Sharia law is not compatible with civil law and society based on human and individual rights and responsibilities.
1 percent is a pretty good extimate of those involved in strapping on bombs to people and sending them onto a bus full of children.
40 percent is probably a low estimate for those who believe in sharia law, and things like those who insult Mohammed ought to be executed, as per sharia law.
The devil is in the details. If over half of Catholics would agree that people who insult the pope need to be executed by the machinations of the state, it would be not too broad of a brush to portray that as a pretty big part of Catholicism.
With over 50 percent of Catholics voting for the pro-abortion candidates in many or most elections, it is not too broad of a brush to say that Catholics are like that.
Add in an ecclesiastical law that is pro-choice, and it would be a pretty good picture of Catholicism too.
I for one want people to paint an accurate picture of Catholicism, or the Irish, or the British, even when it is ugly. Truth needs to take priority over feelings.
