Way back in 1967 my high school religion teacher gave us a rule of thumb: " When you read of Church matters in the secular press, you can, in good conscience, believe the opposite.":
That’s some mighty fine advice, right there!

Horses for courses. JP2 was explicitly making a point about the sanctity and value of the lives even of the elderly and frail.
Exactly. Remember everything that was going on with Terry Sciavo at the time?

It was such a surprise resignation, now I am feeling very sad… because you figure the Pope will stay in there for life.

A few observations heard on the radio:

Nowadays our life expectancy is longer however I don’t know if that plays into things unless one really figured it out statistically, a lot of people still lived a long time in the past…

Pope Benedict XVI was indeed a Conservative.

Feb. 11th, feast day of Our Lady of Lourdes said on a Catholic station, is also the day of the sick.

Prayers for all.

Or get up and off of CAF! 😃
Well, yes, this is addictive, too, but this site has intelligent content. On facebook you can see people losing their breakfast for all the partying they did the night before. And other silly useless stuff…

CAF is one of the only things that help me keep my sanity on the web. 😛

 lightening striking the Vatican?!

No that wasn’t a lightning bolt, sillies! That as a lazer firing from the secret Vatican Lazer Cannon up to Heaven to request advice for the Conclave.

…Or it could just be lightning.

I was sent this link of the picture by email - as a ‘good’ sign, but dear Lord was it a good or a negative sign? I love PBV1 and I always will, obviously this was meant to happen either way.

Dolezal;10342888]What? 😦 I love the Pope Benedict. Let’s hope and pray his successor will be as holy and orthodox as him if true. The Church really can’t use a weak or liberal Pope right now.
According to the book, “The Last Pope” by John Hogue, (published by Element Books Ltd 2000,) Benedict XVI was the penultimate pope (for what that’s worth). Personally, I view the prophesies of St Malachy as being somewhat in the same vein as those of Nostradamus. i.e. capable of being interpreted to suit ones’ paradigm. However, what does anybody else think about it (the statement in the book I mean)?

Actually, “private revelation” is a bit off-limits here.

But maybe it can go in the end-times thread in the back fence section, I’m not sure. I read that thread from time to time.
