Hillary first promoted birtherism.
She was intrigued.

I think it is easy for those of us who live comfortable lives to think of what others pay in taxes as insignificant. There was a time in my life when my budget for groceries was $10 a week. Even a modest tax cut would have had a significant impact on my budget. I might have been able to upgrade from peanut butter to beef hearts. However, it is true that the decrease in the tax bill from the tax cuts went disproportionately to high income people. That might be reasonable if there was an economic reason for that, but the tax bill was not designed with economic reasoning in mind.Minimum wage earners either don’t pay taxes or what they pay is insignificant after personal exemptions and standard deduction. Tax tables are graduated so the more you make, the more you pay percentage wise.
Apparently you don’t. On many threads on this forum we have gone 'round and 'round on what constitutes hate.I do note the drift, but hate is rather specific,
For some reason eight years in power seems to leave the president’s party in tatters. The same could be said for Bush. I guess nothing like a common enemy to unite a group of people.Historians will eventually acknowledge Obama left the Dem party in tatters and failed to implement any policy changes that were bi-partisan and survived even one term.
But that wasn’t my point. I made no judgment on minimum wage earners. I was just trying to explain how the tax system works.qui_est_ce:![]()

That’s because high income people pay more taxes. Also, high income people are often the job creators. Reducing their overhead leaves them more cash to hire people (think lawn mowing, cleaning people, etc.).However, it is true that the decrease in the tax bill from the tax cuts went disproportionately to high income people. That might be reasonable if there was an economic reason for that, but the tax bill was not designed with economic reasoning in mind.
So you imagine losing over 1,000 state and local seats is a sign of his superior leadership? For some reason eight years in power seems to leave the president’s party in tatters. The same could be said for Bush. I guess nothing like a common enemy to unite a group of people.
When did I ever say that Obama had superior leadership? I said nothing positive about his leadership. Clearly your reading comprehension needs remedial work. Time to put up or shut up. When did I ever praise Obama’s leadership? So you imagine losing over 1,000 state and local seats is a sign of his superior leadership?
In my opinion he didn’t have the political skill to deal with the rough and tumble of politics. In my opinion, Bill Clinton was much better at it, people could insult him and he could still work deals with people. I am not sure that we have any president in our lifetime that could be said to be truly great. He was the leader of the free world! Why would you NOT praise his leadership??? But call him the greatest President of our Lifetime???
I would argue that it is a function of our polarized political culture. There is a need to portray the enemy and pure evil and your side a always virtuous. Bill Clinton has extramarital affairs, that is a character flaw, Don Trump has extramarital affairs, he is not running for archbishop after all.Right. And I would love to read the analysis of Obama’s supporters in 50-100 years too. What amounts to an inability to see anything wrong, ever. Worship. Why the need to do this? It is a rhetorical question. Thought exercise.![]()
I don’t see Trump supporters criticizing Trump and nobody can dispute that there are plenty of things he can be criticized for.Right, so don’t you find it odd that no one on the left ever criticizes Obama?
Well we have members who think it’s ok to call Trump ‘Cheeto’. I guess by that standard it would be acceptable to give Obama a nickname referencing his skin color? What will be the standard of evidence of hate toward Obama?
