Memorare (Prayer to Our Lady)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

Thank you my friends for your prayers1

Since I posted last I have gone to visit John and he is doing okay. He still has his down moments, but he recognizes them and tries to work through them and talk to me. We had a wonderful time while I was visiting him and wish that the time wasn’t so short. I may be able to spend a few months with him this winter if my job will allow it without putting my job in jeopardy.

John has been going to Mass again! He has not been to the Church for many years so this is a reason to rejoice. He has found that attending Mass gives him peace and more in touch with God. While I was visiting we went to Mass together, the first time in many years and it moved me to tears, I wasn’t sure that I would ever see the day when he would open his heart again to the Lord, but he has.

I hope that this finds all of you well and that you are all in my prayers even when I don’t post much.

Cassie, I just gave thanks earlier this afternoon for the healing which our Lord has already brought about in your marriage. Come, Holy Spirit, and fill their hearts with a deeper love of God, and from that solid foundation, turn them toward each other to restore the Sacrament that is, in your Eyes, two fleshes made one. Amen!

Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Cassie, these are miracles occurring. I am so sorry for your pain, but clearly there is hope.

Praying the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Cassie and John are remembered in daily prayer. Last evening and again this evening, their intention was placed before our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. Amen.

Hello, dear Cassie! I’m sorry for not having posted in a long time… Just to let you know that I’m still praying for you and John. I was so happy to hear that he’s going back to Mass - I know you must be so happy too.

I hope your Advent and Christmas are full of blessings - I’m sure they will be!

God bless and with every good wish,
Siobhán. :hug3:

Thank you my friends for your prayers!

It has been awhile since I have been on CAF, but all of you are in my daily prayers.

John will be home the week of Christmas. We talk every day and he is really worn out and tired. He goes to Mass when he can, but his supervisors think that they can work 24/7 all the time without much rest. John said it was going to be a matter of time before something happened and it did. Yesterday one of the workers was killed on the job when a pipe hit him. Please keep this man’s family in your prayers.

John has been sick and finally took two days off because he couldn’t function. I pray for him everyday that he remains safe and that his bosses will see that they are working with human beings, not machines and that they need some rest.

I recently got laid off from my job. It is not what I wanted but I am suppose to return to work in March. I do have time now to get things done at home and prepare for the return of all the kids. Our oldest son will be back for Christmas after serving a tour in the Middle East. We have not seen him in three years, so we are excited. Pray that he has a safe return to the States. Our youngest will be back from the pipeline and the middle one is currently laid off and at home with me. We also welcomed a new addition to the family. Our middle son and his girlfriend had a baby boy in October. They are not married ( yet) but are good parents to their son. I know my son has reservations about getting married again after the first one which was annulled.

I will be having surgery on Monday for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I have suffered with it for 12+ years and it is time to do something. I have trouble drivng long distances because my hands will go numb. I know sometimes this surgery doesn’t help, but I know people who have had the surgery and are 100% better. I have faith that the doctor will help, in fact when I went in today for Pre-op after everything was done the doctor asked me if he would like him to pray for me, which we did. ( This doctor is one of the few that will ask and he is a very religious man without being pushy)

I hope this finds everyone in good health and spirits and that you enjoy this Advent season.

Blessings To All,
Cassie

Cassie, you and John remain in daily prayer. Most Thursdays and Fridays, I place your intention before our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. I was able to do so last evening. May Christ’s peace and healing be with you.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women and
blessed is the Fruit of thy woomb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

I hope that all of you had a Blessed Christmas.

I had everyone home for Christmas, which hasn’t happened in 6 years. John’s grandson was baptized the 23rd which made this time even more special. John’s son and his girlfriend are becoming closer, I pray that eventually that they will be a family for John’s grandson’s sake, but even if they don’t I pray that their son knows how much he is loved.

John is back at work and I again am home alone. I am concerned about John in that he stopped taking his medication again saying he hasn’t felt as depressed. I know the cycle and I am afraid that when he swings downward it will be worse than it was this fall when I went out to see him. I also found out that he has not broken communication with the other woman and in fact there was another that lives here in our hometown. I am not sure what to do, he also continues to chat with women online. He asked for my forgiveness awhile ago and I told him that I had forgiven him a long time ago. We will be divorced for 2 years in February and during this time I have still maintained that our marriage can be saved, but I am starting to have second thoughts. I know I can not change another person, they have to want that for themselves. As crazy as it sounds, I know John loves me, but I don’t think it is the same way I love him. I pray that God will help John and I during this time. I have not mentioned to John that I know about his continued communications and his online chats. I don’t even know where to begin. Please keep John in your prayers.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Cassie, you and John remain in my daily prayers. I as able to offer prayer for the two of you before our Lord in the Tabernacle this morning. Amen.

Dear Cassie,

The only thing that comes to my mind is the big picture: that your souls remain in God’s grace and that you one day see the face of God in Heaven. For that I pray.

Praying the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Cassie, you and John remain in daily prayer that the healing which you have experienced will continue. Amen.

Dear Cassie,

I’m sorry for not posting sooner - thank you for your updates! You mentioned that you have pain from carpal tunnel. My mom has the very same complaint! It looks like it can be very sore. The doctor said that the only way hers can be cured is to perform surgery to remove a vertebra from her neck (which is pressing down on a nerve and causing pain). She refuses to let anyone do anything of the sort to her as she knows that if it were to go wrong, she could well end up paralysed. Thankfully, it’s not been affecting her as much of late - at least, that’s what she tells me! She’s been advised to go easy on the more demanding manual work - that can trigger the pain. She’s also taken up swimming again which she loves and I believe that can help as well. I know you’ve got the farm and are so busy, but I hope you take time to be gentle to yourself and let your body (and mind) rest.

I was glad that all eight of us were home for Christmas - even if for a few days. I’m glad to hear that that was the case with your family too. At least the secular world recognises the family as being at the heart of Christmas. If only they would afford the same affection for the Holy Family too!

I don’t think it’s a crazy notion that John loves you too. I’d imagine he loves you very dearly, even if he doesn’t say it to you and even if he isn’t fully concious of it. Whatever God has planned for you, you’re fighting the good fight by standing firm with your marriage and John’s welfare in mind. I’m certainly no mine of wisdom in myself as I don’t have nearly as much experience as you do - I can only look to Church wisdom and the patience involved in my parents’ marriage.

I’m still very much praying for both of you and for your marriage and will continue to do so.

Sending lots of love from Ireland… :hug1:

Beannacht Dé,
nahbios.

EDIT:
P.S. I think that jamesneiman wrote tremendously important words based on those of Christ: essentially, seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness (see Matthew 6:33). Being in a state of grace and especially final perseverance is what we should strive for through Christ. Once those are achieved, everything will be alright. 🙂
