It’s not clear what the word “sigh” on its own would mean. I guess when you say something that is ambiguous it is easy for people to put words in your mouth.
Cardinal Tagle is very close to Pope Francis and fully shares his synodal vision of a missionary church and his concern for the poor, which is also reflected in his own lifestyle.

That can only be a good thing.

Profile in the NCR from 2013, when he was already being spoken of as a papabile:


20 years younger than Francis, he perhaps seems to be a natural successor.

Cardinal Tagle looks like an excellent choice for the position. May he serve well.
 
I take it you don’t like Pope Francis then. Or Cardinal Tagle.
 
This thread is the CAF equivalent of vague-booking. 🙃

I’m unfamiliar with Cardinal Tagle, but I’m glad to see some Asian representation in this effort, and he seems well qualified.

I went to a well-attended Mass with Cardinal Tagle in Anaheim, CA at the LA Religious Education Congress in early 2018. I think that he’s a good choice and the need for Evangelization is great in Asia and everywhere.
