Please pray for my son to continue gaining weight

Thank you for your prayers for Colton. As far as I know, he is doing well. He’s been with his daddy these past several days although I have gotten him off the bus each day as I usually do. I’m not sure if his appetite is doing better or not. He does have a weight check on Friday so please pray that he will have gained some weight.

Hey everyone. Thank you very much for your prayers for Colton.

Anyway, we now know exactly what is wrong with Colton. He had genetic testing done and the testing shows that he has a duplication of the 15th chromosome and that is what is causing his feeding difficulties and his slow growth. We are now going to be referred to a genetic specialist. They are going to want to test his daddy for genetic problems as well because he had the same problems when he was a child and he may have passed on the chromosomal abnormality to Colton.

In other news, Colton had his weight check on Friday and he lost a little over a pound of weight. His nurse practitioner said it was probably because he is getting used to not having his feeding tube done at lunch time and that it was normal. She thinks that once he gets used to not having the feeding tube at lunch time, he will grow again.

Anyway, please keep my mom in your prayers. My mom is extremely upset about Colton’s problem and she is very scared. She is worried that Colton could die because one of the symptoms that can happen is heart abnormalities and other organ abnormalities. It’s possible that Colton has that but it’s also possible that he does not. We will have to discuss it with his doctor. But anyway, please pray for my mom. She lost my older sister before her 3rd birthday due to a heart condition and she is terrified she will lose her grandson now too.

We still have Colton’s consultation with the ear nose and throat doctor on November 13th to go and we also have the allergist appointment to go to which I think is a couple of days after that. I will keep you updated as soon as we get more information or if anything else changes.

Hey everyone. Thank you very much for your prayers for Colton. His appetite wasn’t the greatest today but he has not puked in a few weeks and so that is definitely a good thing. We are going to Indianapolis for the consultation with his ear nose and throat doctor on Wednesday. We’ll probably find out when he will have surgery to get his tonsils removed then. Please continue to keep us in your prayers.

Hey everyone. We just left Colton’s ear nose and throat doctor. He is going to have surgery on January 10th to have his tonsils removed. We think he gained weight. He was just under 30 lbs. Of course, scales differ.
