I just hope the Donald doesn’t deport all us Catholics to the Vatican!

cnn.com/2016/02/18/politics/pope-francis-trump-christian-wall/index.html

They Pope renounces the idea of a wall at the US/Mexico border.

From Pope Francis:

“A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian. This is not in the gospel,”
The Pope lives in a walled city, the Vatican; walls which contain immense wealth and an armed Swiss guard. Is he going to build bridges to just let everyone and anyone in… I highly doubt it; and here we come to the crux of the issue, separation of church and state. Historically the Catholic Church has muddled religious authority and secular authority. Jesus made clear that His Kingdom is not of this world.

How a country chooses to protect its national sovereignty is a secular issue. Improving enforcement of its laws regarding immigration is not wrong when so many are flaunting the law.

According to Wikipedia this is a definition of genocide:

“Genocide is a series of purposeful actions by a perpetrator(s) to destroy a collectivity through mass or selective murders of group members and suppressing the biological and social reproduction of the collectivity. This can be accomplished through the imposed proscription or restriction of reproduction of group members, increasing infant mortality, and breaking the linkage between reproduction and socialization of children in the family or group of origin. The perpetrator may represent the state of the victim, another state, or another collectivity. (Genocide: A Sociological Perspective, London)[13][22]”

To me it’s clear that engineering immigration,of millions of people from another race to mix with the targeted host race (Caucasians) is a form of genocide.
Hi Popist!👋

I totally respect Trump’s honesty, really, I harbor my own suspicions for the open-borders pro-Rubio crowd. It’s a beneficial relationship.

I am first a Christian, then Catholic (or reverse the first 2) and then American.

My ethnic background does not figure on how I judge others. :whacky::juggle:

You wouldn’t, by any chance, be part of a group that is discussed at the Southern Poverty Law Center? Just asking’.

A bit off-topic here, but just to clarify, the Catholic Church is made up of the baptized faithful on Earth, as well as the souls in Purgatory and Heaven. Just wanted to clarify that.

Would never happen, I don’t think. Unless the Vatican takes more American refugees than they have Syrian ones. Apparently a grand total of 2 familes.😃

In my humble opinion, if we stopped talking to that individual and just ignoring them, at the most reporting his hateful posts to the moderators, that would be the most ideal thing to do. People with that mentality crave attention.

So I’ve heard, even Heaven has pearly gates; maybe it has a wall too! :o

Good point.

Is the wall around the Vatican used to keep pilgrims out? It appears to me that the Pope is not talking about the mere existence of walls but about the “othering” of people beyond the wall.
I doubt the Pope is going to let hundreds of thousands of migrants just move into the Vatican state.

Just trying to keep my criticisms of Limbaugh straight. I added them to the list.
*
#34) Limbaugh’s rhetoric is dangerous because of his sphere of influence, which numbers about 13, 000,000.

#35) Limbaugh’s got no influence on anyone and is a product of media a bygone era.*

I actually think 34 is correct, FWIW.
Well, FWIW, I only worry that those 13+ million because they often seem to be extremists. #35 is, in a larger sense, very correct.

We were warned of his influence earlier and his 13 million listeners. People who dislike Limbaugh should at least get their story straight.

And let’s be clear what the Pope actually said. He said “a man”, the man in question" was not a Christian.

For many, that’s the main issue. As Thomas said, does than make Obama not a Christian? Because apparently, baptism isn’t enough to be one any more. Which again, would make every person on this topic not a Christian, based on a belief or action at some point in their life.

The Pope was, IMO, baited, and should be shrewd enough to avoid this sort of thing.

The interviewer might as well have said “hypothetically, let’s say there’s a woman running for President; we’ll call her, Schmillary Schminton. If she were to espouse a belief that it is okay to kill children in the womb, would that make her not a Christian?”

Pope - “That woman would not be Christian.”

Not to mention, focusing on a wall and not including the rest of the plan for addressing immigration issues is silly, and shows an unwillingness to seriously debate Trump’s plan on the part of posters.

But since none of us are Christian, I guess it’s no surprise?
No other candidate to my knowledge commented negatively about the Pope and his trip to Mexico. Trump did. He suggested the Pope was a pawn of the Mexican Government. Why? What business is it of Trump where the Pope visits or says Mass?

The Pope was asked specifically about Trump’s comments.

Build bridges and walls. Simple as that.
We already have the first (the USA already takes the most legal immigrants of any nation in the world. And I would presume the most illegal ones, too.)

Agree re: the second. A nation without borders ceases to be a nation.

Well, though I still support the Pope 100%, according to Niall’s son, the Pope wasn’t speaking to me anyway, as I am small business S-Corporation owner, nor anyone of the unclean upper class who run Fortune 500 companies.

So I doubt they need to listen, since he isn’t talking to them. He isn’t even here for them. Those dregs are unworthy.

#Year of Mercy
snort LOL

My comment said nothing about migrants. Please look at the full context. I was discussing the pope’s metaphor and what I think he means by it.

Racemixing= prevention of births of “target group” by giving birth to non-“target group” children instead, eg: when Mare gives birth to mule (or polar bear births a Pizzly), mule is NOT a horse (& pizzly is NOT a Polar Bear!), just as heidi klum’s kids aren’t WHITE! & if only pizzlies are born (brown bears outnumber polar bears as black men outnumber white women), then polar bears (& polar/white humans) go extinct!
