Really? This is an example on how not to be tactful.
Did I miss your question? What was it?Really?
We have a rather large base of bible only Christians.
None responded with scripture to my question.
Is it rude for me to ask them to supply it?![]()
Anytime you feel the need to spread your bible knowledge on Paul regarding the veil, with the verse I supplied to you that you were not aware of, let me in on it.Did I miss your question? What was it?![]()
Indeed. Thank you for the words of caution. I sometimes get a little overzealous about the truth.Charity brother.
Its not funny to see how some think Peter the man was a metaphor.
I for one am willing to hear out their explainationā¦
I am sure you are too!![]()
I supplied it to you, you told me you would read it.Did I miss your question? What was it?![]()
Therin lies the problem. It doesnt matter what it says to āyouā or for that matter to āmeā as neither of us are qualified to interpret Scripture for others. What is important is how was this interpreted in the early Church? For the first 1,500 years of Christianity was interpreted, correctly, to be referring to the the Church Christ founded. the Catholic Church. Is there a particular passage you wish to discuss?
How about Ephesians 4?
3Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4There is one body and one Spiritājust as you were called to one hope when you were calledā 5one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
To me it says that as long as we all belong to the one and the same Jesus that we also all belong equally to one another. But in Catholic circles I am told that I am not a full brother in Christ, but at best āseparated brethernā.
Amen! Reconciliation with the One True Church is a gift that is free to all. Thank goodness!Therin lies the problem. You are indeed a separated Brethren but take heart-in a couple of months RCIA will start and you can take instruction and become a member of the One True Church next Easter
I donāt think that there was an answer ever given for that one. Sounds like a private interpretation of scripture to me.estesbob,
How did Grace seeker ever answer the question about Peter being a metaphor?
He didnt .estesbob,

No Im sorry Im confusing the two threadsI supplied it to you, you told me you would read it.
Yet, you dont know now.
Let me know when you really start reading the bible.
*to all here- All for Him and I are conversing on 2 threads- she knows what I refer to and even took my apology and now after the fact is playing dumb.![]()
And again this is what I mean by seeing things through the lense of the CC. Your points are only valid from a Catholic perspective. I donāt even agree that your statement: āFor the first 1,500 years of Christianity was interpreted, correctly, to be referring to the the Church Christ founded. the Catholic Church.ā is even a true history of the Church.Therin lies the problem. If you do not believe that, you really should read a history book. And again this is what I mean by seeing things through the lense of the CC. Your points are only valid from a Catholic perspective. I donāt even agree that your statement: āFor the first 1,500 years of Christianity was interpreted, correctly, to be referring to the the Church Christ founded. the Catholic Church.ā is even a true history of the Church.
Do you have an alternate History you would to provide? And again this is what I mean by seeing things through the lense of the CC. Your points are only valid from a Catholic perspective. I donāt even agree that your statement: āFor the first 1,500 years of Christianity was interpreted, correctly, to be referring to the the Church Christ founded. the Catholic Church.ā is even a true history of the Church.
Go with your heart, and ask the Holy Spirit. No Im sorry Im confusing the two threadsI thought maybe you asked another question but not directly to me.
I will get back to you about the veil. I did find the scripture interesting.
BTWāwhat is your view or the CC view on this?
My first response is maybe I should be wearing a veil on my head![]()
You dont reach out to other faiths by lying to them. Nothing has changed, with this lates announcement. The Pope was merely reiterating what has been taught by the Church for the last 2,000 years.Donāt be mad at me, but I was a bit disheartened to read this.** Of course, the Pope is going to say that there is only one true church, but I donāt think this will help with reaching out to other faiths**. You want to bring others into fold, as it were, but I think you need to find common ground first. John Paul II was pretty good at doing that, I thought. This seemed kind of harsh.
Iāve been away from the church around 30 years and am now just coming around to thinking about attending and becoming active again. But this latest development makes me pause.
Donāt pause unless it is to read back through the thread. When you do, you will come to see where this is coming from.Donāt be mad at me, but I was a bit disheartened to read this.
