Katherine, be careful what you read online. My 86 year old father-in-law had a kidney with a cancer tumor removed last month. He took a few weeks to recover, mostly from side effects of the anesthesia and pain meds. But he’s up and around now, just tiring a bit easier than he used to. Waiting on his next scan.
Continuing prayers for you!

Thank you for that … because what I’m reading online is scaring me.

I will keep your father-in-law in my prayers.

Don’t get too far ahead of things Katherine. One step at a time. Live in today, and also, in your recovery when that time comes.

Worrying never changes anything, but less stress and prayer do. 🙂

My suggestion for you is to limit your Internet use to this forum and videos of cute puppies and kittens. I highly recommend beagle videos and Peanuts cartoons. :hugs:

Thank you … I think I’ll take that advice and let the surgeon at Sloan Kettering figure out the next steps on Saturday … give myself the week to recuperate from the surgery I just had.

Good idea. Continued prayers for you.

Glad to hear you have less pain now.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from

the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal (Katherine438). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by

speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.

You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from

the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into Katherine438’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with Thee.
Blessed art Thou among women
And Blessed is the fruit of Thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God
Pray for those in nursing homes now
and at the hour of our death.
Amen

You are in my daily prayers. 🙏

Lord, I come before you today in need of your healing hand. In you all things are possible. Hold my heart within yours, and renew my mind, body, and soul.

I am lost, but I am singing. You gave us life, and you also give us the gift of infinite joy. Give me the strength to move forward on the path you’ve laid out for me. Guide me towards better health, and give me the wisdom to identify those you’ve placed around me to help me get better.

In your name I pray, Amen.

Thank you all for your prayers.

A friend told me that a CT scan without contrast misses a lot … so the test I had was unreliable … going to have to wait to see what tests Sloan Kettering gives me to show this cancer and if it spread.

I can’t have regular contrast because of my kidneys … however there is a PET/CT that uses a dye type of contrast that I can use … so hopefully the surgeon will give me that test.

My appointment at Sloan Kettering is this coming Saturday at 8 a.m.

Okay, you know the drill now, I will set a reminder on my phone, friend! Until then, I pray that God will hold you in his tender embrace and ease your fears. I know it’s easier said than done, but try and relax. Binge watch something, or watch a favorite movie. Anything to stop worrying.

Thank you so much … I put out a call to the surgeon that I saw down here to see what he has to say … beyond that I will just wait for Sloan Kettering. I have to deal with the fact that whatever this is it is and all the worrying in the world is not going to change it. Jesus can change the course of events, so praying to Jesus is my recourse.

The only thing I binge watch is Law & Order … so I’ll take your advice on that one.

Thanks for being there for me … it is truly appreciated my friend. God Bless you.

Hugs
Katherine

I got a letter from the first surgeon I saw with prescriptions to get the blood work and tests for the kidney surgery … I’m not going with him, I’m going to Sloan … but his letter scared me. I’m in a horrible mindset right now.

Intentionally or not, it can be intimidating. Just remember you have the final say and are in charge. Continued prayers for your peace, and great decisions.

Katherine, you didn’t really like him to begin with because of his ways of thinking. So put his requests out of your mind. What he says “doesn’t count.” Okay? You can’t listen to both of them, so don’t look back toward him now. Again, Sloan Kettering is The place to go. Anyone in NY tri-state area knows that. 😉
Put the letter away, go watch Law and order.

We all are covering you with our prayers!

You are in my daily prayers 🙏🙏🙏

A HEALING PRAYER.

O Jesus, Good Shepherd,
You heal the sick and needy.
I give you all those parts of my body
which have suffered from illness.
You know what it is like to endure pain.

Look kindly on me today and heal me.
Restore me to strength of soul and body. Give Your gift of wisdom to my physician that he may be guided by the Holy Spirit in all he does. Bless my nurses so that their hands will become Your hands as they touch me. Bless, too, my medication.
O Jesus, grant us all Your healing grace of love and peace.
Amen.
🙏

Watch, O Lord, with those who wake,
or watch, or weep tonight, and give Your angels and saints charge over those who sleep. Tend Your sick ones, O Lord Christ. Rest Your weary ones. Bless Your dying ones. Soothe Your suffering ones. Pity Your afflicted ones. Shield Your joyous ones, and all for Your loves sake.
Amen. 🙏
