Oh, Cassie, thank you for the update! I was at the beatification Mass in Birmingham for Bl. John Henry Newman and remembered your intentions. (It was wonderful to see our Holy Father!)It has been awhile since I have been on the forum. Harvest is in full swing here and God has blessed the farmers with a bountiful crop and has also kept me very busy.
Thank you my brothers and sisters for your continued prayers, they mean so much to me.
John has found work, but is not happy where he is at. He is coming home in the next few days before taking off again for another job. I have been praying that he gets a job closer to home, we shall see.
I have been having ups and downs with John leaving, sometimes crying myself to sleep wondering why I keep doing this, but somewhere between the night and when I wake up, I’ve forgotten my doubt and continue to keep going. John and I have come a long way since my first post over 2 years ago. I know that I have doubted God a few times, but He has always won. I know that John struggles with his bipolar and is still trying to find the right dosage of medication, but he is trying and has acknowledged his illness which is a big step. I ask that you continue to keep John in your prayers because I know that he is a good man and a good father.
My mom is doing well, but misses my dad from time to time. Even though I do not live close to her, she has most of her grandkids within a few miles of her, which keeps her in good spirits.
I pray that this finds all of you in good health and spirits. May God bless all!
Cassie
Lord, hear our prayer.Found the new thread!
I’m so glad that your niece is getting better - may Our Lady continue to protect her, her family and loved ones.
Dull weather sometimes brings my mood down as well (though I know, of course, that the underlying reason for your sadness is more important). I think you’re doing all the right things in terms of bringing it to God, particularly when you feel so sad. I tend to take consolation in the words of Blssd. Cardinal John Henry Newman:
Therefore, I will trust Him, whatever I am, I can never be thrown away.
If I am in sickness, my sickness may serve Him,
In perplexity, my perplexity may serve Him.
If I am in sorrow, my sorrow may serve Him.
He does nothing in vain.
He knows what He is about.
He may take away my friends.
He may throw me among strangers.
He may make me feel desolate, make my spirits sink, hide my future from me.
Still, He knows what He is about.
Continuing to pray for you and John, and for all your intentions! :console:
God bless.![]()
