People need to have a good conscience when voting. I don’t always see that and some folks are clearly fighting their better judgement/conscience to vote against their values.
Who gets to decide the values? Who gets to decide what is a “good conscience”?

BTW, if you want to dicuss greed, lets talk about the greediest among us. Government workers. We have a huge bloated government payroll. At 50% to as much as 70% of those people are doing work that amounts to busy work.

Who gets to decide the values?
A Catholic has the Church’s teaching available to identify proper moral values. The Church doesn’t “decide” what is proper morality, but rather identifies it by the lead of the Holy Spirit. :o Even non-Catholics can use the light of the “natural law,” which essentially measures moral issues with regard to their proper place in the human condition. So for example, anyone can see murder is wrong because a human is naturally and properly due a right to life. Etc…

So, in the teaching that I read. The church teaches me to work hard, save for a rainy day. Make sure I am not a burden to people. to not have false compassion. That if I want to help those less fortunate than myself, its up to me to do so and not to force others to do so.

You question ‘conservative Catholics’ and ‘Catholic Republicans’ on ‘following his lead’ in regards to issues that you name, but I don’t see anywhere in your post you saying that you are waiting to see Liberal Catholics and Catholic Democrats, in comparison, do the same in regards to Pope Francis’ views on abortion, same-sex marriage and gender theory, if they disagree with Pope Francis on those issues.
Exactly, therefore it begs the question why the need to proclaim “I am not a liberal”?

I think because he has made comments that are perceived by Westerners to be issues that are the custody of liberals (such as caring for the environment and helping the poor). And because someone apparently asked him if he was a liberal:Asked to comment on the many media outlets who are asking if the Pope is liberal…
