Who am I to judge?
Who am I to judge?
If the report and translation are accurate (big IF), this is one of the rare occasions I must side with Trump rather than Pope Francis. I don’t think it’s a good idea to question another person’s faith is part of Trump’s response to what the Pope said. But we are all human and we make mistakes, the Pope probably much less so than the rest of us.cnn.com/2016/02/18/politics/pope-francis-trump-christian-wall/index.html
They Pope renounces the idea of a wall at the US/Mexico border.
From Pope Francis:
“A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian. This is not in the gospel,”
I don’t it will hurt or help Trump. He is wearing a strange form of Teflon. It’s amazing to hear the Pope say someone is not a Christian while our own pro-abortion politicians can openly and publicly receive the Eucharist. However this is received in the catholic world, Americans will not appreciate what the Pope said. This Will probably help trump.
If the Vicar of Christ cannot say these things, then no person can.If the report and translation are accurate (big IF), this is one of the rare occasions I must side with Trump rather than Pope Francis. A number of days ago Trump made comments on the Pope’s trip to Mexico and accusing the Holy Father of being political. I assume the Holy Father can travel where he sees fit, the trip wasn’t to the US, and it wasn’t any business of Mr Trump to comment, criticize, or accuse. While I don’t necessarily disagree with the Pope, I am wondering why he singled out Trump. Honestly, supporting the wholesale, widespread slaughter of innocent babies is definitely NOT CHRISTIAN, but to my knowledge I have never heard him call out a single Democratic candidate on that especially the so called Catholic ones.
Only if he becomes President!Has he called himself lord? Does he pray to himself? Does he demand you bow down to him and worship him?
Yes, and in that case, as anyone who researched the subject knows, spoke to the notion that if a gay person is trying with all his heart to follow Christ, who is the Pope to judge that struggle and journey?Who am I to judge?
I don’t think the wall surrounding the Vatican is to avoid people. Remember the Vatican if you have an birds eye view, it appears as arms open. It’s welcoming people, not pushing them out. There is a wall around the Vatican, 40 feet high.
Perhaps other issues can be addressed as well.
“Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!”
Trump is not a religious man, but if he says he is Christian (Presbyterian), that’s good enough for me. I do NOT support Trump’s policies, including the wall he wants to build, but at the same time, I believe his faith should not be questioned.I have long thought that Trump could not be a Christian, because his anti-christian utterances. Most of his rhetoric is anti-christian to me.
Now the Pope has confirmed this.
Exactly. That’s a Protestant perspective. And might I add that in Protestant circles, professing Jesus as Lord is generally accompanied by asking God in Christ for forgiveness of sins.Matthew 7:21….”It is not anyone who says to me,”Lord, Lord,” who will enter the kingdom of Heaven, but the person who does the will of my Father in heaven.”
Being a Christian is more than just a profession of Jesus as Lord. That is a Protestant pov.
I remember when trump tried quoting scripture and said two Corinthians.I have long thought that Trump could not be a Christian, because his anti-christian utterances. Most of his rhetoric is anti-christian to me.
Now the Pope has confirmed this.
