For all my disagreements with the moderators, I’ve seen plenty banned from both sides of the spectrum and they are pretty good about trying to be impartial.

You owe Bob an apology.
No I don’t owe him anything.

This did not start today.

He has been very direct at other threads and he has gone and put a complaint against me. For what? For being a devils advocate.

I will not apologize to him bc I haven’t done anything wrong.

Let’s see what we know so far:
  1. The shooter was a US born citizen and a Muslim.
  2. He claimed to be part of ISIS.
  3. The FBI talked to him twice in 2013 about ISIS related activities.
  4. He beat his ex-wife.
  5. He was upset that he say gay people kissing in front of his 3 year old son.
  6. He legally owned the weapon (AR-15) that he used to murder 50 people and would another 53.
  7. He targeted a gay nightclub.
We’ll have to wait for more information, but it seems to me that this shooter has more in common with Dylan Roof shooting (who shot up a black Church because of his racial views) or the Robert Dear shooting (who shot up a Planned Parenthood Clinic because of his religious views) than the San Bernardino or Foot Hood shootings (where a Muslim picked ‘soft’ targets). It seems that the gay club was chosen in particular because of his views of homosexuality.

That said, it certainly begs the obvious question on how a shooter who beat his ex-wife and was ‘on the radar’ of the FBI for possibly being involved with ISIS was able to own weapons that murdered 50 people and wounded another 53. But I know nothing will change. The tree of liberty must be refreshed with the blood of the innocent so that the 2nd Amendment can remain in place for those that fantasize that the only thing keeping the government from turning tyrannical is their little handguns.

Do you think that your feeling concerning this massacre and the victims have more to do with your personal history? Being in an LGBTQ nightclub is not a sin. My daughter, who is 31 and lives in Santa’s Monica told me this morning that many straight people patronize gay clubs too, especially if the music and dancing are good. To continue, unless people are openly having sex on the dance floor, what is to be afraid of? The Church does not indicate that being gay is a sin in itself. Hopefully some kind of hope will reveal itself after the initial shock is over. In my heart, I pray than those who still hold LGBTQ individuals to be inferior and freaks will realize that humans are humans and their sexual orientation is just one component of their personality. When I read what the ignorant It. Governor of Texas wrote, quoting from the OT, this morning, I was physically sick. Of course, he immediately deleted the comment. Pat Robertson also put a message up that indicated that gay humans deserve whatever horrible incident or disease that might befall them. What wonderful followers of the Gospels these two are. This has to stop. There are so many sins that are far worse than the sexual ones that still continue to be the focus of old school Catholics, such as racism, homophobia, and the rampant belief that those who follow a religion other than Christianity are going to hell. The biggest sin of all, according to my pea sized brain, is teaching your children to fear and hate those who are different.
One wonders what the reaction would have been if 50 people tracked down by their Ashley Madison accounts would have been. Sadly, it would have been different and you know it.

What makes me physically sick is not words from those who rightfully believe that homosexuality is disordered and not consistent with thier faith. But rather those who kill fifty of them in the name of their God.
That is what separates the civilized from the uncivilized. A Christian or Muslim is free to follow the teaching of thier faith when homosexuality is concerned. I certainly do.

But when one kills for it. Man, that’s more horrendous.

Implying a forum member gets favorable treatment from a moderator is a serious accusation.

Well since I’m not buddies with the moderators here at CAF like yourself, I have to be careful with what I post.

But I stand by what I say, some here (if my comments fit you, oh well) look at republicans, the right as sinless.

Look at your posts and how quickly you defect it to the left.

You’ll probably send a private message to the moderator and have him give me an infraction.
You should chill

The conspiracy theory is a bit overplayed and you know it.

And I have the information to show it. Was having a private conversation with another person with a similar issue.

Trust me, I took to the higher ups, above the moderator.

It’s nothing against estesbob or the moderator, but everyone has to be treated the same. There’s a line and if someone is tip toeing that line for such a long time, they must get corrected.

You should lay out the evidence then. If you can’t, all you have is conjecture and it should be a private affair between the parties.

But this is not a thread about others. The information has been presented in a private matter with the higher ups.

No apologies from my part, but let the thread continue.

There are fundamentalist Christians who could just as easily have committed a similar act of terror against LGBT people. It’s not only radical Muslims who believe that LGBT people deserve death. Plenty of fundamentalist Christians do to. So I agree that this slaughter could be about religion, but it’s about a certain kind of fundamentalist religiosity that exists in numerous faiths, not just in Islam.
I don’t think it’s so farfetched that someone could even simply misconstrue what they hear about homosexuality and about the LGBT community from some Christians or misconstrue the rhetoric from some Christian groups and then go out and act on their own against LGBT individuals. Let us pray not.

You would think it would be an absolute nightmare for everyone, not just Democrats. Instead we have Republicans here speculating about how this tragedy will help Trump. Some even sound downright gleeful. It’s disgusting. I’m out of here.
I agree. So don’t get too far ahead of me, Songcatcher. You might soon see me in your rearview mirror. 👍

No offence, but why is discussion being had about what Christians or a Christian might do, which has nothing to nothing to do with this case in Orlando? There are millions of Christians in the USA, many different denominations and individuals and has there ever been a single incident that is comparable to the attack in Orlando?

I’m chill as a slurpee

No conspiracy theories just facts.
Ha, reminds me of Dwayne Wade … “cool like a penguin in a tanktop” “like a yeti, eating frozen spaghetti", “like a streaker at a hockey game”

I was replying to Thorolfr. But mass shootings and bombings and terror have not been limited to those who misconstrue mainstream Islam. And as I said let us pray no one misconstrues something they might hear from a Christian with regard to LGBT individuals. Tha’s all Abyssinia. No offense taken and none to you.

washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2016/06/12/orlando-shooting-suspects-father-hosted-a-political-tv-show-and-even-tried-to-run-for-the-afghan-presidency/
The father of Omar Mateen, identified by police as the man behind the carnage at an Orlando nightclub early Sunday morning, is an Afghan man who holds strong political views, including support for the Afghan Taliban. In a video he posted on Saturday, he appears to be portraying himself as the president of Afghanistan.

Eternal rest grant unto them, oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. :gopray:

Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy, Lord have mercy. Amen.
Amen.

I never file complaints with the Moderators
