 2 Pet 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

The 66 book Canon I would argue goes back to Martin Luther. Luther was also thinking of removing James, if you want to stick w/ Luther’s Canon that’s your choice. The Catholic Bible goes back to the 4th Century and up to about the 15th. Where does the Bible tell you what books belong in it? The early Church used the Septuagint.

You seem to be trying to convince me that you (personally) can discern which books belong and which don’t. Where does it say in the Bible that the OT has to be Hebrew and the NT Greek. What language do you think Mathew was written in?

The Deuterocanonicals are also used in the Greek Orthodox Church. Why do these Apostolic Churches have them and the Protestants not?
